Everso slightly better sound on this C64 version thanks to SID, but slightly worse graphics due to the smaller colour palette of VIC-II. Does anyone know which came first, this or the C16 / plus/4 version?
ahh, memories. one of my favorite game on c64, got it on a cartridge in 1991 and still play it. for years I didn't know the story about Jack Trammiel, thanks for sharing. my record on c64 was the level 40 (high peaks and all heads going down at start), however using the emulator at the PC managed to get all 64 levels. cheating. fantastic game!
called Jack Attack because it was a protest against the then owner of ATARI, Jack Trammiel (Atari ST's O/S was also named after him TOS Trammiel Operating System!)
OMG i loved this Game!!! We played it till 3 am morning !!

I remember playing this with one of those original joysticks without a base. Anyone remember them? It was impossible.

My first ever computer game as a kid!! Didn't you used to get bonus points if you stood on all the 'bars' before they disappeared?

it was more of a inhouse joke at Commodore cuz jack tramiel used to lash out on programmers and others that didnt do things the way he liked it.
Jack Attack.

Apart from the game was released in 1993 and Jack Tramiel didn't leave Commodore until 1984.
