  • Plastic Paddie Yank filth pretending to be Irish while using Scottish bagpipes and Scottish tradition...

Made have made a half decent video at best...if they fuck it up with that shitty dodgy Yankee Americunt music to ruin it.

  • Comment removed

  • what can i say good on yea boys

  • aww yes these soldiers are irish yes that explains why your beloved IRA shot two of them last year yeah that makes sence... look there is nothing irish about this regiment other than the fact they are situated on the island of ireland but are in the fucking UK republic of ireland is a differnt country but maybe the irish from the republic arnt as bitter as the irish up here to be honest irelands a fucking mess at the minute

  • TBH..no matter where you will find the Irish, aslong as they are fighting beside a brother, you will NEVER defeat the IRISH. Our spirits and our attitide make us one of the deadliest forces to be fucked with!!!

  • Faugh A Ballagh! Great video!

  • Faugh A Ballagh! Great video!

  • -_- some people are tards. during ww1 members of the ira and irb signed up to the british army to fight in the war....we may fight between ourselves....but wen something that is an outside threat trys to fuck with us all through historey the english and irish have fought alongside one another to repel the threat.

  • the royal means they are british the harp has the Queens crown on top they are northern irish not southern which makes them british i am scottish but still british and i dont really like england but when it comes to war we fight side by side as brothers and its been like that for 100,s of years thats what makes us british

  • @sonsofcarson But why dont some of you like us English? We English have the upmost respect for Scottish. That may not have been the case 700 years or so ago, but now we always support scotland in the footy, rugby etc but this support isnt mutch returned by the Scots. Is that an accurate analysis on my part?

  • the music would be much better without e-guitar : (

  • rofl they are called the Royal irish regiment because they used to be the royal ulster fusileers, royal iniskillin fusileers and the rifles sorry for spelling i suck at it, they dispanded into the royal irish rangers and now renamed the royal irish regiment

  • I thought Irish are not in line with England ....

They have some bad blood between you two , Irish do not relly like Britan Am I wright or am I totaly wrong ?

  • @aviomaster It varies from person to person, some Irishmen will be bitter towards the English, and others have moved on and accept them. However, there's always been a substantial amount of Irishmen fighting alongside the English throughout history. The Irish often put aside their differences with the English for the greater good, such as during WWII when many Irish volunteered to join the British Army and fight against the Axis forces in Europe.

  • @Probational

Great video, but you are just going to ignore the whole plantation when speaking to people about our history? We don't exist, we are not British, we simply accept our English host? Disrespectful mate.

  • @aviomaster some ppl just cant move on from history... i think its great we can enlist in the british army i wanna join the royal irish next year and thankfully we dont lose or irish citizienship any more...

  • @aviomaster totaly wrong the royal irish is a part of the british army and is norm from northern ireland witch is part of britan

  • @aviomaster totaly wrong the royal irish is a part of the british army and is norm from northern ireland witch is part of britan.

  • @aviomaster

The Royal Irish Regiment is mainly recruited from Northern Ireland, which stayed in the Union when the southern counties seceded. To this day, the majority of people in Northern Ireland remain loyal to the Union.

  • @aviomaster this is the British army not the irish army you dumb peice of shit theres nothing irish about them accept that there situated on the island of ireland but if you had any intelligence at all youd know that the top part of the island if ireland is British and inside the boundaries of the UK and use the British pound and not the euro omg people like you piss me off

  • @aviomaster Guys, the Royal Irish Regiment is from Northern Ireland which is part of the UK nothing disloyal about it there fightin for their country. It don't matter if your Prod or Catholic just Loyal.

  • @41corsair He was on about the substantial amount from the republic aswell

  • @aviomaster Well tbh I dont like the British that much but You are not "Wrong" nor "Right". But I think that Northern Ireland is for the Irish.

  • Great vid...idiot below

    v

    v

  • have posted this on other sites and recepton has been favouarable,as royal irish is open to all north south as all its always have been ,,no discintion who serves as long as they royal irish throuh and through,by the way trainers are optinal

  • great video...does not matter brit or irish

  • See U Seen Lads

  • I'm from southern Ireland. I'm finished college soon and with no real job prospects for the next couple of years I was thinking of joining up. I know one or two lads from the south that have joined the RIR already.

  • Great video, What's the song called?

  • proud to be british

  • they make you feel proud to be british.. up the royal irish

  • Hi Probational been busy lately fighting a corrupt system we have m8 did u not see the sunday world on the 25 th oct that was only a start Keep well Cheers Nick....

  • Love this video full 5 again

  • Supporting soldiers, and the war/s they are trained to fight in are two seperate issues. I oppose this oil/opium war in Afghanistan and have done since day one, but also hope the soldiers come home alive, free of life sapping toxins injected by Porton down's toxin 'specialist's', and with all their limbs and brain matter intact.

  • Excellent vid!! full 5*

  • im a northern irish catholic halfway through my application for the the british army, joining the Rifles though as most of the RIR are sectarian cnuts, still do a great job though. nice video btw. FAUGH A BALLAGH.

  • @denbagdarrell ur view on sectarianism is incorrect mate, im southern irish catholic and been in 6 yrs, never had any sectaranism directed towards me, or any of the southern lads.

  • 5/5 * heros on and all

  • Respect to the Royal Irish Rangers the people that make you proud to come from Northern Ireland.

    R.I.P to the lost soldiers

  • awesome and irishbuy is a twit

  • God Bless The British And Irish Lions in Battle against their Foe!!!!!

    That's A Great F*ckin Combo..Mad Irish and F#ckin Mad Brits...Yeehaaa:)

  • Unstoppable, especially after a few "wee ones" inside them to warm the cockles and trigger fingers.

  • @LordMasterKain I think that Northern Ireland belongs to the Irish. But I heard ISAF and NATO have been asking Ireland to join them. So USA Ireland And Britain will be united.

  • Great video, speaking as an Amnerican I would like to thank the RIR for their help in Afghanistan. When it comes to allies I will take the Irish, Scots and English over the French, Belgiums and Geermans anyday.

  • and what about the Canadians? HUH?

  • They made the (ahem) 'Empire' proud with their heroic actions throughout ww1, and they had the respect of all other units.

They're parts are played down for some reason, but they were important, especially in winter when they could operate at a piss freezing temp while 'Jerry' froze, huddled round an Ersatz food tin with a candle in it. God bless Canada's sons!

  • Fág an bealach

  • are these men british or irish ?

if there irish where the loyalty to ireland ?

  • They could be either, since the British Army recruits both Irish and British infantry.

Since the end of Operation Banner, recruitment from the Republic of Ireland has been climbing steadily. The Irish Republic government allows its citizens to join the British Army; therefore Irishmen who join are not being disloyal.

  • thye ...are..Northern Irish........figure it out

  • @irishbuy u are a sectarian idiot, im Irish id do anything for my country, id b one of the first out fighting for my country if she needed me....but im proud of the job I do with the royal Irish, bloody internet, call of duty warriors all over the net. get a life

  • @irishbuy There Northern Irish. So their both.

  • Fantastic video 5/5

  • Nicely done lad.

    MAJ Terry LaFrance

(don't let the name fool you, I'm fookin' Irish)

  • Cheers, glad you enjoyed it!

  • @Probational , ah, can't let a fine product such as this go uncomplimented.fallagh ballagh!!!

  • @Probational ah, couldn't let it go uncomplimented. faugh a ballagh

  • @Probational My Faugh A Ballagh flag, given to me by the mother of a RIR soldier, is hanging with honor in our only true Irish pub in Oklahoma City. And there's a pint for anyone on here who comes to visit, just let me know ahead of time so I can host you properly.

  • @tmlafrance Scots and Irish brothers in arms forever.

  • @scot6385 INDEED!

  • cockmunch

  • Good to see you home again lads doing us proud

over there ex member jaba 1996 2nd batt E company

  • Rightly said

  • pretty much the best video in the world

  • im an irish catholic, im going to join when i reach the right age, i still think Ireland should be one nation but i dont believe in fighting between irishmen. im proud to be irish.

  • i agree

  • nicely said

  • Anyone who joins deserves respect but I can't agree with yer opinion on the one nation thing ... all entitled to our opinions mind! There's enough southern irish lads going through the recruiting office at Palace Barracks to form a 3rd Battalion :)

  • nice my dad is in that video. at 0:45 on in front row on the left moving his arms about alot :)

  • FAUGH A BALLAGH.

  • Thanks to whoever flagged the video; pretty sure there isn't a legitimate reason, I'm not surprised though.

  • yup watched this several times and had to comfirm date of birth now lol.. idiots

  • probably some disgruntled teenager ( always thinking that the army is bad)

  • im proud of my irish name and family .all irish should be proud of it..im proud of my nation and proud of my land..i hate fking bigots from both sides ..im proud to be irish and proud to be a protestant .

  • Are you related to the waltons?,if you nothing respectful to say, then keep your mouth firmly SHUT!FAUGH A BALLAGH!

  • Yes, the motto was also used by the 'Irish Brigade' of the Northern American forces in the American civil war. Good to see a positive use of the Irish language.

  • Faugh A Ballagh.

  • I think the song was taken out of context. I'm very sure the Dropkick Murphys wrote it in referance to the 67th New York Volunteers.

  • Yeah I think it was to do with Irish-Americans fighting for worker's rights. Regardless, it speaks of standing up for freedom, uses the Royal Irish battlecry & motto, so I used it.

  • Excellent and very well made video well done!

Please come out on the streets of Belfast on Sunday November 2nd @ 11.45am Donegall Square to support our troops on their homecoming parade from Afghanistan.

  • ill be there woo hoo

  • Belfast 2nd Nov.Come & see these brave young RIR soldiers. Faugh a Ballagh.Clear the way. Also see the face of republican sectarianism who are having a counter march. Do young american soldiers come home to ira sympathizers protests. They are not oppressing the republican community ,they are coming home.Ulster will remain Ulster until all her people decide . 6not9.

  • First class video 5 Stars!! remember Belfast 2nd Nov large turn out to support our lads Nick Ex RUC

  • First class - keep up the great work UnitedIrishman ex C Coy KOSB

  • good video boys,

    FAUGH A BALLAGH

  • cheers lad, glad you enjoyed!

  • really silly comment.grow up.ulstermen and the rest of ireland can work together.

  • cracking bunch of lad"s

  • First video aint really the Irish Regiment...

  • The Royal Irish are part of 16th Air Assault, so I included a clip from the 16th Air Assault advert.

  • I'm surprised that loyalists volunteer for a regiment with the word "Irish" in it.

  • Just shows how ignorant you are to the situation then

  • Im a Prod, n Im proud to be Irish... We're in the Union, Im happy.. Justs lik a scotch man n a welsh man weither their prod or catholic.

Its the UNION that counts, For Queen n country..

  • With no wars to fight the Irish turn on each other. We marginalise our true heroes in this country. James Joseph (Mick) MagennisV.C hated by his own side for beig a Brit lover and hated by the others for being a taig with no right to wear the King's uniform. Died in England after leaving his beloved Belfast in dissolusionment. He is buried a heroe in Gloucester.

  • I loved this video as a roman Catholic who has just finished my 22 in the R.N and from Belfast too. Mickduffy needs to wise the F@@@ up. Ireland has always contibuted many heroes to the british army. In fact Wellingtons army was over 1 third Irish. Wellington himself was an Irishman. Napoleon is thought to have commented that with an army of German Officers and Irish soldiers i would have won Waterloo....And so he would have!!!!

  • PS: I'm a Catholic from County Tipperary who is equally proud of family members who served in the Old IRA as well as in The RIR & the Irish Guards. Men prepared to die for their beliefs and for each other are always deserving of respect.

  • Well said mate, I couldn't agree more. Throughout history many men have died for their beliefs, and there will always be someone who can relate to that, regardless of which side of the fence they're on.

  • I've got alot of repect for vets n' all. But what's the point in laying down ones life for a cause? Killing/Dying like that in -my- own opinion is worthless. Causese have been acheived in better ways. (e.g. Civil Rights, Ghandi.} I just want your opinion? =]

  • Many thanks for that; had a look at the other video & thought it was very nicely presented. Good luck with your career in the military. Had my heart set on a commission in the Micks myself after University, but medical history meant it never happened. Have you read 'A long, long way' by Sebsastian Barry, about the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in the Great War? Gorgeous book. Faugh a Ballagh!

  • Thanks mate, I shall definitely pick that book up sometime and give it a read, all the best.

  • My great-uncle was in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Irish; he never came home from the Boer War. Visited his grave in Bloemfontein a couple of years ago. I have a feeling his Regt. was the Royal Irish Rifles (?). Is this the same Regt.?

  • The Royal Irish Rifles were absorbed by the Royal Irish Rangers, which in turn formed the Royal Irish Regiment. Although they aren't the exact same regt. the Royal Irish Regt. is certainly a close descendant. They still have many traditions like the Irish Caubeen instead of a beret, and band songs such as the Killaloe.

watch?v=HoF2kCR6UzE - A video of mine with many photos of the old Irish Regiments, including the Rifles. At 3:47 there's a photo of Irish Riflemen in their trench during WWI.

    :)

  • Great video. I have served 26 years, and am still serving in the British Army and i still havent come across a better Infantry Regiment than the RIR. Keep up the good work lads and safe home. God Bless.

  • "refrain from posting hate-messages (bigotry, racism, sectarianism, etc.) or slander against soldiers, organisations or individuals."

I won't be posting this again; it's in the video description. Keep your bigoted remarks within your closed mind please.

  • mickduffy stop looking for videos of the British Army so that you can insult our troops. Don't just go out looking for an argument; this isn't the local pub, it's youtube. Get a fucking life, seriously.

Rob, much respect for serving your country over the years; you have taken risks most others would never attempt, and you deserve the utmost respect for that.

  • Thanks mate. I just feel I've more of a right to state my opinion on here to anyone more than those who come on and disprespect our boys serving out there, because they dont have the balls to go through the same thing.

Keep up the good job of supporting our troops and join up soon, otherwise u might miss the fun lol.

  • oh, last comment, cant take any more images of british soldiers every time i come to this site, goodbye state trooper,

  • Would rather be a state trooper than a countrys coward.

  • wel there just bein sad, the quicker we eget over our history the better. itl be better 4 everyone!

  • Too right. I'm proud of our little diverse country. Screw the bigotry and sectarianism, decent people want to move on. :)

  • cant we all just get along?

  • I'd like to think so. We aren't in the dark days of the troubles anymore, but some people wish we still were apaprently. Try not to let it get to you I guess.

  • Yes mickduffy39, Che Guevara had Irish ancestry indeed. More precisely, Patrick Lynch, born in Galway in 1715. He emigrated first to Spain and later to Argentina. El Che was born in Argentina and he's our icon. So back off you Irish people!!!! LOL

Go n-éirí an t-ádh leat! mo chara (sorry for my Gaelic, it's a bit rough...)

  • Politically, Great Britain is formed by England, Scotland, and Wales.

The U.K. is short for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

    Nice video, BTW.

  • latintube71 your name really suits you, lol .Che" Guevara de la Serna Lynch, his family were from Ireland, wasnt he from Argentina? couldnt see che hanging with the rir could you? Buena suerte amigo

  • so ud say the scotish are british? yes wer british subjects. theres a different. look up the definitions.

  • if u live in northern ireland ur northern irish. if u live in the south ur irish. no point in cryn about it. dont have a one track mind. we need to move on in this country. if u wer stabbed by sumone of the same religion and sumone from a different religion was there to help you wud u care? na didnt tink so.

  • i live in norn iron.. im british lol

  • mickduffy39

You have "Palestine" written on your page, are you going to die for it?

  • carmie1818. No certainly will not, had enough of guns and bombs and all that other dark days stuff here, but I can see the same shit that went on here going on over there and if you had to look at my page, well now ur aware. My point is I am Irish and I wouldn't want any Iraq or Afghan or any one else in those countries that the brits have horsed into to think the solder in front of him represents me and my country because he doesn't?

  • Point taken, and well said I might add. We are all entitled to our opinions. On the Iraq issue, I am glad I am Canadian and we didn't get caught up in that mess. Afghanistan, I feel, is the country where all of the allies should have concentrated on.

    Cheers mick!

  • and u

  • Chick chick chick chicken wont u lay a little egg for me!

  • All I'll say is, people from the whole island of Ireland join the Royal Irish Regiment. That's why it isn't called the "Royal Ulster Regiment", or "Royal Northern Irish Regiment."

If men from the entire island didn't want to join, they wouldn't be doing so. They made the choice to join, and with that decision, they took responsibility to represent our island on tours of duty.

Keep comments clean from hatred in the future. If you don't like videos about the Royal Irish don't search for them.

  • Probational,ur missing the point, Ireland is a neutral country she doesn't go horsing into other countries like Britain does for, ah "weapons of mass destruction"?, you also don't represent Ireland, Irish or any thing else on the country of Ireland, if you are in the rir, you work for the british! Is that a fair point?

  • Ireland was neutral during both WWI & WWII; it isn't because they don't want to go into countries looking for WMDs. They were neutral in the greatest conflict to date, which would have seen them anihilated by Nazi Germany had the Allies been defeated.

I think you're missing my point. They might be working for Britain, but they're still Irish citizens. The people of your country obviously want to get involved in it.

The British Army couldn't recruit Irish men if they weren't willing to join.

  • Probational! yes there are always going to be Irish people who want to fight for the brits, cause they, lets face it they have been at war for , always, right? The point is they aren't fuck all to do with Ireland, they are british, because the minute they put the uniform on they swear allegiance to the queen and that fitly rag of a flag, looking at ur page your obviously some sad English man creaming ur knickers over the rir, ,

  • Look who had to stoop to insulting. A rather pathetic attempt too might I add.

If you looked at my page you'd see I'm from N.Ireland, I'm joining the Assault Pioneers in the RIR; hence my interest in the RIR.

True they are British once they put on that uniform, just like many Irishmen before them. I don't see a problem with it. I don't hate Ireland, I don't hate England. I find the hatred pathetic.

I can delete your comments, but I choose not to, you make yourself look foolish enough.

    Cheers

  • Mickduffy cunt.....The irish guards recruit in dublin. The RIR recruit in NI,which according to u arse wipe IRA loving "our day will come" bullshitters is Ireland? So therefore irishmen are representing the irish nation as well as the crown. U cant help being a hatefilled coward who loves his IRA stuff but get over the fact there are irishmen who dont think like u do. In fact about 99% of ireland & NI dont. We've all wised up. U should try it and get with the times u stupid wee boy.

  • wrong michael.theres plenty of 26 county boys in the brits.they keep their irishness and in some regiments the irishness is to the fore.some of my best paddies days have been in her maj's forces

  • Also, can i ask what the fuck are u doin looking at RIR stuff on youtube if u hate them so much?! Bit of a envious twat if u ask me pal! Yellow, chickenshit, coward! Chick chick chick chicken wont u lay a little egg for me! LOL!

  • i can understand that, having a catholic mum and a protestant dad.....but i was raised as a catholic but i dont see why religion even matters....we're all people!

  • i agree but to some people, alas, religion does matter, especially in our country; it's mixed with politics and the sooner we separate both the better.

  • wel said

  • getting my application forms in november! wooo joining the royal irish....im catholic which means some of my friends are like wtf?

but some day ill be out fighting for them!

    Faugh A Ballagh!

  • Good man, I like to see people from both communities joinin the RIR. I guess it proves that we're moving forward in a positive direction. :) Good luck with your application & stay safe on your tours.

  • well done lad! take pride in your religion but remember other people take pride in theirs.

at the end of the day we are all irish.

  • Well done mate I`ll be doing the same once I`m finished college like you I`m catholic and all my mates are like sayin I`m not really Irish but fuck them

  • what are your veiws on some of our political parties trying to block home coming parades for our boys in the ROYAL.IRISH. MY VEIWS ARE WANKERS LIKE THOSE SO CALLED POLITICAL PARTIES SHOULD STAY IN THEIR HOUSES THAT DAY SO WE CAN WELCOME OUR HEROES BACK. FAB.

  • I'm definitely in agreement with you there. Our lads deserve a coming home parade in recognition of their duty. Faugh A Ballagh!

  • northern ireland is a country to me and are we not ruled by ourselves now?

  • cheers man

  • exactly! im goin to make ma country proud. and to kick sum taliban ass.

  • Good man, if only there were more like you out there lad! Good luck with your training and tours mate. :)

  • im catholic and im joinin the army for my country (northern ireland). i dont c y otehrs want to go down south to the irish army. fight 4 "ur" country.

  • Same goes catholics who play for the republic's football team. I don't see the point. I know plenty of catholics & protestants BOTH proud of our individual country.

Plus, the Irish army see little to no action.

    Faugh A Ballagh!

  • fair play. many catholics wouldnt.

  • Ireland is your Country. England is to. I've got nothing against Northern Ireland or England. It's just, Northern Ireland isn't a country mate. Sorry.

  • Technically we're a country. Most people who live here also accept and take pride in this country.

We're progressing positively & people from every walk of life are becoming proud of our individual little land. I know many people, both Protestants & Catholics, even some Polish lads, who really love this country.

Just as much as Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales; we are a country my friend. It's a fact, not an opinion; sorry if it bothers you, but neither you nor me can change it.

  • No surrender!!! Fucking class. I'm a ex para but damn i wish i joined my fellow ulstermen instead sometimes. Keep it up lads,Ulster is proud u all! Utrinque paratus as the paras saying goes,READY FOR ANYTHING Woooohooooo!

  • Cheers lad! I'm in a dillema on whether to join the RMs or the Royal Irish. I think I'll join the RIR though. The craic must be wild out there with our boyos!

  • Man,my heart says join our fellow countrymen but my head says join the paras, they get to go taliban hunting,u cant beat it. But all the best in whatever u decide mate, its all good :-)

  • Yea I know the feeling mate. I think I'd feel more pride among my countrymen though, so that's what I'll most likely go for. Thanks for the wishes and all the best.

  • Well paras recruit from everywhere in the UK so your bound to run into a few Irish paras.

  • I've left the paras now, after 10 years of service and yes ur right, plenty of ulstermen and irishmen join the paras. In fact in some units the irish outnumber the english and scots! Utrinque paratus my lads!

  • WarHawkRob (cunt right back to you, there's always going to be some slow, stupid thick backward cunt who will joint the brit army, north or south, Jealous of the army?

  • Since ur slow stupid ad backward mick, why dont u try joining up? U'll soon see they dont just take any dumb fucker into its ranks. Esp the paras & special forces. Now off u go look at some boring IRA men firing from behind rioting children. Leave the business of real war to us men theres a good wee boy.

  • I think they were real men, dont talk about something you know nothing about, you may have been on the other side of the wall, but not on their side, they were brave and still are, like all freedom fighters (another man's terrorist) Your comparing the IRA against an organised legal national military superpower. All in all, over the years,i think they served their purpose very well, an 'undefeated' army still to this day. But we as a people have put it behind us now but will never forget it. PEACE

  • Well I'm sure he does know _something_ about it, as he was in conflict with those men. He has every right to hate them and think of them as cowards, just as they hated him.

The sad thing is, we haven't put it behind us. It's evident we haven't with all the sectarian attacks on both sides to this day.

I don't think there will ever be peace in Northern Ireland, not even if the island unites; then we'll have a nasty civil war on our hands.

  • Cowards?! the same cowards that murdered innocent civil rights campaigners led by a prodestant man on bloody sunday, thats where the real hatred was born, who were the cowards who shot them? The same cowards who made up the minds of future IRA men to become IRA men, as the film Bloody Sunday goes, "You know what youve done, dont you, you've given the IRA its biggest victory, prepare to reap a whirlwind" and the rest is history, very sad, but very much prevoked and created by such actions.

  • The IRA bombing campaign started before Bloody Sunday, I won't disagree that it was a horrible thing to happen, but it certainly wasn't what started the bombing campaign.
