one of my friends dad work at a yamaha polaris dealership and he said the new 2012 sportsman 400 h.o, is better than yamaha cause they did alot of work to them at making them the best in the 400 class and its really 455 cc which is bad ass ima get it and put some mud bitches so ill bitch that h.o out and put some videos up here of it going through rabbit creek atv park
i own a 2000 polaris sportsman and im currently workin on it. so far i have some itp mudders, clutch kit, lift kit and im thinking about snorkeling it out. very nice vid.
well, my step dad had a polaris 600 and he used it in mud, flipped it and got it stuck in a mud hole for 4 hours and we had to get his son to come and pull us out with the jeep, and after that muddin trip all that happenen was bent from racks, broken 4wd bent jeep hitch and a loose carbuerator he said, while ive flooded my rubicon a few tikmes and it runs fine, and a bunch of other stuff
That was low......I always use low in mud and hills, I put a heel clicker clutch kit in a month ago and my belt with 1800 miles on it looked brand new
wow you can either buy somethin with a foot of clearence or buy somethin that you have to spend 1000+ to get it mud worthy if i was a farmer i would buy honda...maybe...lol but ill take a polaris anyday.
Yes I used 1" spacers up front as the insides of the tires were just barley touching the tie rod boots, I also put Heavy Duty springs front and rear, not needed but gave me extras clearance
They are great on the trails, able to pull the machine over logs and handle good at speed. I have Heavy Duty springs in the front so I'm sitting about 1.5" over stock height, the rear springs are set on the highest preload, the machine sits level at rest.
did you ever have trouble with rear wheel hop on your polaris sportsman? whenever im in deep snow my rear tires start to hop real bad. just wondering

@bschilli94 Nope I never did, maybe check that your A-arm bushings aren't wore out causing movement

Nice. Just a tip though. If you keep going through that stuff in High youll be tearin up belts. Low is the best bet. Keep riding hard!

Polaris is the best. Not Honda.
09polaris4x4 2 years ago
@09polaris4x4 people just say honda is the best because the 79' - 89' line of hondas were unstoppable.
but yes, polaris is starting to shine.

Did u have to use spacers on the front to use the stock rims, any rubbing issues, I have the same bike and was just wondering

nice, do u like those tires, would u recommend them?
Sam4027 3 years ago
So far I am extremely happy with them and would have problem recommending them. They seem the pull better then mudlites.
