@Cknotetmp Thanks for the reply man. Yeah, I have an M-Audio MobilePre USB audio interface. It says that I need an ASIO soundcard though. I'm working out of a laptop so could I download one or something? I have ASIO4all but when I select it, and my audio interface is plugged in (which it needs to be or I'll get cracks and pops and a bunch of stuttering), I get no sound. Do you have any ideas what this could be? My audio interface is at 128 for latency and my sample rate's at 48.
@robotpizzatime sounds like ASIO 4 all is not handling your audio interface properly, does your A.I. have an ASIO driver of its own?if so use that instead of asio 4 all
@Cknotetmp Hey, I did what you said but still get crackling distortion when I hit a key. It happens only when I set it below 41ms. I turned off polling and all of that. I shut down all open programs.
@robotpizzatime this can mean your pc's audio card just cant handle it,i know the stock audio card i have in my PC use cant handle that so i use a Audio interface.
For most people, switching the Input/Output to ASIO instead of "Primary Sound Driver" will completely fix the lag, without having to mess with the buffer. This is because ASIO lets FL Studio (and your MIDI keyboard) talk directly to your soundcard instead of having to go through Windows.
If you have "Primary Sound Driver" selected, it means Windows is handling the communication between FL and your sound card. Selecting ASIO removes Windows from equation, thus taking out the middleman.
@Cknotetmp It was my drivers. I had Youtube, Winamp and FL open at the same time and it was causing issues with the audio drivers. Thanks for your responses though.
thanks a lot man, really apreciate this video. all the tutorials say to use ASIO but I hate that program, it always crashes and doesnt work properly. the turorial was perfect and I also have Key Rig 49 :)) how cool. cheers
@Cknotetmp Am I one of the ppl it won't work for? I can't get any sound, or figure out how to get sound, when I make asio4all my primary sound driver :(
Thanks for the tutorial, it really helped.

@plod78 ok now it sounds like you have a cpu speed problem, and it can also be that your audio drivers being used by another program at the same time
