There's been a great new cast photograph of the mostly new main cast of Scrubs' ninth season. Not suprisingly, it appears that J.D. (Zach Braff) is having a central role in the series, and no, that is not a pun.

Scrubs is actually coming back for a "9th" season, though the show's premise will be changing. Most of the main characters will only have small 6-episode roles, with the new premise focusing on Turk and Cox teaching medical school. The season will start airing sometime after the new year

why say scrubs will be rubbish with out J.D when really it wont. yes he plays the main role and well but other than the few episodes he did actually help with. he wont have had much influence on the actual happenings on most shows that make us laugh ?the show will most probably do badly but it wont do badly cos its bad it will do badly cos the fans of the old series will make an asumption it will be crap and not watch it.

Well being that this show is what it is, it seems that scrubs would warrant a season long built to end all. With some older cast members fading to the new and the new style will probably not hold up so then leaving us with a gentle, humble farewell in your fantasy scrubie newb, adventures somewhere not being filmed. Regardless of out come scrubs deserves closure and so do everyone that now feed off of it. However destructive their parasitic selfishness has hampered progress.

If you go to the Scrubs website on ABC, there is a section titled My Scrubs Ramblings. In there Bill Lawrence wrote a note in April, saying that ABC might bring the show back. He also said that while Neil, Johnny C., and Donald all filmed PILOTS, it is always unlikely that pilots make it on the air. Lawrence said that everyone else, including Zach, is around... So I would suggest reading that for some information, as it comes directly from the creator of the show.

I wish J.D. hadn't moved and gotten a new job. The show really couldn't be the same without him but I also think the show would be weird if it was like just him at his new job or whatever. They could have done a 9th season if J.D. stayed at Sacred Heart. I'd probably watch a spin-off as long as they kept the Janitor whose name definitely wasn't revealed in My Finale. I don't think it's Glenn or Tony (or Tommy as some people heard it). I think he just lied to J.D. and the other guy.

ummm, since this article, Bill has stated that he views "My Finale" as the series finale, and whatever may or may not happen, even if it had some of the same characters, would not be Scrubs (like Cheers became Frasier)

I love Scrubs, but for some odd reason the new neason isn't as funny as all the other ones. I constantly watch old re-runs, and they were written better with quik come backs and funnier stunts. Now, it seems like the "Joke writers" got lazy or they hate their job now. It sux to feel this way, because I honestly love the show, from the very beginning. And by the way, I hate Elliott's long hair. It makes her look 50 years old, and the middle part looks ugly. Rocker bangs rule !!!

That's not a good idea. They were lucky enough to get an eighth season. They shouldn't push it if they do the next season will probably be terrible and it will just ruin the series.

As long as Derek, Denise, Howie, Katie, and Sunny are the main characters I would love a spin-off. Scrubs without JD and Turk's Bromance is just another hospital show. I'm all for a spin-off.

I agree, though I think they could get away with one more season provided Braff and Reyes can guest star a handful of times each. It makes sense that J.D. moves closer to Sam, and if Elliot stays, he has reason to be around Sacred Heart every now and then. WIth Reyes leaving the show, they could have Carla quit to spend more time with Izzy. Without guest starring though, I reallt don't like the idea.

i dunno - i'm a hardcore scrubs fan. i love and have watched this show from the very beginning. but i think this is one of those times where they need to let it go out on top - like friends or seinfeld - instead of trying to squeeze every last penny out of it. it's an awesome show - people legitimately care about the characters. no reason to ruin a good thing when it could come to an amiable end.

First there were talks of a spin off show, then for the last 3-4 months all signs pointed to the end, now there's a chance at a 9th season. It's pretty crazy trying to keep up with it all.
