The "no cap" rule is killing MLB in popularity. And These east coast goons refuse to see it... They are digging their heads in the sand while the sport dies around them,.... If you are a TRUE fan of the game of baseball... then look past your team loyalty just this once and support a cap.... dont you care that the game is starting to die!?.... make it more competeive like the NFL!
the yankees always buy championships, and the reds pretty much suck, but at least theyre consistent, i cant say much because the braves have fallin off a lot recently....thats cool they read your email though
Sorry, Bud. Unless the Reds sign Matt Holiday, we're relegated to the bottom half of the NL central. We need another bat, or, rather, a bat in the middle of the lineup. Maybe Adam Dunn . . .
But I do hate the Yankees. They bought the series this year. Try bringing up some of your own players, NY. That's what the game's about.
"They bought the series this year" and "Try bringing up some of your own players" lol Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Brett Gardner, Melky Caberera, Andy Petite, Joba, Phil Houghs. They all came up through the Yankees. Also Mike Lowell helped the Red Sox win in 04/07 and guess where he came from. :)
I'll be the first to admit that Yankees hating is mostly a jealousy thing. But take only those guys you mentioned, fill in the rest of the positions with utility players, aging veterans and retreads, and you've got the Reds and most other teams.
Lose A-Rod, CC, Taxeira, Burnett and now Granderson and see what kind of average team you'd have. At most other teams can afford one of those guys.
The Reds have had one series in my lifetime, and have made the playoffs only once since 1990.
@CuseFan100 An important thing also is that the Yankees can also to resign Jeter and Rivera that they devlop, Brewers are shopping Fielder, Dbacks just traded Haren, how about the A's and the big three they had a few years ago or Jason Giambi, or the Marlins. They develop them but then can't afford them. Also, the Yankees developed those players like Hughes around players like Petite, CC, Burnett, etc. so they can be patient with them unlike with small market teams where they rush players.
The Yankees don't buy all there talent every year altough i do agree there should be a salary cap.
