Nice! Sounds like a snare drum! Just, not really any bass. I'm thinking of making my own cajon, any advice? Like what kind of woods and how big to make the sound hole? Also, how do you mount the snare wire? I'm gonna use real snare drum snares.
yeahhh im gonna have to agree with Cajon wolf, you hit the bass part of it... and it doesn't sound like a bass it sounds like a deeper snare... :l but i do you give you props though, keep being awesome.

I would love a better INTERNAL shot or video of how the snare system is put in? I have recently made my own Cajon and am struggling to get a decent snare sound! This sounds like exactly what I'm after!
I like the idea with the strainer but I think you'd get more snare/bass separation with the snare mounted across the top from left to right so when you go to the bass section of the box you're not actually hitting snares. The snare sound you're getting is super. I wanna make a cajon soon. Any chance you can shoot me a msg and lemme know how you mounted the strainer? I was working on that and the best solution was something similar to the Rockboxx cajon but not exactly. Thanks for sharing.

nice sound!!!! some cajon i heard wow sound different or maybe just becuse they used string!!!! maybe snare drum string was much better

That i know my friend. This is a Peruvian cajon. A flamenco cajon sound competely different to a flamenco cajon.

I have to tell you the truth my friend. You may believe this is a flamenco cajon but it does not sound like a flamenco cajon at all. Good try though.
