What is it? Please practice more, this is probably the worst version of Dorian toccata I've ever seen. And play it more slowly, this version is full of tempo and other mistakes. 1/5
Carry on, building the piece into a style that agrees with your tastes and aspirations. When you reach the point where you won't have to ask anyone else how they feel you'll be where you want to be.
As one of the other guys said it, hats off to anyone who can play such a thing!!! So never mind those who said your skills aren't good enough. Congratulations and keep no playin'!!
Practice slowly and perfectly. Then practice quickly and perfectly. Then memorize. Then perform at a moderate tempo perfectly. I only wish I could practice what I preach! I'm a musical hypocrite!
I would suggest more time with a metronome. I hate using them as well, but they're invaluable when it comes to getting your timing right, and Bach without solid timing is like a sandwich without bread.
Aside from that, maybe your next few practice sessions should focus exclusively on just those passages where you struggle? Don't play the piece through then start from the beginning, jump to the difficult bits, play them until they're perfect, then integrate them back in.
You wan't my opinion on your technique? Well: IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!! You messed up, you didn't keep the tempo, you couldn't to the trill in the middle section, you cursed my ears! even my friends (who know nothing of music) agree with me that it is horrible!!!!1
Not playing any keyboard instrument, I can't comment on your technique, but as a music and Bach lover, I thought it was a stupendous performance, great movement. Makes some other organists (however accomplished their technique!)sound dull and slow. Well done!
I think you should focus on not losing your speed while switching to the upper manual, and you should either really study on the tremolo (I found quite hard as well...) or just leave it out. But otherwise it's a very good job!
It seemms taht your organ is a Hauptwerk or digital? I am creating my own with 33 stops, recorded in Groningen, the Netherlands.Your technique is ok, especially considered the difficulty of this part. It is just a shame that the most subtile part of this BWV-work is often abandoned, the fugue..But for the rest, it is ok, and sounds good. With kind regards, etude.
Excellent technique- love the registration. This goes for the T&F in D minor, too. However as JSW said- perhaps slightly slower in practise. Where/what is this organ?
I think your technique is very good. I liked your phrasing more than some professional artists would record. The use of reed stops made it a very original and fresh interpretation. Maybe if you took it slower you'd eliminate those occasional slips.
nice, you are almost to be ready

don't bother about some of the comments, you're on the right way, you have the technique, keep practicing, slowly, and the speed gradually comes!

What organ are you using? That is pretty good.

When one goes messing up like you did,I suggest:stop and start from a white sheet=
Study it again, practice it slowly and you'll get better results - it's a marvellous work
and deserves adequate renditions.
I heartily hope listening to you again, and I tell you do not give in.
Greetings =

sloppy job. Look at Johan Sigvard Jensen, Church Organ: J.S. Bach: "Dorisk Toccata BWV 538"
from jacobwaage how to play it.
zareczky 4 years ago
I loooked that one up. But still liked this one much better, actually, with much more temper, drama and speed.
I also have the Prof. Schneider-recording from ages ago. This one sounds quite like it in many ways.

Comments on technique. Hmmm... Maybe a smile once in a while. haha. There did seem to be a few moments of hesitation, but otherwise beautiful.
