232Ric, I am sorry but you are mistaken, I worked for a Baja dealer 2008, 26, 30 and 35 OL had a liner that replaced the stringers, and sorry they do delaminate from hull, their are NO STRINGERS in 2008 models, feel free to go inspect a model from 2008 year the "liner" in the engine compartment is smooth and glossy if you remove a thru bolt you will see it is a empty shell. Thus why Brunswick got the hell out many lawsuits, Fountain put stringers back in for 2009 model year.
This guy doesn't know chit, the 26 OUTLAW by Brunswick (former BAJA) has NO STRINGERS, built with liner construction, that falls apart. Thank you to Fountain for putting stringers back into the Baja's, now they don't fall apart.
@tampawill2002 : Not correct. Baja's have always had stringers. Liner construction has nothing to do with that. The liner is simply the construction of the deck and interior, not the hull. Fountain actually took away the one piece liner (which was superior, but Fountain saw it as overkill) and switched to a "stick built" deck/interior.
@GOGOTRON50 I was thinking about getting a used Baja Outlaw 24-26 and thought that they are well built for the money. I'm handy w/ the wrenches but not so much so w/ fiberglass. I've read only a few neg. comments about Bajas and your's is specific to my main concern - hull strength and durability, I've busted up a few boats and require a rugged boat for 100% saltwater use. What would you say is a better built boat in this category? Much appreciated.
@CBAsystems yes it is possible (it will fit). But for what you would spend you may as well get a bigger boat (maybe a 30 Outlaw) with twin 496HO's for $90K. If you do a search you can find a few 26 Outlaw's for sale with 525's in them but I have never seen a Merc 600 in a 26 Outlaw.
@philthy73 thanks I just want to cruise economically but have little extra power so yes you are right what I need is 30 ft with perhaps two smaller more fuel efficient
engines in a 30 ft leading up to 600 to 700 hp would be perfect..just what I need...yes 30 ft with best of best two smaller engines.
should be like cobalt or chaparral with that in mind leave the head in a separate compartment then the cabin but because it's in the cabin I wouldn't use it because of that
@cumminsturbofan101 most of the 26 Outlaw's do not come with the head, we don't have one in ours. I would not want one in this boat plus its a great place for storage.
@i22trucker Yeah horrible---but if you going to take the ladies out for weekend gotta have place for them to PISSS..no POO....throw-em on an ISLAND for that ...ahhhh!

@philthy73 need at least 550 HP but will be happy with 30 ft something that cruises at 60 to 70 and wide open at 85 MPH.
