Man, even though Pat doesn't do Hobo anymore 'cos he doesn't "feel it", it still pisses me off when people deride the band for their "message". You never hear people saying that great poets like Sylvia Plath who write about their depression are sending out a "bad message". It's just commentary on a certain point in people's lives. People with depression do feel bummed out and apathetic a lot of the time, and they do turn to drugs. Hobo didn't condone that behaviour, but they understood it.
these people choose to live like this. with every subculture no matter what it is, there will always be bad apples. MOST of these people are working for social change and are not people who drink a bunch and act like idiots, unfortunately the event had some problems, that does not account for everybody.
i think spelling errors are cool. it shows your not a "im better than you" person and that you make mistakes just like everyone else. also, making fun of distros on youtube comments is absurd. you should video tape your comments and post emm on youtube, thats the cool avantgarde thing to do. you can do some seinfeld style "what's the deal with those anarcho punx"

I did not know, however, that we represented the anarchist community. It's unfortunate, as there are numerous places to represent them much better, even though their publications may also have typos. Uh, oh.
perhaps it wasn't clear what was happening. the "direct action" was one person breaking into a karate studio supposedly to have a place to sleep. There were several dozen places that people could sleep without bringing heat onto everyone. i don't think it requires a "pro-business capitalist" to not want to be hassled by the cops. it's unnecessary and weird macho behavior that makes you break into a building WHILE security is watching you and telling you they're gonna call the cops.
I was actually there for a couple of days. I was the other drunk with the crutches. there was 2 of us that were crippled at the time. but I left to go to toledo after like 4 days.

Apparently Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains.
Which is quite odd because Johnny was a straight edge. His songs were of satyrical humour about drugs and depression.
Guess it's wasted on some people.
