This dancing appears to be way out of sync wiht the music - much more than the frequent slight youtube mis-sync.

No, that is how Susana Miller dances. So it looks like the follower is initiating but in actuality the leader (Susana Miller) is a great leader therefore making it a easy to follow her. Ive dance with her and it is quite pleasant. =)
