  • @hendrixjon your dumb

  • @hendrixjon Because CRF450's suck. XR650's, both R's and L's, are the shit.

  • shes a fire breathing monster i love xrs

  • Hace poco corri en una xr600 del año 88 y la verdad tan mal no quede, de echo el motor es inmortal y durisimo, claro las suspensiones han mejorado dramaticamente a la fecha....XR600 Rocks!!!!

  • Fuckin noobs. Ever heard of fork seals wearing out on long endurance races because they are always in the dirt and sand? The whole world aint a groomed supercross track.

  • Nitrodrums75 .... This is what you can do..and get super results...Have LA Sleave make it into a 710cc , then a pipe...K&N Filter...and finally a XR650 HRC Bullet Cam...Very reliable..You'll be on a different bike should put out i'd say 47 HP. You'll like it..I did this once before my XR650R.

    Your 650L will cook !!!

  • A pipe and desmog with a new Carb Jetting... Mine ram like puke stock... after the above mods its a totally different bike!!!!!

  • way to lean you need a bigger main jet or carb ,those things make that snapping sound when theyre to lean...but the good news is it will run even better at 10,000 feet elevation

  • no, you are very wrong, they make that 'snapping sound' wich is actually popping becuase of backfire, (too much fuel wich means the bikes too RICH) he needs a smaller jet and needs to run it leaner. NOT richer.

  • Every bike will backfire on the dyno, proper jetting or not.

  • jetting en??

  • I used my XR for commuting, supermoto track days, off roading, everything. I thrashed the crap out of it for 13,000 miles and with the exception of the clutch bearing and a seal, it was faultless. A CRF would have been though 4 total rebuilds by 13,000 miles and wouldn't have done what I needed it to do, i.e. get me to work with a smile without all the hassle of a new piston every 10 hours.

  • si mi amigo es asi!!!

  • the old xr's had the best engines ever.

    highly reliable, amazing endurance.

    i love mine!!!!

  • @CaptainCropper beautifully stated, perfect bike for specific needs, the big red pig is my favorite bike for the money for life

  • @CaptainCropper true and i know which one id rather be sitting on at 60mph :) the 450R would be revving its guts out

  • Stock 650R is roughly 42 HP..Uncorked they run 53 HP..With the full hop up HRC your looking at 63 HP at the rear wheel..In short very fast...Thats what i have and it way faster than my CR500..

  • somebody knows how many hp have the jhonny campbell brp?

  • And how does the main jet limit fuel when the needle is all the way in the hole on decel?

  • Popping on a closed throttle is idle jet, change it to the 68s idle jet. (if you dont get the S it will still pop when you close the throttle)

  • Still can't beat a XR650R. If your in shape it's the best bike for all around use period. I have an Aprilia RXV 550 and my xr680r is still faster and more reliable and only 20lbs heavier.

  • BRPJockey: as much as i like the aprillas i wouldnt buy one. they are ncie and all but not my bike .

  • Nah, Vertemati, bad BAD move, thing exploded after a couple of hundred miles, I spent £900 on a rebuild then swapped it for a Montesa 315R. The

Vert exploded on the new owner within weeks. Poor oil supply to the bottom end on early Verts I guess.

  • nice bike Captain! I guess u sold it for a Katoom...?

  • Popping on a closed throttle is idle jet, didn't have a bigger one so left it. Most open pipe supermotos pop like buggery anyway.

  • No, You have an after market exhaust. It's too lean when the spark is retarded.

Go up one on the main and it will stop popping.

Hell you got a dyno, try it. Bet you even get a little more out of it.

  • Too lean!

You need to go up one on the main jet.

Then all that back fire and popping will go away.

  • Yep, it's an XR650R. Never had trouble myself with the buckles. Biggest mistake I made selling that bike, it rocked! 13,000 miles, trackdays, off roading, commuting. Ran it on Halfords Basic mineral oil, changed every 600 miles. Great bike.

  • is that an XR650R or XR650L?

  • it looks like an xr650r to me.

  • its an R notice the little buckles on the left hand guard for the air box, those things are a baitch to redo after cleaning the filter :P
