for all the people arguing bout this aint the roots and pat.this song is off gangsta grillz 15 the welcome home party project pat and yes its the roots
I first heard this song from finding it on my ipod, but i don't remember downloading it or putting it on their. Been a huge Pat, Paul, 36 fan for a long time. On my ipod it says this is from Crook By The Book, but I KNOW that's not true.Dj Paul has two kinds of production- the laid back, smoke and chill beats, and the club bangers. I really think this could very well be the former.
this aint even the fucking roots this is the nappy roots you fucking retards. the roots would never do a song with project pat lol. you guys are fucking retarded lol!
@sl0wloudnbangin you sound like a god damn idiot. what the fuck does being a slick hater have to do with the fact that i know the difference between the roots and the other rap group that goes by the name the nappy roots? look it up you dumb fucks this isnt a roots song! this is a fact and all you dumb idiots realy think the roots would do a song with project pat. it just doesnt make sense it doesnt match up!. this is the nappy roots with project pat not the roots!
@sl0wloudnbangin its just a leaked song that didnt make it on any of their albums. this shit came out a few years ago so you most likely wont find it on a mixtape or anything
@MrJuicesm i find it real funny when people try to argue with me when im never wrong about shit like this. the roots never did a song with project pat this is the nappy roots. black thought does not rp in this wack style. and theres more then one nigga rapping on this song and the roots only has one rapper and thats black thought. get over it faggot. this is the nappy roots. and the retarded fucksuck who put this shit on here needs to delete it.
@lowart44 why are you guys soo fucking stupid? listen tot he voice and lyrical content. blackthought would never say the shit these faggots are talking about. get it through yall heads. you will not find nothing with project pat and the roots. if you have to look through youtube again for this same song and it will be the nappy roots not THE ROOTS!
@lordjoyous wow you can't just let it go that they did a track with Project Pat. I doubt people would be fooled for about 10 years that this isn't really the Roots, this was suppose to be on phrenology, but was scrapped and the Nappy Roots never did a song with Project Pat, go ahead, google it
@gasoline you must be trolling very hard. black thought doesnt rap like that and the song has other rappers on it. the roots only have one front man and thats black thought. get it through your head its not the fucking roots
@lordjoyous Ok and Jill Scott doesn't sound like shes from Africa, but she uses the accent playing Storm in the Black Panther animated series, so what are you saying ??? and I guess we are going to forget Malik B was in the group, actually this was the last song he was in before he left the group. Get it through your head they did a record with Project Pat
@gasoline what the fuck does jillscoot have to do with this you idiot?. the only reaosn the majority of you retards think this is the roots is bekuz you believe whats infront of you with out any kind of common sense. the nappy roots where talking about doing a song with project pat a long long fucking time ago befor they even did this song. so tell me why do you assume this is the roots smart guy? the llyrical content is nothing like the roots. ima shut this shit down in a bit tho.
@gasoline the confusing thing is that shit dont even sound like the roots and i never heard blackthought rap like that. i see why this song would be scrapped its garbage and doesnt sound like the roots
Does anybody know how this song came together did The Roots go to Memphis or did Pat go to Philly?, they wouldn't normally work together. Pat and The Roots strange but a nice fit.

Project Pat is my favorite rapper, maybe you should check out some of his older stuff or some of the Hypnotize Minds library. His newer material is not as good, in my opinion.
Also, many people seem to prefer east coast rap over anything, but I've always listened to the dudes from the south and west coast.
I agree. The biggest problem I have with his newer tracks is that they seem to be putting less and less effort into their hooks. Of his last few albums most of the hooks are too formulaic and repetetive. Aside from the hooks though, I can listen to him ramble on all day.
I never saw this collaboration coming. Project kills me with his word play. lol
"Turn into a monster, Michael Jack-Thrill-liluh. You gone have to bow down to me like I'm Hitl-luh."
Unfortunately this happens a lot anymore. Usually to land a record deal an artist will have some really good tracks (or they wouldn't even be heard), but a record label will sign them to a multi-album deal to milk their talent. So in order to make their contract and get paid, they have no choice but to pump new stuff out.
The phenoms (2pac, Eminem, Jay-Z and the like) are able to continue making good stuff, but with any form of art you have to imagine the difficulty in making such deadlines.
i recommend these project pat songs. don't turn around, life we live, take da charge, crack a head wagon wheels, street lady, still ridin' clean, i choose you, and ain't scared of ya.
THIS 1 OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIMES EASY!!!!!!!!! AND LAME CRITICS PROBABLY THOUGHT THIS COLLAB WOULD BE A DISASTER
