  • best.teacher.ever.

    seriously, thanks a lot!

  • thank u maam...u r indeed the best

  • INDIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @10:00 proline's N should have 2 H's or shouldn't be positively charged.

  • mam...i am student of Biochemistry(Hons)...your lectures are so greatful to me.I have lost my words to respect you mam.God Bless you.

  • i watch this for fun

  • @philipee32 u r sick :P .. J/king :D

  • Thank you soo much, none of this would make sense to me before! life saver really :)

  • only fools will give u bad comments mam...take it lite...and thank you verymuch for the classes...hope u will upload more like this....thank you.

  • wow she is so goooooooooood, thank you very much !!!!!!

  • After viewing this lecture, I understood the concepts much better! It makes studying for my Biochem exams much easier as well! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the informative and detailed lecture :)

  • Lord Jesus bless u madam. Thank u..

  • hi, where to find your playlist video ? Can you make a name of all this video? thanks

  • I learned this when i was in 5th grade becouse i was so curious

  • You made Biochem so much easier to understand..can you do microbiology lectures aswell please? i would be really grateful if you could do that..:)

  • TO IT! @22:05 xD

  • thank you

  • well be cool if translaite in Russian languages

  • Does anyone recognize the OS and Desktop she's using? The widget set looks like Tk.

  • 16 people apparently feel that this video threatens their religious faith.

  • Lifesaver as supplement to taking class. She is a wonderful teacher.

  • @mgulizio She takes her work seriously. It's pretty obvious that she puts a lot of effort into each lecture, likely doing a number of rehearsals before the main event. I have so much respect for lecturers who do that. One of my favorites, Walter Lewin, teaches physics at MIT. He rehearses each lecture 3 times before a volunteer audience.

I contrasted him with Leonard Susskind in the comments section of a Stanford video. Susskind comes to class totally unprepared. And I got modded into oblivion.

  • thank you so much!

  • thank you so much. i love how you speak very slowly and make it very clear.

  • @2:05 are the letters and words kinda squirming around???

  • Hey guys, I'm an idiot.

Can someone explain to me how Proline is an imino acid. There aren't any C=N bonds?

    Thanks.

  • @ThebanPhalanx I was wondering the same question. She show the N3H bond in the structures but not on the beginning

  • Awesome!

  • These are really good videos which helped a lot.

I've downloaded the lectures on Basics of Electronics previously and now I'm going to download this course on Biochemistry which I hope will help me A LOT in my college.

I wanted to ask about is where are the other branches of Medicine like Anatomy , Physiology, Histology etc.

If they are available here I think the internet -in my point of view- will be this channel only.

And by the way the English pronunciation of the prof is awesome.

  • this is from Indian university ? damn they have better profs. than USA

  • Very helpful! Thank you very much! You are much better than my professor.

  • really helpful vedio.... i hope u all will continue the gud wrk.... iit rocks

  • Very helpful.

  • Now we're talking.. VERY glad i found this channel. Expect your view numbers to jump

  • I am a pharmacology major and I need to write an essay about biochemistry.

  • A lifesaver! Now I have the basic knowledge needed to comprehend nasty textbooks like Harper. Thank you very much for this very informative lesson on Amino Acids.

  • Thank you very much, it was very helpful in understanding amino acids. I am a graduate student in States and you taught far better than my teacher. Stay blessed

  • clever litttle bitch . smile

  • thx alot :) iv been doing my own research into the subject as im doing my A levels and i hope to do biochem at uni :)

  • 13:43 Shouldn't the nitrogen on the imino acid proline be bonded to 2 hydrogen atoms and not just one? It has only three bonds and yet has a positive charge. Nitrogen atoms have a positive charge when bonded to four atoms, not three.

  • lol...

  • wow! thank you very much.

  • where is lecture 2? i can only find this one and then number 3?

  • can i find this in spanish? i'm trying to get some edge because i'm gonna study micro biology and well bio chemistry.. and for this i want to learn Chemistry like a true Scientist.. oh in case you are wondering.. i'm no an A+.. i just have a dream and a life goal

  • @lambovsatan225 u r planning to do 2 bachelor degrees? I'm planning to do my second one, and I think I'm weird didn't know somebody wud think like me.

  • @sunjz Actually no haha =p

i'm 18 years old and trying to finish Middle School via Equivalence test but i'm already planning what i want to major in .. either that or History which is actually my forte

and yeah haha i know..i "real" sciense isn't just for the "Gifted"

  • @lambovsatan225 But if you are still not in college, why do you have to study this video, I think it's a little too difficult for high school? May be I'm wrong. U guys study this is high school?

  • @sunjz ah well here in tijuana, mexico which is where i live, they teach only teach the basics and i don't think there any colleges nearby where i can major in bio chemistry or bio engeenering or the like..

now i'm watching the videos out of personal interest =)

  • @lambovsatan225 Very admirable. You are going to do great in life! Keep that enthusiasm high up.

  • @sunjz haha thanks! i hope so.. i'm still on my courses for the Middle School Equivalence test and i have yet to finish High School.. i'd like to work perhaps on the genetics field .. i've always been interested in that stuff.. i mean i don't know the periodic table, i still have a lot to learn.. and everybody tells me i should just major in History because i would just waste my time =/

  • @lambovsatan225 I don't think chasing your interest/dream is a waste of time. From my understanding, you are doing a homeschooling right? Nevertheless, I truly admire your interest in chasing what you believe and love to do. Please don't let other people stop you from that by using the word "waste of time". If you are out drinking and not going to school, then I'd call that a waste of time. But what you are doing is definitely not a waste of time.

  • @lambovsatan225 Moreover, If you like genetic engineering then I think you should try that first. If eventually it doesn't work out then go for history. (If you want). About chemistry, I think you should check out "Markrosengarten". He teaches the best chemistry. You will learn everything you need to know for a high school level and first year university from him. ;)

  • @sunjz I love Sir markrosengarten's teaching WOW what a teacher .............! Hats off sir.

  • She is great! very detailed and informative, well done

  • nerdcore, represent!!!!

  • @noclassatall she cant do everything, that's basic, look it up...

  • haha funny how you diss on Indians yet you use Indian shit to TRY and be smart hahahahahahaha North Korean loser... wait... North Korean?? nah.. i think you are chinese...or japanese??? ah.. same shit

  • Could someone please help me understand what does the "Pka Value" mean at the 11:29 mark? Also In my Cell Bio textbook, where it explains the the L and D isomers of the amino acids, it says that the L form begins with the NH3+, however, it her lecture the L form actually begins with the COO-. Has some else noticed this? Thank you

  • @quispe7 If you notice closely, the L form in this lecture also has the single H atom depicted as projecting out of the page, toward the viewer, and the R side group projecting into the page, further from the viewer. Some texts depict the R group coming out of the page, thereby making the L form of the amino acid correct by placing the amino group to the right. Hope this helps your visualization.

  • good video, i just wish you would stop showing her face and just show the slides

  • thnx a lot for publishing these great info. :))

  • I think Jay-Z said it best. Thank God for granting me this moment of clarity.

  • Very well done. I added biochem a week into the semester, and was a little behind. This video really caught me up to speed. Thanks.

  • This was a model of clarity - very helpful. Thankyou!

  • 9 People Obviously are Hopeless when it comes to Biochem xD

  • @JunaydMS 10 now lol...

  • @drbecks2017 hahaha yea...

  • I'm a senior in high school, I've already taken or am in AP biology, AP chemistry, AP physics, and AP Calculus BC. I decided to start teaching myself Biochem and these videos have been a great help!

  • @TheBassguitarking nobody wants to know you're lifestory dude lol jk good job!

  • thank you. your video was a blessing

  • biochem the cross of the greats....... Chem & bio

  • I'm in love...

  • rong at 9:12, amino gr. L -form, shud be in felt position

  • enjoy watching ur video

  • you are the best..i enjoyed watching your vid than to sitting in a boring class of my prof. i understand the lessons better here than her explanation.

  • Wow, People. Just learn your nucleophiles and electrophiles, acid/base chemistry, and this is piece of cake.

    Great Video, big High Five

  • i really liked it how can i get it?

  • Thanks to you and your university for allowing these lectures to be posted up.

Some comments on your lecturing style: Professor I like how you ask questions and then give answers, it prompts us to think about what you are saying. You are also so patient, for you this material must be repetitive and very easy.

    Thanks again!

  • ok so i always thought glycine was the other way round! HELP!

  • does it stop with you in the middle too?please if anyone knows why tell me!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @fairgood123456 do you have att uverse?

  • I WAS SO CONFUSED AND LOST, SHE IS AMAZINGLY CLEAR AND TO THE POINT, WE ARE BLESSED!

  • Answering 300+ questions on USMLE correctly is the key to passing the exam with great scores. We can show you how to do that successfully. Visit us on YouTube: Institute For Board prep

  • Fantastic! Thank you very much. Will watch your next lectures for sure. USA

  • You are GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you:)

  • She is the best lecturer... ever!

  • does she say zig hiel group at 15:14?

  • This has been more than helpful. Thank you so much madam.

  • thank you

  • notice at 16:00, that the alanine and the valine R groups 'combine' to make the leucine R group, and rearrange to form the isoleucine R group.

  • I think she is great! Im a beginner. Now taking my 1st BIO class and I think this REALLY helps... Thank you!

  • yes I agree with frany...I thikn she is great at explaining axactly what is goin on and makes it easier to comprehend. Thank you!

  • great proffesor haha i have an exam next week and i know i'll be ready with this!!!

  • BEST LECTURE OF BIOCHEMISTRY!!!

  • brilliant 10/10

  • This is an excellent video. Yes, you can find a charge out of place in a few places, but if you know your organic chemistry then you can catch these simple errors. I am using this along with my biochemistry book and school lectures. This really helps.

  • Dr.Dasgupta is the best teacher ! I'm so greatful to her for this fantastic lecture series , I'm able to sit through her lectures and prepare myself for a graduate course without a background in bio chem . This lecture series is a treasure trove for any student. simply amazing ! Thank you sooooooooo much Dr.Dasgupta ... You are the BEST !

  • In proline, should it be NH2+, instead of NH+.? i think is a mistake

  • @juanfelix14 you are correct

  • I'm confused...I thought cysteine was nonpolar...why is it identified here as polar?

  • @1026mreyes It is polar but counted as UNCHARGED. Polar due to the OH that can hydrogen bond with water or such compounds.

  • shes a good teacher

  • Very Helpful... I understand perfectly i do rewind a bit though coz ur words are gold...i wish i found this sooner...

  • I wish I could speed this up... she talks too slow.

  • I couldnt resist to compliment.. even before completing your first class.. AWESOME MAM

  • I love this subject. That's why I'm going to major in it ;)

  • I understood nothing in class but you have made it so much easier to understand. Thank you very much! I wish i started watching these when class started, there's so much to catch up on!

  • lol anyone else see the writing moving at 1:42 and wonder if they were tripping out?

  • wonderful lecture! She is so clear. thank you for posting!

  • prof. you are great and i respect you . thanks

  • It's exceptional how someone can teach such a complicated subject so clearly. I think the trick is speaking slowly. Yes, that has to be it.

  • @deefromott it also probably has to do with knowing the subject like the back of your hand

  • WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

    AWESOME LECTURE MAAM

  • thanks alot, its amazing, Prof. Dasgupta made it so easy to understand.

  • Namasthei, thank you Professor. I am not Indian, I am Israeli but I know some word in Hindu. We stand with the people of India =)

  • please post biochem 2 lecture series - kreb cycle!

  • I am so happy that I found this!!!! You are so amazing for this thank you thank you thank you :)!!!!!!!

  • Very good and eloquent English ;D

  • She indian? I seem to be noticing that india has some extremely good lecturers. Maybe theyre just more excited by science than us nowadays. Brilliant to see great minds giving great lectures, but a shame theyre few and far between

  • Thank you very much for sharing your lectures, you just save me from long-term confusion. Your lectures are easier to understand.

  • Fantastic.. hope I understood sometihng about those valuable 20 amino acids running through my blood even when typing these. Looking forward to watch the second part as well..

    Thanks a lot.

  • Very good

  • One of the best classes online. I liked the very clear, formal, complete description of the subject matter, repeating key points in a concise professional manner. This type of teaching will always be appropriate in a classroom and the students grateful for such focus.

  • Thank You.

    Professor S.Dasgupta

Although I have no idea what you are talking about in the A = ECl part

Hopefully I will understand it later.

    Now for Lesson 2

  • Great idea. I'm already past this. But great idea.

  • If only I had found this video earlier, I could get an A++...... But tomorrow exam's at least this topic Could make me score..

  • God Keep India..I love its people too much <3

  • I took biochemistry around 2 semesters ago and totally forgot everything until now. This is great. Thank you sooooooo much. Please continue to upload more videos.

  • its actually i m nt telling that ur lecture is big bore but students like their studies to be more intresting if i wanted this kind of lecture i could have heard in my college so try make a diferent thing on video any way there is u teach good thnxxx

  • @lubnalouie idiot, this was one of the best lectures ive ever seen. concise, professional, to the point.

  • Trully gifted educator that can teach. Bravo

  • "God: Hidden Science" - Google it!

  • What an excellent lecturer. Clear, concise, and well structured. 5 stars.

  • that was awesome! thank you! <3

  • asdfasdfasdf

  • biochem is a fascinating subject. Lehninger is a work of art. Hope you have a good memory ;-)

  • goood help to who are student and go to research area

    thanks thnaks

  • Thanks mam.I couldn't have studied biochem without you!

  • Helped me so much ty

  • i am a medicine student

your biochem lectures are too good to ignore

can u tell me where can i get similar videos of medical lectures

i need them badly to cope up with my acadamics

  • that was good!!!

  • 12 weeks of biochemistry n only now hve i managed 2 understand the stuctures of amino acids which i was taught in week 1 but didnt get anything. thnk u so much

  • video lectures rock

  • really i understood amin acid...i couldn't understand even a word from my doctor

  • how were u able to upload a whole hour on youTube?!? could you pls let me know?

    AP.

  • Hiya, just add it to your favorites and then it always comes back up whenever you log into favorites and choose it. x

  • This is a premium youtube channel. When you reach about 6 thousand or more subscribers, there is an option to apply for premium (which is free), with it you earn money if somebody clicks your ads, AND you get an option of uploading a video longer than 10 minutes.

  • @youngnewtonian

Hey, I am A Research Associate and Am into Polymers and BioChemistry.

I would like to Present Lectures(Hour Long or more) as though I am Teaching Them to the students/Rather than Lecturing or Professing.

Can You please help me how to upload videos which are hour long?

I have good experience of teaching undergraduates.

I would also, like to give the Reference for Each Topic as used to do my Physics Teacher in high school.

  • Well, you can't do it right now. You will have to reach about 5000-6000 subscribers first. BUT an alternative is to upload hour long vids on video(dot)google(dot)com and then share its clippings on youtube and put the original google video link there.

  • Thanks A Lot, Young Newtonian!!!

  • You are a great teacher! Congratulations

  • Wow i really understood amino acids by her better than my lecturer...:)))) Thanks!!!!

  • Pure an 1

  • That was awesome. Loved every moment. Learned soo much along the way.

  • I've added it to me favourites, I promise I'll watch it later

  • the secondary amino group of proline is positively charged (at physiologic pH) with 2 hydrogens, not one as shown here..

  • for all you athletes, luecine is essential for muscle growth or rather faster muscle growth.

Her accent was fine. she is a good speaker. i couldn't help but notice however that the screen being recorded was kind of wavy. it was messing with my head.

i love learning about the basic forms of life that are logical for our understanding of the human experience. some of the great philosophers believe that "matter" does not exist, simply because "matter" is sort of an interference pattern.

  • what a wonderful lecture from Dr. Dasgupta , comprehensive , with a pleasant speaking voice. Big help!

  • A pretty cool explanation!. It was very useful
