Oh, sure, we can't assume it's the Dale Jr fans, I mean, they only threw cans of beer and debris at him anytime he'd win at Talladega. 2004 is when any level headed NASCAR fan saw how ridiculously hateful Dale Jr's fanbase was. Gordon beat their precious Junior at Talladega, and they littered the track beyond recognition.

It's unreal how people cheer when he wrecks. That wreck nearly ended his career, as it began the long fought battle against a bad back. They are most likely Dale Jr fans, so the only thing they have to cheer for is a Jeff Gordon wreck.

Wrecks that almost claim lives are wrecks like Ernie Irvin's at Michigan, Geoff Bodine's at Daytona in the first truck race, Rusty Wallace's flips at both Daytona and Talladega where he had injuries in both wrecks -- not someone who slams the wall then get out of the car on their own power.

@b00mYou actually contrary to your statement, Gordon was in a worse spot then at least Rusty Wallace here, (cant say the same for Bodine cause that wreck can be compared too) Because the crashes you have to worry about are the hard impacts like these. Gordon didnt almost die, that is a dumb statement, but this wreck is much more likely to claim a life than a flip. This was a serious accident, and its aways frightful when you see huge impacts like these.

I have a good buddy of mine that works teardown crew at Hendrick. When they came back in Monday morning and they looked in the car, the back of the block was pushed through the firewall a good 2 inches. If that had been the old car and not the COT, Jeff Gordon likely would have been killed in this wreck.
