  • The Yanks have a Lot of talent to choose from, but there must be room for Reggie Jackson or Roger Maris!!

  • players from now are INCOMPARABLE to the players back then, now there is so much more skill and technique. those legends wouldn't be able to handle nolan ryan pitching. babe ruth would've hit like 100 home runs if he played now.

  • That lineup is murder against a RHP.

  • Lineup and 25 Man Roster: 1. Jeter, SS 2. DiMaggio, CF 3. Gherig, IB 4. Ruth, RF 5. Mantle, LF 6. Rodriguez, 3B, 7. Maris, DH, 8. Berra, C. 9. Cano, 2B. Reserves: (IF) Mattingly, Randolph, Nettles (OF) Winfield, Murcer, O'Neil (C) Dickey, Howard, Munson, Posada (DH) Jackson, (P-starting) Ford, Hunter, Guidry, Pettite (P-rel) Rivera. Let's not forget the great catchers. I'd rather see Nettles 3B, but not popularity contest. 2B too soon to tell. Yes Maris- my 1 sympathy vote.

  • The Yankees could field 2 or 3 line ups in this genre, that would beat a lot of clubs all time list

  • my all-time batting lineups are better

  • ROBINSON CANO

  • My Yankees All-Time Lineup 1. (2) Jeter SS 2. (13) Rodriguez 3B 3. (4) Gehrig DH 4. (3) Ruth OF 5. (7) Mantle OF 6. (5) DiMaggio OF 7. (23) Mattingly 1B 8. (8) Berra C 9. (6) Lazzieri 2B Rotation: (16) Ford, (49) Guidry, (11) Gomez, (30) Stottlemyre, (15) Ruffing Set up man: (54) Gossage Closer: (42) Rivera Manager: (37) Stengel.
  • where reggie jackson

  • reggie jackson?

  • i would make Babe ruth the DH and put Dave Winfield in right, i would also replace willie Randolph with Tonny Lazzari and graig Nettles with A-Rod, now thats the hitting line up of all hitting line ups.

  • Mistakes:

    Rizzuto over Jeter (sorry girls)

Lazzeri over Randolph (this is a no-brainer! Come on, wake up!)

Boyer over Nettles (Boyer just toooo good)

Otherwise, how could you go wrong with Mantle, Ruth and DiMaggio in the outfield and Gehrig at first???

  • @LazlosPlane --Boyer was a phenomenal fielder but Nettles was far better hitter. No way does Rizzuto make this team.

  • definitely Tony Lazzeri over Randolph

  • It may be unfair to penalize A-Rod for not having any success in the postseason especially when you put Don Mattingly in the argument. If Don Mattingly had the opportunities to play in the postseason that A-Rod has had. He will 3 or 4 rings right now. Jeter had 3 or 4 rings before A-Rod was in a Yankee uniform. A-Rod may be the greatest offensive machine of our time but I think he is a tad overrated in terms of the most important thing in baseball....winning. He falls apart in the clutch.

  • Arod in the post season : .279/.361/485

Reggie Jackson in the post season: .278/.358/.527

Arod's "Unclutchness", if there is such a thing, is severely overstated.

  • @OPSportsInc

Yeah he fell apart last October and November when he took them to the World Series and won. HE JUST CHOKED

  • @OPSportsInc ---and A Roid is such a blatant cheater he doesnt belong in such esteemed company as these legends.. Shame Reggie Jackson couldnt be on the list--yanks just have had way too many superstars over many decades

  • Nettles over Arod?

  • It's all about the rings. Nettles won 3 of them with Reggie, Billy and company in the 1970s'. Plus the guy could hit and play defense. Not like A-Rod but good enough to win. Bottom line...he is a winner

  • Sorry but when evaluating one player versus another it's not about "the rings". Nettles was lucky enough to be on very good teams that happened to win the world series. He was good defensively but Arod is infinitely better. No matter how you look at it Arod is the best third baseman the yankees have ever had. How is he not a "winner"?

  • I agree I mean Nettles is a good player, but when comparing him to A-rod...theres NO contest

Rings dont count. Sadly alot of people look at it that way. Thats why Donny Baseballs not in the HOF

  • Yes, of course.

    But Boyer over Nettles.

  • you have 2 third baseman and no 1st baseman.

  • I have Lou Gehrig playing first base. Graig Nettles is the third baseman. Actually I have two first baseman in the montage if you include Mattingly but I have him as DH.

  • Oh yeah. Sorry. My eyes played tricks on me. I thought I saw two 3rd baseman at first. LOL.

  • It's cool. No problem. We are all human.

  • fantastic video but mickey mantle was a CF

  • Great video! I enjoyed it.
