@lfd0311 Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
The longer I listened to this, the more it became apparent there were two conversations going on: Why some claim protesters are angry (being screwed in the current economy), which makes them sympathetic figures and why they're really angry (their contempt of capitalism...all of it) which makes them little less than a joke.
They don't want to work, they want everything easy or for free. When I first started out I washed dishes for a living and slowly built myself up from there. I did whatever I could to make it and I had to make plenty of sacrifices without taking a dime in "assistance" from anyone, especially the govt. I busted my BUTT and now I have a little something. I don't feel that ANYONE is entitled to anything that I have worked so hard to EARN. They need to quit bitching and GO TO WORK wherever they can!
It's not about jobs...it's like a kid claiming he can't clean his room after making sure he threw away all the cleaning products first. These are self entitled schmucks who think they are entitled to something at someone elses expense, hard work is their enemy, and everything wrong in their life is someone elses fault. They are truly the weakest link.
until the government gets out of the economy all together this problem won't go away. The public schools have been working hard to make sure we have a whole new batch of devout "occupiers" on the streets this summer.
yeah nice 1% propaganda right here. keep living the illution of the american dream and accept your role as a wage slave and lose your home, lose your car and lose your everything when rich get a bailout and the fed inflates the dollar. this video is so throwing dust in the eyes of people.
Another classic exposure of the lazy, self entitled and mentally ill losers that make up the great majority of OWS.
OWS is the great excuse platform for every unemployable failure in America, It's not their fault they're losers "it's the banks"...LMAO !
Human garbage like these people, are the cancers that kill great nations...Thanks U.S. media and supreme hypocrite college professors, for enabling our destroyers.
Bulls**t description in the extreme. These aren't job OFFERS, they're copies of applications. A job application and a buck will get you a candy bar. No one is turning down an offer of a middle management job, because no one is actually offering one here. Come talk to me after you've applied to 200 positions without getting so much as a call back. These people aren't dumb. There's a big difference between "lazy" and "giving up after a year of fruitless searching."
what garbage these hypocritical, socialist, "know-everything" morons are....their problem is two fold, they are lazy and self indulgent, the exact opposite of what it takes to make it in Capitalistic society. Their parents should have whipped the socialism out of them early. LMAO, utterly pathetic.
I love that the idiots making this video act like all these people are Obama supporters. If you want to be funny that's one thing, but at least make a joke that shows you're intelligent.
@phatsexxy70 MOST of these lazy freaks voted for Obama and are so dumb to the bone they will do it again. Vids. like this and others prove the last thing THESE people want is jobs.
By re-electing the commie-ander and cheif, they can stay on goverment assistance and keep pretending they are victims of oppression rather than entitlement and their own laziness.
The people that really want and deserve jobs know that as long as this 3rd gen marxist is president there will be none to have..
@bigbluesparky Where is your polling on that? Or even some anecdotal evidence. I even watched Victoria Jackson's video asking occupiers questions. To a man they don't say they are fans of the President. If they were they wouldn't be protesting against his biggest financial backers. Go back to watching FOX News and quit talking to people outside your bubble if you can't handle the truth.
@phatsexxy70 I don't need any "pole" to have common sence & make a good judgment of the man or loser standing in front of me.
If these wastes really wanted jobs they would be in front of the white house
Where are the "occupy the white house" protesters ?
This scumbag hand puppet, that the US media "created", once again killed a massive job creator in the keystone pipeline, not to mention reducing our dependance on american hating muslim oil.
I'm sure pipeline work is too hard though ..Right?
@bigbluesparky I don't think you need a "pole" for that. I think it would be helpful to prove your point to having a poll though. I'm glad you have good "common sence" as well. I have some good common sense. I commonly understand that you hate these people so the chances that you have discussed with more than a handful their voting histories is very low.
Also, you can go check out "Occupy DC." You're not allowed on the White House lawn, or I suspect they would be there.
@johnysocal Yes, listening to the people of OWS speak from their own mouths and filming it, so it cannot be denied, is "propaganda" of the highest order LOL!
We're all sorry, that dumb lazy losers and drug addicts are their own worst enemy.
This video honestly makes me feel better about illegal immigrants. You see, at least Mexicans understand that you need to WORK to survive, and therefore at least contribute SOMETHING back to our society. OWS is just a bunch of lazy, self-righteous media-whores that camp out in parks, wave signs, and bitch about people that actually have jobs -- and then think it somehow makes them revolutionaries.
Think of how much better off if we started to deport these useless freeloaders instead.
I challenge anyone here, who has legitimate job openings, to get in touch with me. Yes, I am looking now. And I do have a Masters degree. Been looking a long time. I even applied at McDonald's National Hiring Day to, to get something. Must be overqualified or something. I did also lose a part-time janitor position last year due I had a few days due to a back issue requiring surgery. This is reality here. But you have a real job opening, let me know. I am in NY state.
@richardhutnik I can tell by your comment "must be overqualified or something" that the reason you don't have a job is because when you apply for jobs you come across as a cocky arrogant kid who thinks the world owes him a living. News flash kid, your masters degree does not equal guaranteed employment. If you want a job, then lose the attitude. Spend less time on youtube. And spend more time filling out applications. You got to want it.
I have seen multiple people start with customer support and move their way up to better positions and make 20-30 bucks an hour. Its sad, 90% of the occupy wall street are plain socialists and the remaining 10 % are the smartest most intelligent people you will find in one location.
So a bunch of assholes with an agenda offer fake jobs and then use the fact that 25 people don't take them seriously as evidence that millions of people across the country are protesting purely out of laziness and left-wing madness? I'll admit that not taking job because it's "not good enough" is naive. I used to think that way. Now I have two incredibly shitty jobs. But I still protest. The fact is our grandfathers had better benefits than us. That's fucked up.
The Bill of Rights does not contain a list of rights that are given to the American people by the government. Instead it provides a list of the rights that are inherently ours, and they can’t be taken away by the government. M Connelly 2011
"No matter what political reasons are given for war, the underlying reason is always economic." -- A. J. P. Taylor [Alan John Percivale Taylor] (1906-1990) British historian Restore America 2012 RON PAUL
all these people crying about student loans.. just what kind of coursed did they
take ? LIBERAL ARTS perchance.. Most of those people should have never attended college, and should have taken courses in plumbing, electricity, carpentry or other skills the would have paid a livable wage. These idiots want premium pay for just breathing, not working. What kind of skills did they learn in college, partying boozing or just sitting in a chair snoozing ?
this video is very offensive. they are not making a point. they are basically thumbing their noses at the people.
that protest is the begining of negotiations. I see nothing wrong with americans asking more. it does not seem right for the rich to be able to demand more but the workers not be able to? its a partnership that has been one sided. those citizens are being americans, no different than the rich are.
The entire point of this is to try to distract the protesters. They're there for the good of the many, not just themselves. Even if every occupier gets a job, there will still be politicians taking bribes and orders from aristocrats, over 10 million more job seekers in this country than jobs available, and a corrupt system that's rigged to take everything away at any minute. BTW, anyone passing out applications to Solyndra is obviously running a scam.
@venusbrain Get government and it's destructive Crony Capitalism out. Back to the 40s thru the 60's, when the US was the MANUFACTURING and EXPORTING World Leader. Unemployment 3.5% when capitalism is allowed to work. Crony Capitalism is destroying the true job-creating power of True Capitalism, which has been slowly been killed since the 70's.Occupy Washington, D.C! Bring back the jobs from overseas by making the US the #1 place for foreign and domestic capital investment which WILL create jobs!
"Even if every occupier gets a job, there will still be politicians taking bribes and orders from aristocrats,"
2/3 of the OWS protesters have been complaining about unemployment and debt. Sorry, but you can't change the world on empty pockets. You further cannot generate jobs and wealth without entrepreneurs and corporate enterprise.
Corporate investor citizens are grossly exceeding their due of one man one vote influence in determining where our collective tax dollars are spent and what our gov. policies will be.
It has gotten to the point that we've even had a war created just to feed a corporation because a former CEO of Halliburton was in the white house.
This is a real bad situation folks, and corporate media has been giving us the feed as to how we should respond to this Thats gonna change!
o these jobs no good I'd rather remain on unemployment or welfare and collect a check for doing nothing! and force all the people working those 10$/hr jobs to pay for your food stamp collecting lazy buts!
Do these jokers pretending to be a jobs fair really expect the protesters to take them seriously? Maybe that's why there were so few serious job seekers taking the applications that they offered, since the main purpose of these guys was obviously to try to pwn OWS rather than offer actual help. They just didn't gain the trust of anyone. To try to pass this video off as honestly trying to help the protesters find jobs is disgraceful. Instead, the video makers just look like uncaring arses.
the guy at the end......so everyone should make 100,000 a year fresh out of college? just like everywhere else you start at the bottom and work your way up. and the signage. HAHAHA. student loan amnesty? really? just don't get the loan? quit buying iphones, tablets, and brand name junk. save your money for a couple of years and go to school. quit whining. join the armed forces.....they'll pay for your college. why is it a right to have everything handed to you?
Working for disney definitely won't feed a family, and it may even cause suicide. I've worked for the company, and I'd actually be one of the happiest people on Earth if the whole company were to collapse.
working at Subway for 8.75 an hour for 32 hours a week (because they don't want you more than full time because then they don't have to pay you FT benfits since PT benfits is cheaper) is $280 x52 is 14,560 before taxes... and of course you CAN'T get a 2nd job because you have to have a open availability for your 1st job or they cut your hours... Retail sucks I know I'm a manager and I watched 1st hand my company screw person after person over...
What the OWS protesters are demanding is not simply A"a job," but greater accountability in the finance sector, and more democracy in the workplace, i.e. economic democracy. This will only be accomplished via a public banking option, which will make democratic workplaces possible. Private businesses will never be run in any other way than top down, which is simply the nature of capitalist investment and, therefore, control. Working for any of these places will do nothing more than help you
@wcropp1 (cont.) survive in the day to day sense of being able to eat and having a place to sleep at night, and will only serve to make these businesses wealthier, at your expense, therefore strengthening their stranglehold of control over the working class. It's really not that complex--they want a different kind of job that actually serves their interests and betters their life, not just the shareholders. This is about control, not simply a bad economy, but a bad *type* of economy. We need our
@wcropp1 own banks and businesses that are run in the interests of the vast majority of people, rather than a small wealthy minority simply because they own everything and have the money to influence government policy in a way that is beneficial to their interests, i.e. maintaining the status quo.
@BeyondLame Businesses *could* be run in a number of different ways, but the way a business is run is tied directly to who owns it. Private/capitalist ownership=top down, hierarchically structured business, whereas public/democratic/cooperative funding=democratic, worker run business, simple as that, hence why I emphasized the importance of a public/cooperative/mutual source of investment. Business structures serve the interests of whoever funded them. That could be a wealthy individual, or
@wcropp1 (continued) society as a whole by proxy of the workers, who constitute a vast majority of population. Individuals, and society as a whole, should be given a choice--do they want to work for a business that is run in the interest of an individual, or a small group of people, or a business that is run in the interest of themselves, as well as a vast majority of the public at large.
@wcropp1 - correction, working for these places gives you the means (money, if managed wisely) to improve your lot in life. Without money, life becomes infinitely harder. With experience, money and a work ethic, you improve your chances to improve your lot in life. When YOUR money is at stake, you can run YOUR company the way you want, until then quit whining, it makes you look silly.
@mmmarvel Yes, because we all know that everyone who has a good work ethic and makes sound financial decisions has enough money to start their own business one day. Do you realize what percentage of the world's population actually owns their own business? For the vast majority of people, the "American dream" is a lie. Going to college and saving your paychecks thinking that it's somehow going to make you the next Bill Gates is about as logical as thinking you're going to win the lottery.
@wcropp1 If people are ignorant enough to believe that somehow, if they just work hard enough, they'll be a capitalist someday, then they're probably also too dumb to realize how badly they're being screwed. It's the same bullshit the church feeds you to keep you faithful and paying tithes, except in this case you're an obedient worker not questioning things too much. "One day" you can be the wealthy guy in charge--right. Those of us who know better should at least have the option not to take
@wcropp1 that horribly improbable gamble and play their little game. I'd rather be paid better for the job I already have than chase the "you can be a capitalist one day too!" carrot they dangle in front of everyone. It's delusional to think you'll ever be in the top 5%, much less the 1%. Long story short, any rational person would want to have a better life as a worker (a vast majority of the world's population) than to think they'll be the guy owning everything one day. Capitalists provide
@wcropp1 nothing of value except their money, and there are other ways to generate funds. Why should we live in a world that is inherently designed to be capitalist friendly, when the vast majority of us aren't even capitalists? It is utterly asinine--most people are just too stupid to realize it.
Shame on those Head Hunter CIA agents. They shouldn't be wasting their precious time thinking they are so righteous. They should atleast be sporting some sort of a sign in support of the movement while they are there. Or are they making so much money offering jobs that they feel like they are the 1% Nothing to see her folk it's black and white, people are mad about jobs that is the only issue. Mock these people and go along about your day feeling superior because you don't have enough of a spine
Working harder and harder for the corporate elite so they can buy another house/car/island/etc. While we can't get to the doctor without finding ourselves homeless is not working out too well. They will always want more for less. It is becoming like how it was in ancient Egypt. Everyone but the top crust is a slave laborer. Back to work slaves say the Head Hunters you might wake the ants who are being strong armed by the grasshoppers (a bugs life reference). If we all stand up we have power!
@orionsdream "What good is a $10/hr job when you can't afford a home or decent cloths or a car to get there? Many people are missing the point."
Missing the point? You've been coming up with too much lame-ass excuses. Here is the answer: Quit watching Disney movies, get that $10/hr job, find 2 to 3 people to split rent for a home, buy winter clothes in the summer and summer clothes in the winter to save money, and ride the friggin bus to work. THEN you'll be able to work your way up to the top.
There are 99 slaves and one master. The slaves ask the master, "why should we not revolt?", the master then says the following.
P1: If you do as I say, than I will make you one of the masters.
P2: The preceding statement is only true for one slave.
Motivated by greed and ambition, the slaves believe that the statement is true for them, but wrong for everyone else. Therefore, 98 of the slaves believe a lie that maintains their obedience.
@MaceNaui4Prizes Not everyone is a college student who plans to live with his parents the rest of his life. Some people that have to support a family and pay for a house and bills that they already have. Minimum wage at subway isn't enough for right now.
So It's OK for citizens of a first world country to work multiple jobs for low pay that barely covers rent, utilities & food, while the richest 1% pocket most of the wealth that all of that hard work gained?
@PasswordOVER9000 If illegals can do it, then Americans can do it too. No wonder illegals are saying Americans are too lazy & wont do the dirty jobs. Embarrassing.
Here is my advice, get the job at Subway, save money for tools (give or take $250 at the most), then start your own dry-wall business. Every construction company are in need of a drywallers big time. I've been seeing illegals driving a nice lifted F-250 truck with leather, sunroof, etc for work all because Americans are too lazy. Sad
You missed the point of OWS and why those people turned down those jobs.
The problem is not that there are no jobs, but that there are too few jobs for LOTS OF PEOPLE other than shitty minimum wage jobs.
I feel we do not need more people working minimum wage jobs. That will not help recovery. The ONLY people it will help are investors and corporate leadership who get to turn around the same amount of growth-adjusted real profits to a LOWER MEAN AND MEDIAN WAGE.
We are all very saddened by third world countries plight, and the extreme poverty and conditions some people must endure. Many of these people are exploited horribly, but it is the bankers, the corporations and capitalistic greed that creates these issues more than anything else. often these people are poor because they have had their traditional lifestyles ripped from them by... Shutting up and getting your piece of the pie is the American way but that MUST CHANGE! TO PROTEST IS TO BE ALIVE!
By the way, I do work hard for my money to raise my family, but I struggle to find jobs that fit with my convictions. I am a vegetarian so I wouldn't work for a corporation that contributes to the atrocities to animals, I also don't believe that slave labor is acceptable and don't want to work for a corp. supporting that either. When she says "we won't do that" She means we'd rather die than support that level of perversity. It's about having choices that are not exploitation.
Some guy from Trinidad responded to me and told me to shut up and go to work because it was harder in a third world country. He didn't say if he was receiving minimum wage or if he was one of the richies but whatever. I get that other places have it hard but it's the system that makes it hard. Doing nothing but working will not solve world problems. I will no longer waste my time responding to folks that don't get what I am saying. It's like talking to a brick wall.
Occupiers have wasted weeks on nonsense when all the time they should have been protesting their wasted tax dollars and the fact that they should have been made a millionaire. Out of all the trillions Obama put the country in debt, he could have given every American 1 million dollars and made every American a millionaire and jump started the economy like it has never been done in history. Everyone would have been happy paying off their debts and buying whatever they needed.
Obama sucks, his first two years he had complete Democrat support from the house and senate but he did nothing but got our country in debt. Obama is a zero president. Clinton was a big success because he worked with both the Republicans and Democrats. Obama doesn’t want to work with anyone who is against destroying our country. Obama would have been a loved president had he taken 3 trillion dollars and made every American a millionaire.
It's perfectly my right, as one of the 99%, to leave these idiotic hippies to die of TB on the street. That is what America is about, and no one is entitled to anything.
These people are not here protesting job creation. Did any of them say that? That is how the media is framing it. Its way deeper than oh poor us without jobs. It's more like Hey we don't like the massive imbalance that is happening in our county and all our jobs going to china. I bet if you asked every protester why they were there they would all have different stories. Black and white thinking is Sith like. It is a sad thing when the only people able to find time to protest are homeless types.
Some people would rather live a poor life than lick the boots of cooporate facists. I'm one of them. Yeah right one of these people are going to get a $26 an hr job These people are here because they know the futility of trying when the good jobs go to those who already have work not homeless people. Get real. What good is a $10/hr job when you can't afford a home or decent cloths or a car to get there? Many people are missing the point. I think this video was put up to hit a nerve.
@orionsdream if your not going to get up and work for what you want, don't sit there and complain that it doesn't get handed to you, i'm from Trinidad, a 3rd world country, the US dollar is worth 6 times my currency down here, our wages go between 2 to 3 dollars an hour, and too see this seriously pisses me off, you literally have the answer to your problems sitting right in front of you, so much more opportunity than so much other countries, stop complaining, get to work.
Since when is standing up for your rights wasting your time. How do you know that some of these people aren't giving up their vacation time and money to be here to protest. The protestshows how we are all soo stuck in this system that we can't even find any means to express our disdain for how things are. So yeah just do some job no matter how crumby and shut up right. Don't ever try to make any points or raise any awareness. Just take what ever they dish out. Your masters will take care of you!
Jobs in Bowling Green,Ky are taken by community service, prisoners on work release and temporary workers. The Houseing Project uses the tenants as community service instead of employing people. The Warren County Public Library uses prisoners who are paid with pizzas. The temporary employment agencies pay minimum wages and keep the difference for themselves. They also take FICA and social Security Insurance with holding but do not turn it in to the government.
If every new building is required to supply their own energy, would you choose nuclear, solar, or wind turbine or a combination of wind turbine and solar power?
I work six days a week making $7.25 an hour for eight hours a day. 6 x (8 x 7.25) = $348 a week meaning roughly $1340 a month after taking taxes out. My rent is $450 a month after splitting with roommates. Which means that I have almost $900 left over for other things. Who needs a credit card when I make that kind of money. And just think, maybe in a few years I'll have worked my way up that GREEDY CORPORATE ladder and will make even more money. Suck it, you spoiled whiny liberal!! :)
a job application doesn't mean you get a job, i've applied for 10-20 jobs a week for over a year now. there aren't jobs, face it, maybe a few don't want to work but most do.
dude...$15/hour? that's more than my dad makes and hes got me, my bro, my smaller bro, and my mom....we've got a house, a car, etc. So how the F does that not feed you and your two kids if less than it can feed me and 4 other ppl?
I hope everyone of the protestors see this video and realize how fkn stupid they sound. You are their protesting for job creation and here are 2 guys with tons of job applications and you're going to sit there saying "we wont do this" and "this wont pay the bills". How fkn ignorant can some people be? You aren't going to be handed your dream job on a silver platter, you need to start somewhere. This video has given me a whole new opinion on these occupy movements.
It doesn't contribute to the bigger solution? Your protesting how you are unemployed right? These guys have jobs for you! What's better? No job, or a min. wage job while you look for better?
First of all, if you listen carefully you will hear almost no mention of pay. You hear about a Bank of America job greeted with a F#$% that. And a guy complaining limo drivers can't work 9-5, another who says she can't work full time. What do they want? I worked very close to a minimum wage job for 5 years and worked my way up. Hard work! Its freedom and justice for all, not jobs with high salaries for all. Blame the illegals who are doing it for a fraction of the cost to business owners!
So by claiming that union jobs, via increasing wage and benefits, are an artificial set rather than I would assume "free market natural," is this video admitting that the middle class is an artificial class that shouldn't and wouldn't be there if the market was not manipulated?
Wall street is 95% Jew controlled, Media is 97% Jew controlled, .....and there is no coverage of Occupy in the media (except thru YouTube) in the last few weeks inspite of violent clashes in Oakland. The State Dpt for MiddleEast affairs is all staffed by zionist Jews. Jews have total control of American foreign policy. This is confirmed fact. Jews only hire their own kind, from wall st to Sate St. What we need to do is move JEWS out and redistribute power!!! (I'm no muslim nor middleeastern)
@freeqwerqwer Hey, I'm Jewish and am wondering how I can acquire some of this wealth and power that is apparently due to me. Have any pointers? Contacts? Thanks. (I'm especially interested in the "Wall St. Jews" who only hire "their own kind")
They are just trying to draw you into the system!!...just looks too good to be true!!...coming up with hundreds of job applications!!...asking to many questions!!...directing the conversation!!...think a bit about it and make your own judgement!!...HUM!!!...I wonder!!...
This is a great video, proves how these losers are scared of actual work, "Can't do this and Can't do that" they want to be paid for breathing. What a disgrace to humanity these wimpering spoiled idiots really are... Where is the MSNBC coverage on this?
Except that 95% of those "jobs" being offered are the problem that they are protesting. Minimum wage, no benefit, basically "slave" jobs that they are giving as a handout to make themselves look good. The protesters are right, you can't pay the rent and feed a family on a Subway job.
@jcrowley1985 Everyone works at least one shit job in their lives. Get over it. No one is going to pay you 15 dollars an hour with full benefits to flip burgers or make grinders. But while you are working those shit jobs you can be looking for better jobs. Did you know there are a high percentage of businesses now that won't hire someone that is not currently employed? Probably not.
@jcrowley1985 Well when you get a degree in liberal arts, or no degree at all, you should never expect to get anything above a slave labor job. Even then, everywhere you go in the professional field, everyone starts off with grunt work, no matter what their education, the only difference is the pay they get for that grunt work, and the pay given is dependent upon their degree.
@kendro1200 Yet there should not be such a thing as "slave labor jobs" We have minimum wage laws for a reason as they are there to ensure that everyone can survive off whatever salary they are paid. Sadly, in the past few decades, cost of living has far outpaced minimum wage updates and employers want it to stay like that for their own greed. So keep defending the greedy CEOs, you brainwashed puppet.
@jcrowley1985 If you have a job getting paid minimum wage and still can't pay your rent, then you are living beyond your means. I am a college graduate in a shitty job market. I make minimum wage even with my degree, and I still can pay my rent, my loans, and have a LOT left over. If your rent is too expensive, move. If you have kids, there is government aid to help you out. Your life problems are not because of a "greedy CEO" they are because you aren't taking care of it.
Oh please!!!!! That "living beyond your means" excuse is just bullshit propaganda made up by the upper class to keep you living in a shitty apartment for your whole life while they pay you far less then any human being's labor is really worth while at the same time living it up in their huge mansions. I'm done arguing. You're defending criminals who bend the system for their own greedy nature, it's as simple as that.
@jcrowley1985 Funny. My shitty apartment has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a wraparound balcony, full kitchen, six pools, four hot tubs, volleyball pits, soccer fields, a giant clubhouse, and a parking garage. Not so shitty is it? Its worth me getting paid minimum wage to get job experience and get a better job later on. You don't start out as the CEO of a company. You sound like a whiny child who doesn't want a toy unless it is the best one. Take what you can get until you can have better.
@NealyBrea Then you're most likely putting it all or most of it on credit cards which is what got us into the financial ruin we are in now. There is no way you can afford a living space that size on minimum wage, so don't try to distort the facts. Plus, there are not even enough minimum wage jobs for everyone what with this country's mentality to pump out as many kids as possible as fast as possible to make plenty of competition in the next generation and thus supply of dirt cheap labor.
@jcrowley1985 Not once did I say that the minimum wage was at the correct amount or that CEO's of the "too big to fail" corporations were ever in the right or should be excused for their actions. What I did comment on is the picky and self entitlement many people seem to have towards work in a weak economy, when they elected to either earn a degree in a dead end field due to its ease, or elected not to go to college at all. All professions start off with horrible grunt work. Ask doctors.
@jcrowley1985 Actually, minimum wage was NEVER intended to be a wage that someone could raise a family off of, nor should it be. When if first came into existance it was to shut down sweatshops and trust me you've NEVER worked in a sweatshop. Minimum wage is where you start to see if you're an employee worth keeping - based on your comments, the answer would be NO!!!
@mmmarvel Yet most employers don't use minimum wage jobs as a "trial period" for employees. They use it as a PERMANENT source of cheap labor. Everyday I see more and more job offers for part time or temporary work and fewer and fewer job offers for full time and long term employment.
Not only do employers save on not having to pay fair wages, but we will soon see the end to any benefits associated with any full time employment including medical coverage, personal days, PENSIONS, and union
Idiots like you who continue to support these borderline criminals who degrade our workforce are the reason why the protests started in the first place. You are just as bad as the 1% by supporting them, you are fueling their corruption.
@jcrowley1985 What are you talking about? Dept. of Defense, Bank of America minimum wage? Yeah O.K. "This and that won't feed your family" she doesn't even know why the wages are, I suppose she is looking for a CEO position or maybe partner in a law firm. Another guy complains the limo company wouldn't give him 9-5 hours. Come on man watch the video. There are less opportunities because of the economy and instability wall street is the money machine not the enemy.
@jcrowley1985 College education debt. is tremdous. With schools charging almost a grand per credit and all other kinds of fees you need to make 6 figures to pay it off. Ever think there is something wrong with those prices to sit and here a teacher talk for 45 minutes? How about the billions we send in aid over seas each year, think that might be a problem? How about the illegals shutting down hospitals everywhere after skipping on the bill? Where is the protest against that stuff?
@Jllucky8 "Ever think there is something wrong with those prices to sit and here a teacher talk for 45 minutes?" I stopped reading after this line. You clearly didn't listen to your teachers in elementary school.
Im a bad Ass American Patriot Constitutional Defender. I rallied with the teapartiers. Along with the liberals, the teapartiers qare some of the most stupid cold hearted lack of research doing motherfuckers ive ever seen. I have a job and Im a kick ass PILOT who saves lives and I support OWS! COMPARE YOURSELF TO MEEEE!!
This is BS. It is pretty lame to offer these protesters jobs while they are protesting. They are obviously there to make a point and you are toying with them. Its circular logic. Apply for corporate jobs if you hate the way corporations treat you. If you don't you are a bum who just doesn't want to work. How are you supposed to effect change as a corporate lacky? Are you bringing up real issues by offering jobs or just being douches. I think the later.
You are so right. Instead of giving them jobs we should just give them free healthcare, and unemployment, and let them sit in a park accomplishing nothing. I am so glad all these people have decided they deserve to live off the efforts of everyone else in this country instead of doing something productive. They deserve to have everything just given to them!
DO NOT avoid the truth.... Obama's staff (cabinet) is full of folks from WALL STREET INCLUDING GOLDMAN SACHS -- The "Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010″, SUPPORTED by President Barack Obama, expand bailout authority for the federal government.
These bills provide a back door bailout of Wall Street. THE LINK BETWEEN -----THE BAILOUTS AND DC -GOES TO THE WHITEHOUSE, OUR LEADER SIGNED THE BILL TO OK & FUND, THE BONUSES/BAILOUTS.. TOO FEW OWS UNDERSTAND THAT SIMPLE LINK!
soo.. What these people are saying is they just want money, they don't want jobs, and they don't want to work for that money. Ok, got it, thanks

When YOUR money is at stake, you can run YOUR company the way you want, until then quit whining, it makes you look silly.
mmmarvel 3 months ago

Obama would have been a loved president had he taken 3 trillion dollars and made every American a millionaire.
sadieaugust 3 months ago 2
It's perfectly my right, as one of the 99%, to leave these idiotic hippies to die of TB on the street. That is what America is about, and no one is entitled to anything.

These people are not here protesting job creation. Did any of them say that? That is how the media is framing it. Its way deeper than oh poor us without jobs. It's more like Hey we don't like the massive imbalance that is happening in our county and all our jobs going to china. I bet if you asked every protester why they were there they would all have different stories. Black and white thinking is Sith like. It is a sad thing when the only people able to find time to protest are homeless types.
orionsdream 3 months ago
Some people would rather live a poor life than lick the boots of cooporate facists. I'm one of them. Yeah right one of these people are going to get a $26 an hr job These people are here because they know the futility of trying when the good jobs go to those who already have work not homeless people. Get real. What good is a $10/hr job when you can't afford a home or decent cloths or a car to get there? Many people are missing the point. I think this video was put up to hit a nerve.
orionsdream 3 months ago
@orionsdream a $10/hr jobs lets you rent an apartment... you actually think people are homeless because "the system" fucked up with them? REALLY?
AnteroX1234 3 months ago
@orionsdream if your not going to get up and work for what you want, don't sit there and complain that it doesn't get handed to you, i'm from Trinidad, a 3rd world country, the US dollar is worth 6 times my currency down here, our wages go between 2 to 3 dollars an hour, and too see this seriously pisses me off, you literally have the answer to your problems sitting right in front of you, so much more opportunity than so much other countries, stop complaining, get to work.
mistaspeaker 3 months ago 2

This video has given me a whole new opinion on these occupy movements.
phoulmouth 3 months ago
It doesn't contribute to the bigger solution? Your protesting how you are unemployed right? These guys have jobs for you! What's better? No job, or a min. wage job while you look for better?
Daginni1 3 months ago 2
So they're complaining about something, it's then being offered to them, they decline the offer citing "We don't wanna!"
Logic.
Banewind 3 months ago 2

Jllucky8 3 months ago 2
@Jllucky8
Except that 95% of those "jobs" being offered are the problem that they are protesting. Minimum wage, no benefit, basically "slave" jobs that they are giving as a handout to make themselves look good. The protesters are right, you can't pay the rent and feed a family on a Subway job.
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 Everyone works at least one shit job in their lives. Get over it. No one is going to pay you 15 dollars an hour with full benefits to flip burgers or make grinders. But while you are working those shit jobs you can be looking for better jobs. Did you know there are a high percentage of businesses now that won't hire someone that is not currently employed? Probably not.
phoulmouth 3 months ago 2
@jcrowley1985 Well when you get a degree in liberal arts, or no degree at all, you should never expect to get anything above a slave labor job. Even then, everywhere you go in the professional field, everyone starts off with grunt work, no matter what their education, the only difference is the pay they get for that grunt work, and the pay given is dependent upon their degree.
kendro1200 3 months ago 2
@kendro1200 Yet there should not be such a thing as "slave labor jobs" We have minimum wage laws for a reason as they are there to ensure that everyone can survive off whatever salary they are paid. Sadly, in the past few decades, cost of living has far outpaced minimum wage updates and employers want it to stay like that for their own greed. So keep defending the greedy CEOs, you brainwashed puppet.
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 If you have a job getting paid minimum wage and still can't pay your rent, then you are living beyond your means. I am a college graduate in a shitty job market. I make minimum wage even with my degree, and I still can pay my rent, my loans, and have a LOT left over. If your rent is too expensive, move. If you have kids, there is government aid to help you out. Your life problems are not because of a "greedy CEO" they are because you aren't taking care of it.
NealyBrea 3 months ago
@NealyBrea
Oh please!!!!! That "living beyond your means" excuse is just bullshit propaganda made up by the upper class to keep you living in a shitty apartment for your whole life while they pay you far less then any human being's labor is really worth while at the same time living it up in their huge mansions. I'm done arguing. You're defending criminals who bend the system for their own greedy nature, it's as simple as that.
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 Funny. My shitty apartment has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a wraparound balcony, full kitchen, six pools, four hot tubs, volleyball pits, soccer fields, a giant clubhouse, and a parking garage. Not so shitty is it? Its worth me getting paid minimum wage to get job experience and get a better job later on. You don't start out as the CEO of a company. You sound like a whiny child who doesn't want a toy unless it is the best one. Take what you can get until you can have better.
NealyBrea 3 months ago 2
@NealyBrea Then you're most likely putting it all or most of it on credit cards which is what got us into the financial ruin we are in now. There is no way you can afford a living space that size on minimum wage, so don't try to distort the facts. Plus, there are not even enough minimum wage jobs for everyone what with this country's mentality to pump out as many kids as possible as fast as possible to make plenty of competition in the next generation and thus supply of dirt cheap labor.
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@NealyBrea Damn your puttin the smackdown on the entitled hippy scum.......................woot woot.........thumbs up
stlB420 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 Not once did I say that the minimum wage was at the correct amount or that CEO's of the "too big to fail" corporations were ever in the right or should be excused for their actions. What I did comment on is the picky and self entitlement many people seem to have towards work in a weak economy, when they elected to either earn a degree in a dead end field due to its ease, or elected not to go to college at all. All professions start off with horrible grunt work. Ask doctors.
kendro1200 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 Actually, minimum wage was NEVER intended to be a wage that someone could raise a family off of, nor should it be. When if first came into existance it was to shut down sweatshops and trust me you've NEVER worked in a sweatshop. Minimum wage is where you start to see if you're an employee worth keeping - based on your comments, the answer would be NO!!!
mmmarvel 3 months ago
@mmmarvel Yet most employers don't use minimum wage jobs as a "trial period" for employees. They use it as a PERMANENT source of cheap labor. Everyday I see more and more job offers for part time or temporary work and fewer and fewer job offers for full time and long term employment.
Not only do employers save on not having to pay fair wages, but we will soon see the end to any benefits associated with any full time employment including medical coverage, personal days, PENSIONS, and union
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@mmmarvel
Idiots like you who continue to support these borderline criminals who degrade our workforce are the reason why the protests started in the first place. You are just as bad as the 1% by supporting them, you are fueling their corruption.
jcrowley1985 3 months ago
@jcrowley1985 What are you talking about? Dept. of Defense, Bank of America minimum wage? Yeah O.K. "This and that won't feed your family" she doesn't even know why the wages are, I suppose she is looking for a CEO position or maybe partner in a law firm. Another guy complains the limo company wouldn't give him 9-5 hours. Come on man watch the video. There are less opportunities because of the economy and instability wall street is the money machine not the enemy.
Jllucky8 3 months ago 2
@jcrowley1985 College education debt. is tremdous. With schools charging almost a grand per credit and all other kinds of fees you need to make 6 figures to pay it off. Ever think there is something wrong with those prices to sit and here a teacher talk for 45 minutes? How about the billions we send in aid over seas each year, think that might be a problem? How about the illegals shutting down hospitals everywhere after skipping on the bill? Where is the protest against that stuff?
