Man oh man would I like to have one of those cars. I remember some guy laughing at this guy who drove into the parking lot we all hung out at. This guy who drove a Chevy II SS gave the Gremlin guy a hard time. To make it short they raced and the Chevy didn't come back. The Gremlin came back and everyone wanted to know more about the car that beat the Chevy. The good ole days.

Man this makes me miss my old rusty '71 GremlinX sleeper, only had a 304/4bolt, mild cam, shot guns offa the headers, what a lovely sound it made, just a big ol' go-kart :D Buddy down the road had a 401 in his but it had serious twist issues and sat more than ran :(

My 74's in the 11's all motor,yeah that may not be as fast as your eagle which btw you are talking about an eagle,i.e the 4x4 suv car AMC made from 1980-88?not a Spirit?

Yeah, Hotrod, it is an '81 Eagle. I just replace the front Eagle axel with the Concord 2-wheel drive axel and then Put the Chevy in it because I could not find a nice AMC motor. I really like all the AMC's. Especially the Gremlins. I am just busting on this guy's car, I really like it.

Just curious,why didn't you just find a Spirit body?instead of doing all that work to an Eagle which has a different floor pan set up.

The Eagle has been in the family for 25 yrs. and I usually build whatever I am driving. It is fun as hell to drive to the cruise in's. Gets alot of attention.

This is a sick ride. I have the same setup in my 72 gremlin except I still have the 727 trans bolted to it, but i have a 360 in it.

I have done some work on my 998, but on this run i burn the 3`rd gear again...

My 360 has 343 pistons and a 292 Cam. But it`s a OK setup because i cant go faster than 12,0 whithout a rollbar in it...
