Micky Conlan's run at about 3:30 where he proved once and for all that PP was only 45 metres long was something I will always remember.
How so? Well he ran from the centre to the edge of the ten yard square and bounced it once in the days when it was 10 metres not 15 for a bounce. Umpires were blind back then as well.
oh my !! that white haired lady waving her scarf, is a woman called Kathy fairhall...the grey hair dude next to her is my freakin dad lol....we had a group that always sat together at the junction oval, back in the day.......i for one dont follow football any more...the 96 merger turned me off the AFL for life.....the memories and the clubs history is one thing the dogs at AFL cant take away.....GO ROY BOYS !!!
@insaneagain23 Don't need to follow AFL to watch the Roys these days. Head on down to Brunswick Street Oval this year to see the real Fitzroy team compete in the Ammos. The experience is VERY Fitzroy.
there are alot of fitzroy videos on youtube fitzroy have their own channel i subscribed to. fitzroy play in the VAFA amatuer division c. its not the same as afl fitzroy but its still fitzroy
Yeah, nice job, brought a tear to the eye. Conlan, Roosy, Ozzie, Gotchy,Superboot and #29 Garry Wilson, the best player to never to win a brownlow.i miss them all. I was lucky enough to play little league for the Roys at the Junction Oval a few times. Played against Perty as a teenager in Juniors.Just good memories now. Footy is just not the same without them.
i was there at 2:55 ran out and thanked roos for replying to gary perts goal, i saw bernies two tons, i was there when micky put us in to the pre lims. i could go on and on and i miss you royboys. Go roys !
