@cutemandy69 you probably using a debit/credit card or you are probably buying the wrong top up cards. the real top up cards are $35, $45 and $55. i brought a $25 top up card 2 days ago for unlimited text, data and 300 minutes of calling. I was happy because that was the least. dont but a $20 top up because thats not the real and least top up plan anymore. i hope you understand.

@tien714 Hit the physical menu/settings key on your phone and tap customize on the screen. Scroll down until you see Wi-Fi Hotspot and drag it above the dark line that reads "Hidden Settings". Then just hit the back button on your phone and you should be good to go.

this works in optmius c for cricket and optimus v for virgin optimus s it doest work. . also in 2.3 update it will take this away from quick settings i upgraded my optimus v to 2.3 because i was promised from virgin that we would have a update this summer and never seen it so i upgraded the phone myself. phone was already rooted by then gingerbreak is a app to root the phone works for optimus s and v never tested for cricket. :P hope this helps you guys.

Nice video, I've a problem, some may know a solution for it. When I turn on Wifi it stays on for a few minutes and after a while it turns off automatic and when I check my wifi connections it says 'receiving ip adress from Sweex' and this is kinda of a loop, when I turn wifi off/on again it works for about 2 mins again. I have made an empty APN, mobile data off (I only want wifi) Static IP doesnt help and the strange thing is dat G3 stays on top screen...

@descendency the battery life will depend on what you plan to do with the phone if you are surfing the web you will get a day out of it which is good but if you just text and talk you can get more then a day of it i know this first hand because i own the phone and i love it i would advise you get advance task killer it will help the battery life on this phone hope this helps you

@MrJose2012 when you on the quick settings list click the button on your phone that gives you more options. On my optimus it looks like a small window in a big window button. (bottem left real phone button). When you click that it will give the option to customize. hit it scroll down, find hotspot, use (=)looking thing to drag to to of list. once draged to top of list exit and go back should be there after that.

@lgzaldana - I have successfully browsed the internet via WI-FI before activation. I have not tried any text or internet voice services though. I'm assuming text should not be an issue, but voice might have some bugs or kinks to it. I might try it if I have some time.

@paramount4rm562 - Correct me if I'm wrong, I think you have to have Android 2.2 operating system in order for the wifi hot spot to work. The intercept is currently running on Android 2.1 so it might not work. Maybe there are other things you can do to get the wireless hotspot with the Intercept.

@davideoking101 - Yes, I have mine password protected with a WEP2 key. It is very straight forward when you use "Quick Settings" and go in to the wifi-hotspot. You can also create an open wi-fi hot spot without a password key.
