@EmporerKim It's true that a lot of Viet culture comes from Chinese. But, then most Englishh culture comes from elsewhere. The English alphabet comes from Latin and most vocabulary comes from French. By same token, most Thai culture comes from Khmer. Even though the Thai say they "invented" muay thai, they got it from the Khmer or Burmese, who got it from the Indian culture. The two great Asian cultures: Chinese & Indian.

I am Singaporean Chinese (ancenstry from Fujian (Hokkien). I feel that we are one family. When I was young, my grandparents wear and look the same. If you visit China, all old buildings be it temples look the same as the pictures here. If you go into Chinese or old South east asian archives and look at the pictures, it the same as these. Vietnamese and Chinese people are one family! We have the same roots and culture just different rulers and spoken language.
