  • Whoever mentioned that this conversation should only pose suchgrand thoughts in a bar--a pleasantly dim-lit one with an excellent wine list--I second that discursive geographical intervention. I'd find deliberating over the meaning of the infamous John Hurt, his glorious Moment, and other grand Moments (oh, Caligula!!!) in a damn good bar, by definition a good thing life demands. What a lovely dish his paranoid Control made recently..yet the smoke infestation suffocated the carnal surge...cough

  • I suppose the great irony that infiltrates the infamous John Hurt moment is that while for men it stands as the ungodly symbol of terror that penetrates to the heart of penetration and creation itself-for what is not parenthood, fatherhood an investment in the creative genesis of an unknown-a violation, a monster, YES YES YES, the insidious dirge and invasive element of the fear-birth complex embodied in the John Hurt Moment. Oh, yes, and the great irony.. is how damn sexy John Hurt is, Oh! Yes!

  • I must say that as a chick, I am in total agreement about men's take on the so-called "miracle of life": Horror porn! ROFL! I'm not doing THAT to my body. Forget it!

  • Their acting style is "waving from the train and making mouths behind the glass to the people on the platform".

  • In this bar, no one can hear you scream or laugh. Or both.XDXD

  • Well, All I can say is: 1. a gynaecologist is like the security guard who works at a night club: they both work at locations where other people have a good time...2. After watching the crucial John Hurt Moment in 'Alien', I was sixteen then, I decided never, ever to have children - at least, never have any of my own! I turned out to be a great stepmom, without the 'Uhh. uhh, uhh....WHAAAAAAAH!' 3. John Hurt iS THE MAN! The sexiest man on the planet!

  • I went out with John Hurt's second cousin once, I used to wind her up by saying that I'm worried about a baby popping out of her chest.

  • I wonder how many people have gotten into jobs based on a sceme in a movie?

  • Brilliant! This show is too good! Too bad it didn't last longer.......SADFACE :(

  • Funny--I've been referencing that scene in "Alien" for years in reference to the bizarro-freaky world of pregnancy. Guess I know why I was the only chick who thought it was hilarious and perfect--and why every single guy cracked up and cringed.

Can't help it--babies give the willies. I'm part of the reason God invented adoption.

that and I couldn't bare getting fat. Vanity's a bitch.

  • @IvyLeagueJunkie Luckily for you your mum didn't think the same, she went beyond vanity.

  • Thank you very much for posting this, needed to show a pregnant friend EXACTLY this scene.

  • i have to sey play it over and over her noise is insane

  • 3:09

  • its coupling, really funny.

  • British Comedy > American Comedy

  • you do realise that couches are set like that in many cafe's and coffee shops?

you are a fucking retard.."friends" is american, therefore much worse in the comedic sense compared to british comedy.

"oh my god, the world is going to end! a couch and an armchair are set around a table in a coffee shop like in friends!"
