  • Get it spinning hard as you can THEN introduce fuel slowly at first. Your lucky you didnt melt everything in that first start!! Too much fuel!!

Hi you´re right, the compressor never reach the 3 bar, I meassure it the pressure and the maximum at 15.000 rpm (with the electric engine or "starter" ) was 1/10 Psi, so at maximum rpm ( 80.000 ) it might be 0.4 bar or 5.9 Psi. In the books said that per stage you got 1 bar of pressure, so I thought 3 bars 3 stages, but the performance of my compressor is to much lower than the "real" axial compressors. So know i´m workin on that, to reach at least 1.5 bars with three stages

  • what did you do from 1:02 ??

  • If I were to make a jet engine, it would blow up on the first start up! You did well!

I think the combustion chamber is going to need better fuel-air mixing for it to work or maybe more compressors to lean out the fuel mix.

  • Whats with the sparks? Did something internal fail? Anyway, i don't think I've ever seen an axial flow rc jet so that's awesome! Best of luck! Oh and how do you know how many stages to use, blade angels, and turbine dimensions? I've been wanting to make an engine, but the math is above me. Is there a formula/book? Thanks!

Hi; the sparks that you saw are because the chamber its too new and there`s a few little metal chips from the machining, still there.

I make 3 stages for the compresor because the thrust that I want to reach needs 3 bar in the chamber, and each stage of the compressor increase the pressure 1 bar, its very dificult increase more the pressure per stage with axial flow.

There are many books of turbines, but as you said the maths are very heavy.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I think, maybe the compressor is the problem. appear the pressure in the combustion chamber is too low for generate the flow apropiate for run

    i like your axial turbine..

  • @elrostasardur

I thought that too, but the problem is in the turbine blades, the angle alfa1 between the stator and the rotor is incorrect, and the number of blades is incorrect too. Now i`m working on that and i hope to get all ready for June.

    Thanks for your comment.
