I used to listen to Jay for quite a long time. While I always thought he was boorish, the reason I listened is because he USED to debate callers. He was originally pretty respectful in that he gave others a chance to voice their side.

He clearly takes a libertarian position on personal lifestyles - but it shouldn't stop him from poking fun at those gays who are PC, Leftist and demanding of broad social acceptance. For example, many conservative gays keep it to themselves and do not believe kids should be forced to read "Johnny Has 2 Daddies". It's called class.
On your other points, I agree completely. Although he has been critical of Bush, he does not hammer him like he does Obama. As a libertarian myself, I believe that Bush is also a "domestic enemy of the Constitution." (to use Jay's words). Can anyone really trust this mans judgment when he: voted for Bush twice and said George W. is probably smarter that he is. To paraphrase, he can fly a fighter and I cant. Criticized the Electoral College System as antiquated stating that it would unethically win the Presidency for Al Gore. When Gore won the popular vote and Bush became President when he was awarded the majority of Electoral College votes his mouth was shut and nothing else was said about it. He says he is a liberterian but has voted for W twice (why not the liberterian candidate?). He preaches republican values (taxation etc.) and has never hammered Bush on the war in the same way he goes after Obama. I have friends who are gay and have met Severin at private gay parties. It's common knowledge in media - even Imus makes fun of him about it. Nothing wrong with being gay but when you preach conservative values and make anti-gay comments when you yourself are gay - that's a problem.

Gunter, thanks for your comments. First off, everything is hearsay until proven. But even if he were gay, I do not believe him to be a hypocrite on that issue. He clearly takes a libertarian position on personal lifestyles - but it shouldn't stop him from poking fun at those gays who are PC, Leftist and demanding of broad social acceptance. For example, many conservative gays keep it to themselves and do not believe kids should be forced to read "Johnny Has 2 Daddies". It's called class.

On your other points, I agree completely. Although he has been critical of Bush, he does not hammer him like he does Obama. As a libertarian myself, I believe that Bush is also a "domestic enemy of the Constitution." (to use Jay's words). Like Michael Graham (who I can't stand, he's terrible) are very selective in their outrage. I think it would help the cause of liberty more if both men would be more even handed in their attacks.
