Apparently, in late August of 2009, Zweigoron, having become the sole owner of the shop, announced that he would remove the straitjacket and padded cell from the shop's interior, and changed the name of two donuts on the menu, "Bipolar" (changed to "Mood Swing") and "Massive Head Trauma" ("Headbanger").
I think both parties have valid points. Neither is 100% right or wrong. The business man is dancing around the issues and Oscar is a little over the top with some of his statistics. But he has a valid point. Children are simply not able to make their own informed opinion on these issues and many parents are not aware enough to explain to them what is and isn't appropriate. If this guy had a "retard donut" he'd be out of business. Why is mental illness not taken as seriously? It's a shame.
I think the owner started with a good plan. A twist on a doughnut store. But I do see where he has stepped over the line a little. He is profiting on a business that is made to "have a laugh" at other peoples mental health.
Stigma is one of the main issues as to why the mentally ill find it so hard to get by in day to day life. I wish he were more open to a professional business un-sensationalised meeting about this issue. Its as simple as having some facts out there that support mental health.
I think Oscar is well intentioned, but completely misguided. I have no doubt that he believes that ... SOMEHOW these donuts are related to, say, the suicide rate or the other random problems that he spouts numbers for. But this seems to be based on feelings rather than any kind of evidence.
First off- how retarded and trivial have we become as Americans that we are protesting donuts. There are tons of real and evil causes worthy of protesting against and for like: slavery, truth, freedom, amnesty, education, end to torture...and the list goes on. But what do we do, protest donuts, and distract the media and public from real life and death type issues. Everyone's eye is clearly not on the ball- it starts with consumers, then the media, and finally ends with protesting asshats.
Campbell California - Population 38,138 as of 2000. Thanks to Oscar and the power of youtube children all over the world can learn how delicious thier problems are. He's doing more harm then good here. And just in case any one was wondering, I am pro Psycho Donuts.
This is Bullshit, I just saw all 4 parts & I feel like Oscar keeps using the children as an excuse to put this man out of business... Like kip said is you don't like it go somewhere else! Krispy Creme, Dunkin Donuts, mom & pop shop, whatever, your children or any children with mental disorders dont have to eat there! And I hate how they keep trying to look for a "medium" this man does not need to meet in private for shit, he has a legal business and he's doing nothing wrong!!!
Kipp is scared of a private meeting. He realizes that next to Oscar he looks like a bug that just crawled out from under a rock that someone justed turned over.
Personally, I think they should give the owner of Psycho donuts shock treatment and then let's see if he thinks if it's so funny then. He obviously just wants press attention.
haha sounds like that guy wants free advertisement......he don't seem to care about the kids at all.... selfish jerk.

I think this was a good call on the owner's part.

BTW, I notice that you don;t seem to find it odd that Oscar can't come out and say what his ideas are. Weird.

How very funny. ABC news has reported that there have been multiple private meetings.
Watch the video; ol' Oscar was larding on meetings, press releases , etc.

I wonder what Oscar's secret plan is...? Why can't he just come out and say it?
