ya looking back, this show was def not our best, but we killed it at Nationals :)- and I love reading all these comments they crack me up :) even the bad ones I love reading them because no one knows what it's like to be in Avon until you're actually in it. @SavannaDawn29 i'd just like to point out that my band does the same thing. we are all dedicated too practicing 5 days a week, 6 if there isn't a competition of Saturday and that is normally a nine to nine. we've also been out there whether its snowing or raining and a couple of times when it was hotter than the average body temperature. and yet....

Hello, there, I'm from American Fork, and I have to tell any Avon band members that may see this that all the way across the country, here in Utah, we are so excited to meet you and perform in the 2012 Rose Parade with you. I still remember seeing your 2009 show at Grand Nationals--it was amazing!! :) Can't wait to see you again at the BandFest. Wow... we (Greendale marching band) are using beethoven's 7th too. Only in our preshow, but damn. Last year everyone used moonlight sonata, this year is beethoven's 7th.

@th30wn3dpk3r1 Their last new uniforms were first used in 2009, where they covered the gold part of their uniform with black for the beginning of the show. In 2010, they covered the gold with a lace fabric. This year I believe they are using a red fabric, an orange fabric, and a random colored fabric (one for each movement). In this show they only use the red.

@th30wn3dpk3r1 no we didnt get new uniforms we just have red inserts covering where the gold used to be to match the theme of the show. In our laetr shows we take them out and have different colors in to match the guard :) haha we can barely afford to go to the Rose Bowl so there's NOO way we'd have new uniforms :) lol

One day I'm going to see this band live. There are so many amazing bands in the country, but this is my number one choice. You just can't judge by the Youtube video....it does no justice.

Also, Avon is in class A in ISSMA. This contest was a qualifier for Semi-State (which happens this weekend). Placings are not allowed to be made public as ratings and finding the top ten is the competitive focus of all Issma shows before state.

@recharged995 The trumpet solos are mic'd and sent through speakers programmed with different sound effects. The reason a few might sound a bit off are because the sound effects are meant to make them sound that way, thus fitting the "odd" theme. These 3 guys are the absolute best, take my word for it!

I think this is the BEST Avon show yet. The concept is witty and the execution at this stage is excellent. This will be utterly BRILLIANT by BOA finals. You play exceptionally well and your directors and instructors put A LOT of thought into show design. BEST OF LUCK!
