"Happy Holidays" doesn' include everyone because of the time it's said. I mean think about it! The only time anyone says it is around Christmastime and the only holidays to celebrate at that time are Christmas and Honakkuh. So we are really saying "Happy Jewish/Christian Holidays!"

No the whole getting rid of Christmas is true. I worked in a preschool and winter comes around we couldn't have a single Christmas book. Any other winter holiday we had several books for and could talk about them all we wanted but Christmas was never allowed to be mentioned.

Halloween was set up by the Catholic Church to offset a pagan holiday, just like Christmas was. No where in the Bible are Christians commanded to celebrate Christ's birth. But we are commanded to celebrate his death/resurrection.
So technically. Christmas and Halloween should be on the same level of Holidayness and Good Friday and Easter should be higher up. :)

I suppose it's the way people interpret it that's the problem. But as long as you don't go about blowing yourself and other people up in the name of your god, I don't care what your holy book says. Halloween was set up by the Catholic Church to offset a pagan holiday, just like Christmas was. No where in the Bible are Christians commanded to celebrate Christ's birth. But we are commanded to celebrate his death/resurrection.
So technically. Christmas and Halloween should be on the same level of Holidayness and Good Friday and Easter should be higher up. :)

@kimzonline personally, i don't know. however, i watched a program about the life of jesus christ on the history channel. i believe the archeologists who looked into his life would have a pretty good idea though. i appreciate that you are farmer now. 2000 years ago, things may have been done different. i'm over this topic. people have faith and i respect that, my faith is elsewhere. sorry i said anything, i just don't like some of the things this comedian is saying.

i find it really stupid that people get offended by people saying merry Christmas when it IS Christmas! If you want to say happy Hanuka (sorry my spelling is crap) or happy Kwanzaa, that's fine but don't get offended over a word!
and the whole thing about separation of church and state, look at England around the founding of America and you'll see why founding fathers wanted to keep the state out of the church.

i find it annoying when people put X in cards or start putting Channukah and Christmas together for a weired name and pretend you can blend things like that. that is when the identity is going down the drain and emptiness sets in. although i don't celebrate Christmas - i never understood the end of the year sales - it's a Christmas sale.
political correctness will kill all of us, but don't blame it on me - it's your invention.
