I have that gun you shoulda just used paint thinner woulda took 5 minutes. LOL all you needed to do was make sure you didnt get any on the internals and you were good. its funny because now we can see tons of deep scratches in your gun only way thats going to go away is if you sand it again with higher grit paper lol.

what grit did you go up to, looks about 800. if you go to 2000 and a quick polish with a rag and compound it will be like chrome. because its cast zinc the zurface is almost like its bead blasted, very time consuming i know

it wont rust as its not steel - its made from zinc frame and zinc will never rust - all replicas and most airsoft guns are made from zinc as it enables them not to be converted to fire real ammo as the metal is not strong enough and would explode- all in all this gun wont rust due to the fact its zinc and not steel or any other type of metal - nice gun good review dude.....my friend has a ww2 deactivated m1911 a lovely item of conversation.....

@we66y357 "it wont rust as its not steel - its made from zinc" Sorry man airsoft manufacturers don't use 100% zinc they mostly use aluminium alloys with a content of silicon, iron, copper, chromium, titanium and about 95% aluminium. As for rust there is no such thing when it comes to aluminium instead it corrodes to form a layer or aluminium oxide which seals the metal from further corrosion.

No one uses 100% zinc it is used as an anti corrosive as in galvanizing.
