I think this was may have been filmed the weekend before Thanksgiving in 1992. A college friend and I were in the area at the time, an I remember lots of damage on the east side of Indianapolis.
I remember this too!! I think this was anywhere between 1993 and 1995. I was going to Arlington High School and I remember the church that was being built at 46th and Emerson got hit and a few homes around it! WOW!!!
1992 is a good guess, going by the radar and graphics....could be even a year or two earlier....Dave James was with WRTV until, IIRC, 1999 or 2000? Bob McLain and Dave were together at the station for about 2 decades.
It was most likely in the early 90's and during a weekend as David James was the weekend meteorologist. Also I can tell it's at least early 90's if not sooner by the type of radar view they were using. I miss seeing that. I used to remember Bob Mcclain would walk off screen, hear him flip a switch, and then only the turbulance (Purple Colors) would show up. Classic stuff!
