i'm surprised he would leave his #1 axe in a truck in the texas summer heat man that is crazy he couldeasliy ruin the neck have warpping issues..i just can't see doing somethg like that to any guitar i cared about..its not like he can just go get another one it has been modified so it would be a hassle..never leave your guitar in high heat/humidity..
@tstrahle My story was I saw him in a concert and I got locked out of my room, so when I went down the elevator I meet Jon on there. We became good friends. The next concert we went to he got us back stage. He is really nice. lol thats my story
@Dedalusalley The Boss tuners have a buffer build in. So, besides the tuning function, it also buffers the signal before it goes into the chain of the rest of the pedals. It's a great extra you get with this pedals.
@bringback10klf I know what you mean. I don't think it's so much the phrasing you refer to but that violin like sound that Bonamassa has, which is, i think, Eric Johnson's signature sound. Always thought it had something to do with a Marshall amp, but this guy doesn't use one, so I'm back to zero in my quest to find the ultimate tone, LOL
if the wax on your pickups melts from being in a hot truck you should probably learn to keep your guitars with you instead of leaving them to get damaged.
Jesus Christ this dude knows his shit! Every tone he plays is amazing in its own unique way, and he's such a versitile player... I'm very jelous. hahaha. Can't compare to a legend though, I guess!
Thanks for these!!! What brand/model mic is on the cab? These are always very nice and thorough, but that's just one thing I'm always very curious about and sometimes gets overlooked.
I could watch Rig Rundowns all day and all night. It's safe to say that they are my favorite thing to watch, period. I only wish there were more of them and they came out 2 or 3 a day. It's nice to see the real famous rigs, but I would love to see just about any pro touring guitarists live setup.
It would also be entertaining if you guys did a "studio rig rundown" version.....Though I'm sure that's a bit tougher to arrange, that's where the really pricy rigs are unveiled.
A truly brilliant Guitar player, and obviously a nice bloke with it. Seems most of the really great players have no need to be egotistical or competitive-there is a lesson there.
I hope you guys do some more bass rundowns. Because your reviewers are great at what they do, and they always ask the right questions, and let the person talk when they need to.
@acledfloyd I do it with mine. I guess that they are fret-forward in shops is simply to display the upper surface; a strings-away position means that I can pick up, rotate to horizontal/diagonal and start playing.

This is how I want rig rundowns to be... with the actual artist, and the actual artist playing!!
PG should try harder to make this happen in all RR's. ;)

I was just a kid when my sister brought a friend home from IU and her boyfriend was Jon Herington. We jammed for a quite a while. He was very nice.

I don't understand the thing that he says about the tuner. Is he using it as a buffer? Can someone please explain? Thanks :)

I have to admit, I used to get annoyed when guitarists didn't actually know about the gear they were using.
Jon kind of redeems them though, he puts as much care into his gear as someone like me. He knows exactly what's going on and when it's happening.
A testament to gear junkies like myself everywhere.
