Correcting myself in last post I meant to say the 4th string not the 5th sorry.

I watched someone else to see about the E minor and found that the 5th string is played. Watch R.E.M.-Everybody Hurts-Acoustic Guitar Lesson by WeWalkInTheDream. I still have a hell of a time doing the bar chords LOL. Noticed though that he doesn't move his bar finger just the other 3 which helps me a little.

one question on the playing of the E minor? I noticed that when you play the it you are holding down strings 5 and 4 yet you never play them two string. So my question is why even hold them down if you only play on strings 6,3,2,and 1? I've been playing all 6 strings during the E minor going from 6,5,4,1,2,3. Is this not right cause it sounds right to me? Not trying to be difficult just don't make sense to hold down strings you don't even play.
