What a nice time to hear this beautiful anthem...i.e. time so many of us around the world are sending out good thoughts and prayers for Japan. It was perfectly executed! Notice the hands as they marched....perfect unison. I pray for peace and friendship between Japan and the USA always. And recovery and prosperity for Japan!
i feel sadness in the anthem itself andto think they were once people with high pride but after the war they changed T_T i feel kinda bad for the people of japan but atleast they are advance in technology hahaha and im loving it ^_^

It was the warlord of that time that got Japan in that war. Not its people. I also believe that the emperor if that time was duped into allowing Japan to get into that war through duress by those war lords. I mean look at the facts. Ever see an Japanese tank of that time compared to its enemy's tanks. And did they even have the resources/raw materials for a sustained war in the first place. Did they even do a feasibility study? Think about it. That's not even a shot in the dark...
this national anthem expresses the feelings of the people of Japan knowing they had lost the war. It sounds very solemn and gloomy. It sounds very good. I like!
My family is Japanese, and I have Japanese blood in me. The words in Kimigayo don't exactly scream: "we have changed". Of course Japan has changed yes, but you can't change historie. Since this song hasn't been change or anything, I can't help but remember the horrible things, that Japan did to Asia and Japan it self.
The war has completely ruined the pride in most of the traditional ways, and turned Japan into what one could see, as a replica of America, and I find that very sad.
ok i see but dont foreget this my master is japanese and he died by the blade a swword some of the old ways are still beeing followed and i dont think japan had any right to whatt they did but crap happens.
so live life feel good about your blood and culture and never foreget poeple can and will change even if i have to make them hahaha
@Mohsin77 Well, even if dropping to atomic bombs on some isn't very nice, to them or to the world. The alternative was to try and embark on land with troops and ground forces. Japan would not have surrendered before absolute everything was lost and every single healthy man and woman in Japan was dead or dieing. It would have been Germany all over again. So even with all that was destroyed and all who where killed by the atomic bomb, dropping them probably saved lives. Even if it was horrible...
@Mohsin77 Did you even read what I said? It WAS horrible, but millions where gonna die no matter what anyone would have done, it not like I would have dropped the bomb, but even you, should understand that there WAS good intentions behind the bomb. Besides, Trueman did what he jugged to be right, don't like it? Then don't do it again.
@EmilTakagi LOL good intentions .. wow what a sheep XD if Truman told you to kill your family you would probably do it ... after all he only had good intentions, you knew him personally right ? good friends yeah ? LOOOOOOL XD idiot.
@GeneralArrow I'm afraid all history, or most of it, is forged by warfare, just look at Europa and Asia in general. I'm sorry but, what do you mean by "traumatized by war", as in "we don't like that stuff"? or like post-traumatic stress?
it sounds like a variation of "sword drawn police", which is my personal favorite of Japanese military band pieces. It probably isn't but it sounds related enough to be perhaps by the same composer.
Very beautifully played...but that was the ENTIRE Anthem?! MAN, that was short...and to the point! Gotta love that.

Every time I hear the Kimigayo I fell sort of sad for the part Japan played in WWII. A somewhat dark chapter in the history of a great country.

In a bad way. It's almost saying that they want the empire back and continuing raping Asia.
