  • my favorite python!

  • If only Chapman were here to be interviewed :( rly rly wish he was still alive

  • Aww, poor little boy... What a jerk that guy was, to ask a kid up on stage and then snap at him. A professional would have made the most of his overly keen volunteer instead of biting his head off. It's amazing how this stuff stays with you. That would have been enough to keep me off a stage for the rest of my life.

  • @12rvp Honey, don't feel weird there are a lot of us that agree. He is a hottie.

  • My MoM looks like Mr Palin =]

Sorry Mom, sorry Mr Palin =]

    LOVE YOU BOTH !! =]

  • Michael, you are simply gorgeous.

  • Greatest Palin ever!!! Not that he has much competition though.

  • I wonder what that Blue Plaque says...

  • i bought my first car from michael palins cousin's son LOL in waltham abbey essex

thats my only claim to fame LOL

  • Amazing that I wasn't even born when these guys were at the height of their career, yet I love them more than any other contemporary production I have come across. Same with Iron Maiden... I'm beginning to think that the '70s must have been a great time :)

It's great to watch these videos and see that they are exactly the same chaps who acted all that sh*t back in their 20s, they are just as charming and amazing as they were back then :)

  • @Csoery Iron Maiden played in the 70s?

  • @jockejocke1 Yes, IM goes back as far ar 1975.

  • @Csoery But the first album came in 1980, right?

They must have been very small before that? Or were they known throughout the whole U.K. in the seventies as well?

  • @jockejocke1 Yep, that's right! They weren"t too famous before the '80s.

  • michael palin was cuteee in the holy grail ............. and stilll iss

  • Hes me fav, comic legends!!!

  • such an attractive guy :)

  • proving that not all Palins are without humour....

  • Hoever, all Palins provide humor, intentionally or not! : )

  • @kaitimebb

i think john cleese would have to object :P (watch the link)

    /watch?v=jMyNk8J1c8g

  • Michael Palin was by far the most attractive member of the Pythons (or is it the Montys [Monties?]?)

  • pythons

  • Attractive?? he woz gorgeous when he woz younger.....woo.....gotta love monty python...

  • that seems to be what most pepole think. me, I would vote for eric or graham. erics odd ball charm and big smile, grahams amazing eyes and cute dimples. *sigh*

  • that magician was mean!

  • how do they still look the same as they did 40 years ago *envy*

  • He is such a cute guy!

  • Monty Python is the funniest comedy show ever.

  • Monty Python's Flying Circus, for me, has got to be the funniest shows on earth. I think I prefer British comedy than American comedy. I don't know why, but SNL had people who were influenced by Monty Python. And I like SNL. It would be nice for Monty Python to get back together again, but, as they say, they can't because Graham's dead. Monty Python is my influence for acting and I think Mike is really, really cute. Honestly. And he's my favorite Python.

  • Hey guys thanks for doing this. You know with TV you influence peoplle 30 years ago. Children who became cool people with some awarness.

I hope with internet you manage to that on todays younger generation.

(I know my english is bad, but you know what I mean.)

  • After all the excitment of the actual Monty Python's Flying Circus, how long have I waited for the remaining members to belatedly calm down and tell us how and why it happened. Here they are in the 'on-line' series: 'Monty Python Talks About...' I am very pleased that they have done it as there is precious little on television. Thank you: all of you!

  • I like that room.

  • He seriously looks like my grandmother. I love it! And it makes me love him even more

  • Grandmother?! ROFLLMAO! My mum did that thing, you know that website that shows what famous people you look like? Well, it said she looks like Mikey. My boyfriend at the time was slightly horrified 'cause I have such a crush on him.

  • Extraordinary how he can look so cute in his old age - maybe because we sort of grew up with his dashing, younger image - but he still looks quite amazing.

  • He's such a nice bloke, Michael Palin

  • yeah but that Mr. Burns thing he is doing with his hands is ironic :P

  • Very interesting.

    That mean magician.

  • I have recently just become aware of Michael palins popularity with the ladies, I am not denying that he is a highly intelligent cool dude but whats he got that the other pythons have not got? Can anyone give me some insight?

  • Looks?

  • I love Michael Palin on Monty Python and the Holy Grail ! :D

  • You are an idiot.

  • what ever happened to comedy, i wish comedy wasnt so predictable.

  • I 100% see where you're coming from, nothing like the Pythons for absurdity. I recommend seeing the 39 Steps if you get a chance, it's real comedy.

  • ill look into it

  • the show - not the movie, I forgot to specify. The movie is a thriller, not much comedy at all.

  • alright, well you said the word recommend then i shall try it

  • It seems like you have to look to animation these days, mainly on cable.

  • Hear hear.

  • they all make up monty python. you need them all. all of them are equally great because they play off from one another.

  • not me all i need is cleese and palin

  • i still prefer john cleese =D

  • same here :D

  • best comedy actor ever

  • My favourite!

  • Even in his old age Michael Palin is still a cutie!!<3

  • Absoulutely, I want a man like him! ;))

  • though you have to realise that they wrote the scripts together and there was no arguing over parts, so its more chance as to whether their particular lines are funny. but I still love Michael the best!!!

    John Cleese comes second

  • I have never heard a bad thing about this man. Three of my friends have met him over the years and they all say he is a total gentleman. Very kind to the fans.

  • yeah!! no shit damn.

  • i love michael palin! definitely my favourite of the pythons although every single one of them is amazing to begin with. :D

  • i concur. i couldn't pick one if i had to. :-D

  • Palin has most of the truly great python lines:

-In five years they give me a brush

    -perhaps he was dictating

    etc

  • i would say Palin is the third best, always though Terry Jones was the best for his voice as a middle aged woman, Eric Idle is just hilarious, John Cleese has his moments, particularly in Fawlty Towers, but thats not Python. i never found Graham Chapman that funny, but he was sometimes

  • I think Cleese is best, Palin is amazing, Eric Idle is wonderful, I always found Graham Chapman's style hilarious, I admired Terry Jones style of acting and his direction skills, and Terry Gilliam's animations are some of the pieces that fostered my current love for animation.

    All fabulous.

  • Aaah Palin, he's so funny. I love him to bits ^.^ lol

  • Micheal Palin is the best one and the cutest one!!!

  • Yes he is my favourite too! :-D

  • same!! :D

    he is the greatest!!

  • He deserved the Oscar for Wanda.

  • NOW! Everybody else, quite content to join in, with my little scheme, of marching up and down the square?!? Hehe, crazy bastards.

  • Michael is still so cute!!!

But my favorite Python boy is Eric...

But Michael is my 2nd fave!!!!

  • Didn't Michael Palin host Saturday Night Live once or twice?

  • Yes, he did. He's hosted a few times, from the seventies up until... the late eighties, I believe. But don't quote me on that.

  • Michael Palin is so cute <3

  • he was always the cutest one :)

  • I'd still do Palin. God yes. He is still handsome.

It should be noted that I don't mean Sarah...

  • LOL, Cleese said last fall that Michael was no longer the funniest Palin he knew of.

  • I went to the cromer pier show!!!

  • The swooning of the fangirls may begin:

Michael will be Don Quixote for Terry Gilliam's production, which is starting up again January 2009. Johnny Depp will play Sancho Panza.

  • Seriously? I thought that was just a rumour?

  • if those things in chain mails were true, I'd have died about 500 times now, so just stop posting it. You don't really believe that a girl with no face is coming to kill you, do you? Cause that would be kinda pathetic.

  • Glad you didn't get discouraged Michael. The world would be such a sad place without you and your acting.

  • If this man didn't have such a fantastic sense of humor, he could have been one of the finest dramatic actors in the world. Such an underrated talent in the U.S., overshadowed a bit by the popularity of John Cleese & Eric Idle here. But Mike's always been my favorite Python simply because I felt he was the best actor in the bunch. I was happy to see the other guys acknowledge that in a People interview some time ago. Would so love to have dinner & a chat with the man!

  • MICHAEL!!I <3 U!

  • I could sit and listen to Michael Palin for days.

  • He just has one of those intriguing voices, you just want to hear more from him.

  • well said my friend, well said.

  • Thanks, its the truth

  • well said my friend, well said.

  • Thanks, its the truth

  • I'm a 15 year old fan of old British TV. Michael Palin is the one actor that I would love to talk to for hours on end.

  • I am a 13 year old fan and i would just die without my old british comedy shows

  • Hell yeah, there isn't as much good stuff anymore, some modern stuff makes me laugh like The IT Crowd.

  • Peep Show... but they still don't make 'em like Monty Python anymore.

  • Very cool. I'm 45 but was about 13 when I discovered them when I lived in Canada. My best friend and I would do the sketches at our desks the next day at class - like everybody does now of course - but back then our teacher called our mothers to see if we were 'normal'! lol I saw Spamalot in London England last year and it seemed fitting that I still worship them over thirty years later.

  • haha i think i only found out about them about 4/5 years ago and im only 14 now...

But sometimes i get 'lonely' at school etc cuz almost no one knows the pythons etc.

Oh except for one of my mates.. we have our moments in class lol...

  • A friend of mine told me about Monty Python about 4-5 years ago as well and I'm now 21. First thing I ever saw of them was the quest for the holy grail and I think I never laughed so much... until I saw their other sketches here on youtube that is :P

  • ITSSSSSSSS......

  • Michael Palin has my heart! I love this man. Articulate, intelligent, a good person, and funny. What more could you ask for. Read his Diaries.

  • Acting...I am one of those people who act all the time off stage but have not the attention span for acting on stage. I also have a mother

for an actor. I hate going to see films with

her and in college never invited her. Oh well.

  • MORE PYTHON VIDEOSSSS!!!

It's so nice to see them on youtube

  • these videos are great, keep 'em up.

  • if ever I could have a sit down with anyone in the world Michael Palin would be on the top of my list.

  • There must have been a whole lot of miserable adults around before the enlightenment of the 60's! I really do think that there a lot more adults these days with more empathy towards children. Of course there are still a lot of misery guts but somehow the miserable experiences that many of us had, has converted us to empathy towards children.

  • Yes, this are all my heroes. People like this should rule the world! Oh, that would be great, to see every day on TV: Palin, Gilliam, Cleese,... instead of all those boring politics crap.

  • So great to have you guys on YouTube!

  • Oh I must say, I love Michael Palin with every ounce of my being. :)

  • amen to that logic ^^

  • "For Christ's sake, stop mucking about!"

    Aww

Poor, poor 8 or 9 year old Michael! :-(

  • Hey Michael, NEVER stop mucking about. I love your characters.

  • Michael's acting in Brazil is spine chilling - cold evil, which is an amazing achievement for someone who is primarily thought of as a comedy actor.

  • Oh my gosh! How ironic for Michael to be the one talking about acting! He should really get back into it :)

  • roseypikapika: "He should really get back into it"

Why? He did A Fish Called Wanda. After that, he really doesn't have to prove anything to anybody. That was an amazing performance with comedy and pathos and stuttering and fish loving and fish cannibalism - what more could we possibly ever want from Michael Palin?

Would you ask Dustin Hoffman to play Captain Hook again? Of course not... unless you're gluttons for punishment. Palin could play Captain Hook, and run circles around Hoffman.

  • You obviously have never heard Terry Gilliam's pleas or even Robert Lindsay's casual conversation about Michael getting back into acting. I'm not saying he'll exceed himself in acting than that he did in A Fish Called Wanda, but seeing more of Michael's talent is still possible. Dustin Hoffman still acts does he not? Because his chance of brilliance still exists. I do have more to say.

  • If you think AFCW is Michael's best (I do agree with you but) then you've been out of the 'Michael Palin' loop since 1989 (when he won his BAFTA). Have you seen the 1991 Channel Four series GBH? Michael gives a stunning performance as a dramatic actor. It earned him a BAFTA nomination, only to be beaten by Robert Lindsay who played the lead in that same show. Michael's writing of the movie American Friends also deserves high praise. I'm just saying there is a chance for Michael to show off more.

  • Hero of our time.

If he and Makoto Nagano stood together in the same room, the Universe would collapse.

  • LOL NINJA WARRIOR!! i love your reference

  • I briefly got distracted during the part where he was talking about playing Toad in "Toad Hall" and I misheard it as "turd of turd hall." I have to concentrate to understand accents sometimes.

  • thats the only version i ever heard of !:0

    whos the toad?

  • Wow, interesting to know. I particularly enjoyed your Spanish Inquisition sketch, that must have been a real favourite of mine even when I was young enough that I didn't know what all the words meant! Terrific.

  • *blinks*

    I can't effing believe this!

Michael Palin! THE Michael Palin! Talks about the first time he ever got on stage, and only 645 people have bothered to watch this?

That's like Albert Einstein coming back from the dead, shouting "E equals MC square! What a load of dung! I got somethin' better now!" and the only person who bothers to listen is the groundskeeper of the graveyard!

...okay! So it's not like that at all! That's not the point!

  • It was only uploaded yesterday. The whole MP channel is rather new as well. Relax.

  • ONLY 3,849 have bothered to take a moment out of their day to listen to A LIVING GOD OF COMEDIC GENIUS! Humanity should be ashamed of itself! I spit upon humanity! Ptew! How dare Michael Palin get such a shoddy reception AFTER ALL HE'S DONE FOR YOU! You should be ashamed of yourselves! All of you! 3,849? That's all? Hanging's too good for you.

  • Something tells me you think you're a lot funnier than you actually are. Good luck with that.

  • since every comment on this page seems to be a joke, i refuse to say something funny...

  • too late what you said was funny...

  • How fun it would be to wander through Michael Palin's library and see what books he has on his shelves...

  • His book of personal diaries from the 70's is really interesting.

  • Well, you did an awfully good job playing Rat in the animated version at least.

  • Monty Python is our biggest influence.

  • Monty Python has an influence on the word influence.

  • Really? Well, you have a peerless primary influence then (and, flattery for the win, Monty Python's excellent example must have rubbed off on you)!

  • it does come through in your stuff man. By the way Chad Vader is awsome.
