Aww, poor little boy... What a jerk that guy was, to ask a kid up on stage and then snap at him. A professional would have made the most of his overly keen volunteer instead of biting his head off. It's amazing how this stuff stays with you. That would have been enough to keep me off a stage for the rest of my life.
Amazing that I wasn't even born when these guys were at the height of their career, yet I love them more than any other contemporary production I have come across. Same with Iron Maiden... I'm beginning to think that the '70s must have been a great time :)
It's great to watch these videos and see that they are exactly the same chaps who acted all that sh*t back in their 20s, they are just as charming and amazing as they were back then :)
that seems to be what most pepole think. me, I would vote for eric or graham. erics odd ball charm and big smile, grahams amazing eyes and cute dimples. *sigh*
Monty Python's Flying Circus, for me, has got to be the funniest shows on earth. I think I prefer British comedy than American comedy. I don't know why, but SNL had people who were influenced by Monty Python. And I like SNL. It would be nice for Monty Python to get back together again, but, as they say, they can't because Graham's dead. Monty Python is my influence for acting and I think Mike is really, really cute. Honestly. And he's my favorite Python.
After all the excitment of the actual Monty Python's Flying Circus, how long have I waited for the remaining members to belatedly calm down and tell us how and why it happened. Here they are in the 'on-line' series: 'Monty Python Talks About...' I am very pleased that they have done it as there is precious little on television. Thank you: all of you!
Grandmother?! ROFLLMAO! My mum did that thing, you know that website that shows what famous people you look like? Well, it said she looks like Mikey. My boyfriend at the time was slightly horrified 'cause I have such a crush on him.
Extraordinary how he can look so cute in his old age - maybe because we sort of grew up with his dashing, younger image - but he still looks quite amazing.
I have recently just become aware of Michael palins popularity with the ladies, I am not denying that he is a highly intelligent cool dude but whats he got that the other pythons have not got? Can anyone give me some insight?
though you have to realise that they wrote the scripts together and there was no arguing over parts, so its more chance as to whether their particular lines are funny. but I still love Michael the best!!!
I have never heard a bad thing about this man. Three of my friends have met him over the years and they all say he is a total gentleman. Very kind to the fans.
i would say Palin is the third best, always though Terry Jones was the best for his voice as a middle aged woman, Eric Idle is just hilarious, John Cleese has his moments, particularly in Fawlty Towers, but thats not Python. i never found Graham Chapman that funny, but he was sometimes
I think Cleese is best, Palin is amazing, Eric Idle is wonderful, I always found Graham Chapman's style hilarious, I admired Terry Jones style of acting and his direction skills, and Terry Gilliam's animations are some of the pieces that fostered my current love for animation.
if those things in chain mails were true, I'd have died about 500 times now, so just stop posting it. You don't really believe that a girl with no face is coming to kill you, do you? Cause that would be kinda pathetic.
If this man didn't have such a fantastic sense of humor, he could have been one of the finest dramatic actors in the world. Such an underrated talent in the U.S., overshadowed a bit by the popularity of John Cleese & Eric Idle here. But Mike's always been my favorite Python simply because I felt he was the best actor in the bunch. I was happy to see the other guys acknowledge that in a People interview some time ago. Would so love to have dinner & a chat with the man!
Very cool. I'm 45 but was about 13 when I discovered them when I lived in Canada. My best friend and I would do the sketches at our desks the next day at class - like everybody does now of course - but back then our teacher called our mothers to see if we were 'normal'! lol I saw Spamalot in London England last year and it seemed fitting that I still worship them over thirty years later.
A friend of mine told me about Monty Python about 4-5 years ago as well and I'm now 21. First thing I ever saw of them was the quest for the holy grail and I think I never laughed so much... until I saw their other sketches here on youtube that is :P

roseypikapika: "He should really get back into it"
Why? He did A Fish Called Wanda. After that, he really doesn't have to prove anything to anybody. That was an amazing performance with comedy and pathos and stuttering and fish loving and fish cannibalism - what more could we possibly ever want from Michael Palin?
Would you ask Dustin Hoffman to play Captain Hook again? Of course not... unless you're gluttons for punishment. Palin could play Captain Hook, and run circles around Hoffman.
You obviously have never heard Terry Gilliam's pleas or even Robert Lindsay's casual conversation about Michael getting back into acting. I'm not saying he'll exceed himself in acting than that he did in A Fish Called Wanda, but seeing more of Michael's talent is still possible. Dustin Hoffman still acts does he not? Because his chance of brilliance still exists. I do have more to say.
If you think AFCW is Michael's best (I do agree with you but) then you've been out of the 'Michael Palin' loop since 1989 (when he won his BAFTA). Have you seen the 1991 Channel Four series GBH? Michael gives a stunning performance as a dramatic actor. It earned him a BAFTA nomination, only to be beaten by Robert Lindsay who played the lead in that same show. Michael's writing of the movie American Friends also deserves high praise. I'm just saying there is a chance for Michael to show off more.
I briefly got distracted during the part where he was talking about playing Toad in "Toad Hall" and I misheard it as "turd of turd hall." I have to concentrate to understand accents sometimes.
