Don't give me that GNU/Linux crap, Linux can be bundled with alternatives to the set of GNU tools and the GNU software doesn't require the Linux kernel, it can be run on top of many kernels. When someone says they use Linux it doesn't imply that they use GNU software, they could, but it is not known. When people say Linux they refer to all systems using the Linux kernel, when people say GNU/Linux they are only talking about those running the Linux kernel AND GNU software. They are different.
@nieknooijens Most noobs don't even know what an Operating system is either, they just see a E button to go on facebook to talk to their friends and you click on the W to do work.
A lot of them don't know that Microsoft makes Windows. They just know what default computers look like when you turn them on. They still struggle even with that. Also, to most people windows is free because it's bundled with the computer.
@commodore256 that's why we call the whole tig as linux, it makes explaining it a bit easier. and if you bought a pc with windows and don't wish to use it you can contact your manufacturer to get about 80-200 euro's back depending on what version you've got. the only problem here is that most manufacuterers no't appreciate it when you demand you money back, so they're gonna make it very hard for you. (ms-ses policy states that if you didn't want it you can demand for a refund)
I wanna do that, I wanna get a refund for windows from an OEM just to piss them off and use that refund to buy an OEM Windows Disc from Newegg. Just because I hate OEMs, I wanna cost them money by talking to "Steve" from India for a few hours and get my refund.
It's GNU/Linux notttttttttttttttttttttt linux get it right grrrrrrrrrr
