I'm guessing since its rated for 600 whp then i havent broken it and i need to find another reason for this sound i'm getting in low gears. would you know anything about that? i read up somewhere that replacing the alternator fixed that.

I really don't think you're getting the point. This didn't change the car's handling. It just made it so I get to the next corner faster. My family was road racing long before I had a license. I of course followed suit.

However, there's one other thing that trumps all, it's just a car. Enjoy it how you want and return that to others.

@DigitalTuls I guess everyone is to themsefls and tastes...I like the fact the Mini can do more with less and I guess you have a different approach I mean on track a 300 Mini will not be much faster then a 230HP Mini which I have and tends to be a GP version with further weight reductions props equaling power to weight ration of your 300HP Mini :) anyhow everyone has their own taste.

@Chingonshushu Don't get me wrong. That's why I got the mini. I grew up with classic minis beating up on big muscle cars because while they get blown away down the straight. They were weaving through those same cars in the turns. However, it is fun to now not only blown the muscle car guys away in the turns but when we hit the straight and they think. "haha watch this mini guy" they in fact are blown away. As for doing more with less. Making 400hp from a 1.6? Doesn't get much better.

Oh and understand, at the time that's what I was doing. I was working with MINI USA to push what the mini could do. We maxed out at 635 WHP. Using allot of stock parts.

As for a 230 hp mini not being much faster than a 300 hp one. That's a pretty silly statement. No offense. I don't know if you're talking Auto cross. But that's not road racing. If you don't think there's a significant decrease in time let alone top speed at the end of a straight with an extra 70 hp. Well, I'd try some physics.

Who ever said the mini needed anything? I just said it's fun when you see peoples faces. :D It's also a blast to drive. I also have a CVT which I equally enjoy beating up on faster cars with through super twisty drives with little to no straights. It's all fun.

300HP IS DRIVEABLE, I LOVE MINI'S AND CANT WAIT TO GET ONE- i currently own a 1992 GTI with a VR6 swap (yes its a 2.8L 6cyl in a hatchback weighting about 2400lbs with me in it) and a friend of mine has DYNO SHEETS OF HIS 92 GTI VR6-TURBO pushing 565whp to the front wheels and he was drivin fine everysingle day... its all a matter of IF the "driver" can handle it- not the road or car =D

it was a Cooper S R53. The 2009 has a bit to go before it will see 300 hp. It might be best for now to enjoy a JCW with the warranty and all. Not sure. There really hasnt been much done with the R56

the stock drive line is amazing. The only thing that has ever been an issue was the Axels being launched on 24 slicks with anti lag. After about 10 launches they snap. But how many have anti lag.. and how many are launching on slicks? ;)

2 words Torque and Steer. As for undriveable, I wouldn't say it's undriveable. but on a circuit cutting lap after lap something with less power will corner better until you hit the straight and put the power down. it's the down side to front wheel drive Braking, Cornering and Accelerating.

@VertSP1 only if you use the throttle as an on off switch. I got very good at driving this setup, never had an issue on the track. That was the great thing about the twincharge. It wasn't as twitchy as the big single turbos
