For those who don't know, Rancid is a ska punk band, like Tim's earlier band Operation Ivy (absolutely recommended). Rancid's debut album and "Let's Go" doesn't have as much ska influences as the ones who would come, but if you check out Operation Ivy's releases, you'll see that Tim is a ska punk dude. Sometimes you just need a break you know, and that's what punk is all about; not caring about other peoples opinions, and just doing what you want.

That's "Rat" with the spiked hair at :24. In 1995 we were traveling to Seattle from SF and got pulled over for speeding, the officer got us on the ground at gunpoint. this song is influenced by reggae music it is call ska, It was quite huge in England in the early to mid 80's. The clash did some ska influenced songs and Mick Jones band after The Clash broke up as well. No Doubt as well as Rancid have ska influence's in some of their songs.
