  • Pleease Send the settings!

  • @sofiehallberg

Sorry, I sold this amp years ago.

  • What amp model (ex: UK modern, metal bull, not the vt30 itself) and tone?

  • yes this thing can do some awesome metal but i started whit a noob guitar like almost evry body but than you get a good metal guitar ltd whit esp humbuckers and you make some crazy sounds

  • Settings?

  • did you mic the amp? if so, what mic and what preamp

  • this would sound more like metal if it was downtuned. (I think he's in standard, due to the upbeat kind of tone he has.

  • @bulletdeposit

Nope, it's in drop D tuning.

  • @laripsspiral i tsand corrected. but im sure it would sound like metal more if it was drop c or b.

  • what amp do you own now

  • @TheBlind97

Blackstar HT-5 combo and Tech 21 TM 60.

  • this isn't even metal dude. this amp does not excel at high gain tones. to answer your question: no, there isn't enough gain for metal

  • @frostybob123

Dependin on what kind of metal you refer to.

  • @frostybob123 i played MOP on one of these last week at guitar center. it sounded amazing for a $375 combo

  • @slayer666metalgods its a great amp for sure, i have one myself, but its not a good metal amp

  • do have the tabs for this song?????

  • @slashangus23

    Nope. :(

  • cool , settings please id appreaciate it, i just got one and im a little afraid i wont get those high gain tones

  • @fckdahlloff

Sorry, I sold this amp something like two years ago so I don't remember the settings.

  • nice tone and riffing

  • How did you record this? Just mic'd up?

  • Yup, mic'd.

  • @laripsspiral nice playing man,i want one of these amps cause i love blues, jazz well evrything. Could i put it on a clean channel and use a metal pedal and get death metal types sounds for fun when needed? thanks

  • I think that could work pretty well. Or maybe have a low gain setting for some classic rock amp and use the pedal on top of that. Haven't tried it though, most of the time I just boosted the dirty amp models.

  • You have an amazing tone. I very easily imagine this being the style of music played on the radio! good work! =]

  • Thanks!

  • Cool riffage, man, reminds me of Mötley Crüe. You almost expect to see a couple of strippers dancing to it.....:-)

BTW: your video has one major drawback.... it's way too short!!

  • Thanks!

I think the lack of strippers is another major drawback!

  • that too......

  • i really like your tone

  • Gain is one factor what about the crunch?

  • What about it? I think valvetronix does pretty nice crunch sounds too.

  • i love my vox valvetronix its the 50 wat with 2 speakers..i think works great for metal without any pedals..all i really play is death meatl and metal core and its seems to work great on the nu metal preset

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to put a twelve inch speaker into the original Vox AD30VT?

  • of course you can. but the sound won't get better i think so, why ?

  • i play virtually everything which is why I am looking at modellers, I currently marshall all tube dsl401. But the valvetronix seriously interests me. I want nice fendery type cleans, very smooth, intense and liquidy lead over drive. And as for metal just a black label, black stone cherry, symphony of destruction BIG chunky, and sludgy type tone. Would this be the amp for me?

  • VOX Valvetronix is great for cleans as far as distortion goes the best you can get out of it in my opinion is metallica level distrotion and thats only at the louder settings not good for death metal or anything like that without a pedal

  • Nice dude

    Sounds very Black Label Society

I've been thinking about getting this amp. I'm into stuff like Metallica and Iced Earth, would this amp do well with that sort of thing? I have a large amp that is, but its too big to take to jam sessions, so I'm lookin for a good sounding smaller amp.

  • It can do Metallica etc., but if I were you, I would also check out Roland's cube series.

  • hi i have the 50 xl version of this amp. but when i plug in my boss mt-2 pedal, it seems to go quiet and i cant find a clean tone to use it on. do you know any good settings i could use?? thanx

  • hmm... Not really, because I haven't played XL or mt-2. I would suggest you take some dist. preset, turn the gain almost down and then use mt-2 to boost it up.

  • hey dude, could you tab this out for me?

  • :D Too lazy... Sorry!

  • What setting was this do ya happen to know?

  • dude you are fucking sick!

may i ask what your presets are?

  • Thanks! (I guess... ;)

Sorry, I sold the amp some time ago and have no idea what the presets were.

  • alright then.

  • so if i get this amp and kick up the distortion with sum pedals...will it work for metal and stuff?

haha. well like "extreme' metal? lol

  • what guitar you got?

    Nice playing

  • Schecter 006 Blackjack

  • is this amp good enough to play metal such as cannibal corpse or slipknot?

  • This amp is not ideal for those styles.

  • An XL can handle it, though.

  • Line 6 , Mesa Boogie, Laney , Marshall, VOX any kind of amp will do it but i think is line 6 they use and dude belive me Vox WILL DO IT THEY ARE AMAZING!!

  • hell yea Vox OWNS!

  • dude i think it's pretty good for it i've had it for like 2 years and most of what i play ismetal related put it on the Nu metal preset and turn down the middle almost the whole way i think its sounds greta for death metal..even tho vox is mainly not meant for metal i suppose

  • Just wondering because I love the settings of this amp and itd be great for my bluesey and grungey stuff but im also into metallica and such. Is it possible to configure the settings so i get a decent heavy sound

  • Yup, it can do metal and hard rock, but perhaps needs an overdrive/distortion pedal to boost it for more extreme metal sounds.

  • Hit it right on the button.

I have the same amp, and the UK 70's + Big Muff makes for great doom metal sounds.

  • Hows this amp for thrash metal like slayer?

  • I think there's better amps for that style.

  • In that case you should look into the XL series, those amps can go from funky clean to ultra high gain, so a slayer tone is definitely not a problem with those.

  • what song is it man ?

  • Just some riffs I came up with.

  • sweeet playing and riff man

  • thanks

  • thnx man, i nearly decided to save £368 for a peavey amp when i couldnt afford too lol. im getting this 30 watt amp :)

  • Nice to hear :D

Do you remember your settings? xD UShighgain or NuMetal? how much gain etc..

  • Sorry, can't remember a thing. :|

  • Hi..

I was just wondering about, are you using any pedals to get this sweet sound? I just bought this amp myself :)

Are there anything bad about this amp, since you've sold it? any other amps you recommend over the Vox, in the same price range?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • No, there's no pedals in this video.

I liked the amp, I liked it a lot. In this price range, it's the best you can get IMHO. Roland cube series is good as well, or so I've heard.

I sold the Vox cause I thought I didn't need it anymore. :)

  • i play classic 80's metal, glam and sleaze metal, and 80's thrash metal, basicly generosity of 80's metal styles, you think i could get that kinda sound from this amp, if so im getting the 30 watt, write back please

  • I think this amp is very good for classic metal. Yeah, suits better classic than modern metal.

  • Awesome riff dude i got the vox 30 but i just dont use it so much ill start it up right away ... when i finally get tht riff ill make a vid =P

  • Thanks!

  • I'm loving your riff bro!

    Sounds awesome.

Could you tab it out? Heh.

  • Tune your guitar to dropped D and it should be easy to figure it out watching and listening to this video.

  • It's a hard rock amp.

you can get a really sweet hard rock sound out of it.

not really metal. when the gain hits a certain point it sounds shitty. I don't turn it up more than halfway or the tone starts to suffer

  • do u think metallica would sound good on this? can u play a song by them on it? metallica's one of my fave bands and i like 2 play a lot by them but im not sure if it would sound good on this

  • I think you could get decent Metallica sound from this amp. I've sold this amp already, so...

  • I'm definitely not buying this amp. THe distortion is to thick which isnt usually but but, it lacks depth in this case. I dont hear the tube break up. Just a flat ass tone

  • Sounds Good Bro.

I Myself Just Got My 50 watt Xl And I Now Really Love Vox

  • It would be really nice to hear some clips of that XL!

  • Umm, would you recommend this over the XL series too?

  • If you play metal, no, if you play more rock, probably yes. But then again, I haven't played the XL series.

  • Hey man... Great playing and tone!

I am thinking of getting one of these amps. Do you think the 50 watt is loud enough to play over drums, or should I get the 100?

  • I played in a metal band and I never turned the master volume over 12 o'clock, so yes, I think it's loud enough.

  • Thanks again... 50 it is then!

  • i tried the 15 watt version of that amp, i liked the lows, but i wasnt impressed by the heights much... do the improve on the 50w version?

  • I haven't played the 15W version, so I don't really know. I guess this sounds more round than bright.

  • i have the same amp, and i have no idea about the tubes in it or tubes in general.. enlighten me..

  • well the "tube" in this amp is a part of the vox valve reacter wich gives u a tubey sound without having an all tube amp.

the cool thing is the way that the valve reacter works. it changes according to what amp model u r using.

well i think its cool at least :)

  • a 12ax7

  • my settings are gain 10

    volume 10

    treble 10

    mids 2-3

    bass

    5-8 on the numetal preset,

    ya

  • Sweet. I'll be sure to try it out when I snag this amp next month.

  • treble and gain at 10?

    that must sound ridiculously annoying.

  • not really

  • Is this on a scale from 0-10?

  • that was real good! what song is that just wondering?

  • Thank you!

Just some riff I came up with.

  • mines got a pretty good metal sound, i use an ibanez sz320 w/dimarzio paf pros. its sound just like yours, for people who cant get metal sounds out of it, i just use the nu metal amp.

  • i got the same amp, but my notes deteriorate really quickly, any ideas how to fix it?

i knw its something to do with the soundgates..but not sure how to do it

    thnkkss

  • It's the noise gate you're having problems with.

Check out the manual, but basically you just need to bypass effects, hold tap button and adjust the noisegate on edit1, have your guitar on, but don't let the string vibrate, then turn it down until you hear hiss, then turn it up just to get rid of th ehiss, and there you have it.

  • oook thanks!!

  • Well done mate, the AD50VT is great value for oney - terrific tone and built in Amps & Effects, its so called weakness is a dodgy metal sound BUT this video ROCKS!

  • Value you for money, you got that right! Thanks for the comment!

  • Hey howd you do that?

    What settings are you using?

    LOVE IT BY THE WAY!

  • Thank you.

Don't remember the setting, some preset with a little tweaking.

Also, I guess it helps if you tune down.

  • i would say nickelback not bls.

  • You know your Nickelback for sure.

  • It reminds me of black label society, or later ozzy osbourne

  • Yeah...

  • I love Ozzy!

  • pretty good

  • Thank you

  • Is that the amp by itself?if so, it sounds pretty wild =]

  • Yup.

  • What guitar?

  • Schecter 006 Blackjack

  • nope.

    wal... for pussy maybe.

  • You're not into pussy then?
