  • i miss him so much, i only found out a few months after a screening of paprika at my university, i feel like someone truly inspiring has been ripped out of the world...

  • :(

  • Obviously, it was a big loss for his relatives and family, but also for the animation.

    Millenium Director

  • Sensei...You was,are and wil be 4ever ....a Genius!!J loved all your works...especially Tokyo Godfather ,4 me a masterpiece!!...Sayonara from Italy!

  • i only saw Paprika of his, but i loved it

  • When I was young I loved anime like Guyver and Fist of. and Akira, but then for years all I ve watched was Miyazaki-movies. Well I love them, but last week I discovered Paprika, and watched P.Blue (That I ve heard of back in the days) and was like: OH MY GOD. THATS PERFECT ANIME.

Instantly I went to inet to search infos about this man Mr. Kon, then I realized he died from cancer and was like: Oh my god. .. ! '

On one day I found a likeminded god of art, and the next day that.

    way too young.

  • I was flipping through the ACen program book at the end of the day, last sunday and I read "In Memory of Satoshi Kon". I was like "FUCK!" Another animation director died! One of my (10) favorite movies is "PAPRIKA". It is one of those movies you demand your friends to watch. He will be greatly missed by otaku everywhere.

  • I can't wait to see the dreaming machine. One final masterpiece

  • @TheNEWfilmfanatic99 Me neither. Looks fantastic.

  • @TheNEWfilmfanatic99 me too! I can't wait longer

  • GRANDE MAESTRO SIEMPRE VIVO!

  • Before Inception, there was Paprika.

Before Black Swan, there was Perfect Blue.

  • @geekboyII

so true ..... i kinda notice that those movies are based on his anime ....

  • I haven't seen Perfect Blue yet But Tokyo Godfathers proved it is still possible to make an original Christmas Movie. I bow to you sir and thank you for what you have shown us.

  • :'( oh man first osamu tezuka dies at 60 in 1989, then shotaro ishinomori dies at 60 in 1998, and now satoshi kon dies at 46 in 2010, makes me mad, sick, tired and upset, about hayao miyazaki because they think he's still, hayao loves directing everyone to design a character as a too much main young girls and women with brown hair than black hair like satoshi kon's main young girls and women, I wish you guys to drug and kill hayao miyazaki, I don't care how influenced himself by disney & ghibli

  • I know everybody is very upset over the death of Satoshi Kon, but, there's always Hayao Miyazaki (if you haven't heard of him, look him up, he directed some other breathtaking anime films).

  • @XamilleTheXrazy I'm upset too, just like they upset how much they love osamu tezuka on wikipedia. org/wiki/Osamu_Tezuka and shotaro ishinomori on wikipedia. org/wiki/Shotaro_Ishinomori

now I'm jealous becuz I already heard hayao miyazaki, the lively conceited bastard, and he likes to direct crazy to staff members to design a main pathetic, tear jerking, cute ugly young girls and women with too many brown hair, and his ghibli studios he owns it, and his too many movies every years for all ages

  • yeah like 0:40 is a nice way to remember him by...:/

  • it is not a godbye it is just a until we meet again ^^

  • You might of left us in this world but you will live in our dreams forever

  • I love this movie for paprika

  • @Taylorjo17 I love to see the satoshi kon's anime girl's cute dollface like faces with pink lips on it's mouth showing seemingly than hayao miyzaki's seemingly cute ugly anime girl's faces without pink lips and her persistent brown hair of poorly crap, and his influenced by late walt disney at 65. Why must satoshi kon die young?! WHY!?!?

    damn cancer!

  • perfect blue is my fave movie of all time. You will be missed satoshi kon

  • R.I.P. Thank you for your wonderful creations.

  • i find it yust now im sad he was best R.I.P.

  • R.I.P.

  • I cried.

  • @Dr4snus and I DON'T CARE ABOUT HAYAO MIYAZAKI!!

  • @poopybooyah

I didn't say anything about Miyazaki.

Though from some of the shit you've been saying about him, Satoshi Kon would be disgusted with you.

  • @Dr4snus I was talking about when people die to make them sad, then jealous, and then revenge to kill another people to make it even gladly, that means you guys have to kill hayao miyazaki to visit satoshi kon in heaven or hell, you guys have to say "Sorry mr. miyazaki, this is for your own good"

see? that's why it's just gladly even, hope you guys still sad about satoshi kon, just like michael jackson, bernie mac, farrah fawcett, steve irwin, gary coleman and billy mays.

  • Rest in peace Satoshi Kon... :(

    Good bye from Italy... :(

  • I was going to look for his next project online. Then I saw "46 year old director dies" on my home page. I clicked on it and was devastated by what I saw. A long day got very much longer. God rest your soul Kon-san, and bless your family. I have no words.

  • I salute Kon for his films as well, man. Out of all of them, Paprika was my favorite. Something about it just clicks with me every damn time.

  • I'm thinking about that episode in paranoia agent "happy family outing" esp. the end. By far one of the greatest works I have ever seen he was very magical.

  • I've had that song for almost two years now on my mp4 player, I was on my latest Paprika Binge this last few weeks.

  • NO! Such a shock! He was far too young!

  • Nujabes earlier this year, and now Kon? Sad days indeed...sad days. When you needed a bit of animation with a story that didn't talk down to you, Kon was one of the few who could pull it off so well.

If you happen to be in the business of animating or are considering that trade, please do yourself a favor and watch Kon's films. You'll be a lot better off in your career if you do! =)

And, tradathegreat? Thanks for using one of my favorite tunes to be the background track for this! =)

  • Ciao Satoshi. Buon viaggio.

  • Rest In Peace Satoshi Kon

May Your Work Continue To Inspire Others

  • You Will Continue to Inspire Us. RIP

  • "With feelings of gratitude for all that is good in this world, I put down my pen.

    Well, I'll be leaving now."

    -Satoshi Kon
