Jun, the nuclear attacks against those two cities were conducted because the U.S. of A's president wanted to show Stalin that they have the greater balls. You do know what happened in Soviet occupied territories after the war. Nuking those two CITIES instead of some other way of show-off was totally unnecessary. The USA could ended the war without A-bombs or Operation Olympic... just they did not felt like it.
