  • nearly that time of year again big bro happy birthday for thursday.Hope you are finally at rest. R.I.P .Little bro Jason and Grace

  • happy birthday big bro, love little bro jason xx

  • Are they still demonstrating there?

I really want some free camping and partying with the hippies.

Like the freak taslin here, who commented such hilarious rubbish, the hippies are crazy/stupid, but man they can party, and are really nice friendly guys.

Had a great time in '08 with them, and the dog loved it.

Please tell me the demo is still on, cos I really need some free campaing before the weather turns really really cold

  • We are the children of mother earth who breed suffering as well as peace....Who destroy and yet create.

We must awaken to the voice of the earth that is calling before it is too late

Thank you for making this video

    Peace, love and respect

    Taslin

  • disgusting that they think they can do that we are given this earth by slight of hand annd what do we do destroy her shame on all those involved

  • Hmmm ;o/ Love the video

    Respect The Earth !!

  • Stanton moor is a sacred place, sacred for its beauty, sacred for its history, but to the money 'men' its just shit.

But there's more at Stanton than stone, more to why they hack that hill and not the countless others round there, the same marks on the side of some of the rocks are on Masonic buildings, a knowledge that the few like to keep for themselves. It's why there's a mast a stones throw from an ancient site, why they dont like pagans going up there, it's why they try to change the lines.

  • RIP Craig..........Craig lived with me for a while on my bus, whilst we went round Wales, doing the Free Festivals......I took Craig to Nine Ladies many years ago, and we slept within the stones with another departed friend (John Mac.)...Its good to see Craig stayed true with his beliefs......onwards and upwards....Waka.

  • i all so stayed there...they are great people and some had left there high powered jobs because it is wrong in what the query people are doing ...a large % of the town supports them and even sent food up....most all so were working and staying when they could .. x

in support of this group and there campaign

  • did u know crag or craig taylor died on16.08.2009 the bloke in the video and we buried him on friday .he was my elder brother

  • thats very true, and i also supported the cause. But most of the people living there, only lived there because of the drugs and free living, most of them were a waste of skin and bones.

  • what happened to barby?

and what happened to that little girl that was always covered in mud?

fucking hippy lay abouts, im happy for what they did, i agree the quarrying was wrong, but the entire drug culture and the fact non of them had jobs is just fucking stupid.

  • I lived on the site for over two years &must say that your comment is narrow minded.

I was working whilst living there,as others did.

Also for some their job is defending the landscape.this included sitting on site because while they were there, they could not quarry. These people had a passion and a belief that they could make a difference and what they do in their personal time is nothing to do with anyone else.

Things aren't so straight forward & the lifestyle was not an easy option.

  • i stayed on site for 6 weeks in 2001 and i'm glad i did, a good job well done, rest in peace those that passed away..........

  • Dont know if you will get to read this Tash, but finally the quarry was prevented. You all did a fine job.

Thanks from a lover of Stanton

    john

I met Jo one evening outside the Red Lion before they were moved on, why I dont know

  • Does Graham still knock that shitty coke out for £65 a gram? Robbing cunt!

  • Nice vid. btw kernowfem Get a life you are realy not inportant here! thanks for vid post and happy xmas

  • lmao thats important dipshit. get a life? hmmm may try living in a caravan and not washing for six months this year, ill be really living then-twat.

  • lol *laffs*

  • KERNOWFEM is prob the onli 1 talking any sense i lives a quarter of a mile from the site and since the scroungin lay abouts have been ere stanton is a shit hole quarry workers work damn hard something that these protestas dont understand The majority of ppl in stanton or darley dale dont want you ere we neva did get a life get lost and the coke post just goes to proove wat a bunch of scum we have livin on our doorstep How mani locals houses did ya rob to pay 4 it eh

  • This is absolutely rediculous... get your facts right. i think you will find crime did not go up during the stay in Stanton. The protest was not again the quarry workers but against the big bosses who want to rip up beautiful parts of the countryside. The site has now been restored back to nature and everyone has left. If you have nothing positive to say please dont bother

  • Oh and just an added thought, i notice all protesters have vans cars caravans and huge, gas guzzling buses, may i remind you of two things. Firstly if it wasnt for quarry's no roads would be built for you to use, and secondly if u cared so much for the environment you;d use cycles and horses, not the smoke belching, heavy oil vehicles you seem to favour.

  • we are not against quarries , just when they are being built in english heritage land, beauty spots, sites of neolithic intrest, national parks etc, to build mcdonalds in blackpool and so forth. Name 1 other country that allows its national parks to be quarried? and then think about why you cant name any. . . .

  • go right to the beginning of my posts on this matter. My initial post was not against your cause, it was however to ask why, protest sites cannot be kept tidy? what made my blood boil was being called ignorant and thoughtless because i dared to ask a question, a further post then deemed people who live in houses lazy. this attitude does nothing to endeer us to protesters. I admire anyone who fights for their cause, just dont attack us because we are not of the same mind or principle.

  • the negative and agressive comments posted here are blatently written by the quarry workers who only care about their wage slips

at least the protesters are doing something meaningful and positive with their lives

  • i work for the NHS not the quarry company.i save lives love, THATS meaningful. i simply have to live along side the shithole of a protest site. as for verity, did you not say that 'if they were lazy they'd live in a house like you?'. surprise surprise you are a protester yourself. do you just flick a switch when you use your laptop, how do you charge it? Sheer hypocrosy. ill take my aggresive comments elsewhere, when you take your judgemental ones and stick em where the sun dont shine.

  • Oh and WHILE your about it VERITY, stick YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON UP YOUR ARSE.....

  • I also live in house (isnt that where humans are supposed to reside?) but im not lazy. I work 14 hour shifts for the NHS and get stopped £192 a week tax, to keep half the idle, bloody protesters at stanton lees on the dole!!! Go spout your do good shite elsewhere, its boring me to death.

  • oi who do you think you are ?? there is nothing wrong with people living the way they wont too

  • Exactly, so why am i being judged AND called LAZY for living in a house. The difference is i dont leave my crap laying around your front door. as for who do i think i am.... Do not call me lazy, ignorant or thoughtless simply because i dont want to live on a glorified campsite. dont give, if you cant take.

  • Absolutely not. i dont dispute that. however, protesters claim dole, and child benefit in order to live like they do. Where does that money come from? tax payers, i.e, quarry workers, factory workers, lorry drivers and the workers of recently built mcdonalds in blackpool, the very people you look down on from your great moral high-ground. im not afraid to be educated by protesters,in fact i dont doubt i could learn something from you. i just take offence at being branded ignorant by hypocrits.

  • The PROTESTERS are STILL THERE as the SECRETARY OF STATE is YET TO SIGN THE LANDSWAP AGREEMENT. UNTIL THEN THIS BEAUTY SPOT IS NOT SAFE FROM THE THREAT OF QUARRYING. (there is also a lot of structures being taken down before they can leave)

  • THE REASON THERE IS AN OVERFLOWING SKIP ETC IS THAT THE QUARRY COMPANY IS FAILING TO EMPTY IT LIKE THEY PROMISED. They NEED it EMPTIED so SITE can be DISMANTLED (the protest site also recycles more rubbish than the whole of MATLOCK) THE NINE LADIES CIRCLE itself has been improved while site has existed as PROTESTERS STOP kids lighting fires in the stones and tidy up after them. the comments left here are so ignorant, and not very well thought out!

  • Regardless of what you think our comments are love, while ever we have to live along side that shithole, we have a right to say whatever we bloody feel. How cheeky that the protesters get in the way of the quarry companys business, but yet expect them to clean up their mess, Id make the dirty, scruffy, freeloading arseholes who made the mess in the first place clean it up!

IGNORANT AND THOUGHTLESS? we should become a protester, we'd fit right in!!!!

  • Why not protest and keep it tidy?(or just keep it tidy now the threat has past) i use the lane every single day and it never fails to amaze me what a mess it's in. broken kids toys, over flowing skip, rusty knackered old vans (many without tax) and just general rubbish. Where's the council to make them tidy it up. fair enough, they won the battle and stopped the quarry, so why the hell are they making a shithole of such a beautiful spot???

  • True, the protestors have wrecked the place, there noisy, dirty and leave rubbish everywhere, there trucks are always blocking the lane, there isn't even a threat of quarrying anymore, why are they still there? cause they are drop outs, who need a cause to justify there laziness

  • It's about time us locals started a campaign to get rid of nomarks once and for all!

  • i agre. i spent a couple nights there with them though and they are nice guys with the attitude to do something (and the time on their hands obviously). the bottom line is that the 9 ladies wouldnt be there if they didnt do that. have they not moved on yet? i thought the protest was over? i was there a year ago, and it was fairly done then, and they said they would be gone in about 3 months.

  • the protest is not over until the paperwork is all signed by the government and that keeps getting delayed.

  • oh, thanks. when i went last year i was told by the people there that they were going in about 3 months as everything was in the process of being signed.

thanks for telling me. i will go and have another few days up there soon then.

i think its great what they are doing, and while i dont have that kind of dedication (i would just have one less place to go sightseeing if it were gone, and i still have plenty more, so bad as it is, it isnt devastating is it?), i do like to go there.

  • If you had bothered to ask some1 you would know that there is still threat of quarrying as no agreement has been signed yet (by secretary of state). LIVING OUT DOORS IS NOT easy as you need to build fire+chop wood just to keep warm etc, all you do is flick a switch. IF THEY WERE LAZY THEY'D BE LIVING IN A HOUSE LIKE YOU.

  • GET OUT!

  • So where do you live then? on the streets? in a tree? no, in a HOUSE you LAZY cow!

  • no, i live on a protest site actually. and i didnt say everyone who lived in a house was lazy, just pointing out that its hard work living on site. take your aggresive comments somewhere else.

  • hahaha what a stupid statement, you truely are retarded, all the fucking pills have gone to you uneducated head.

  • Comment removed

  • By the way, as for these protestors being a bit grubby, well helloo...they live outdoors! How long would a Mark's And Spencers jumper and trainers last if you camped in the woods for months on end?

  • It ain't hippy crap. We can't eat money, but nature is a meal ticket forever if we care for it. We need SUSTAINABILITY, not short-term profits and a ravaged earth. THINK! never mind, when it's all concrete and there's no more greenery, at least you'll be able to stay in and watch plenty of documentaries about nature!

  • It's short-term gain for a few, and long-term loss for the many. Imagine if you were so poor you had to sell your body parts to science. "Here's a lung, OK, never mind, got another one..great,I can eat for a few weeks..oops! Skint again! Sell a leg. Oops! That organ-donation money didn't last long! Quick, sell a kidney. Wait..if I ran out of body parts to sell, but the money's run out!" Well, this is THE SAME!

  • There are some stupid comments on here. Yeah, try and restore it, after 'short-term' destruction, but it'll never be the same. Quarrying messes up the ground water, so the trees won't neccessarily grow back. And after the quarrying's finished, then what? Apart from trashing a nice beauty spot, it'll be back to square one as far as jobs and local economy are concerned, once the quarry's stripped of its riches.

  • Stanton Lees is a local town for local people, we'll have no trouble here

  • so all you idle tree hugging tossers fuck off back where u came from we dont want you, youre making more of a mess than any quarry would, stop sponging off of us taxpayers and have a fucking wash please u all stink.

  • Hooorah my friend hoorah!

  • i too live local and havnt found anybody nearby who agrees with them they are just social outcasts sponging off the country so they can live like fucking tramps, what these misfits dont realise is the small villages around us havnt got big office blocks to support the locals we have to earn money somehow and if quarrying is the only way we can stop the fucking holiday home brigade then so be it.

  • Too right, they don't really give a shit. I was there a while ago and all i saw was burnt ground where they had fires, fires fueled by the trees they had cut down, rubbish all over the sodding place. Then in a secluded spot, bin bags full of crap a babies nappies. Twofaced biggoted wankers.

  • Saving the countryside? BOLLOCKS! I live close by and walk my dog up their regulary. Its just full of dirty fucking smelly bastards having raves monthly and selling MDMA for a living.Get a real job you work shy fucks and leave us locals alone! Fuck off back home to mummy and daddy and take your piss smelling dreadlocks with you!

  • you wouldnt be walking your dog there if it wasnt for these people. you really think youd relish the thought of stripping off and washing in that spring over the winter months. i think you should think about what all of those quarry lorries would have done to your area.

  • paid for it perhaps? how do u think people here live? this area is built on quarrying and the jobs it creates in the great scheme of things a tree will grow back and grass will return in the short term and it is only very short term people need to live and pay their way somehow the area cant survive on selling cream teas and bakewell puddings!

  • the place is awsome I went there for summer salstice and many other times, met alot of cool people there!

  • Rape & pillage!

Have look at the "Thornborough Henge" vid on YT. That's under threat of quarrying all around by Tarmac.

Please sign the petition and write to MPs.

  • I also live very close and it's not the protesters that are screwing up the moor, it is the indiscrimate half wits who camp up here for a weekend, crap everywhere , light fires and leave it looking like Sheffield City Centre on a Saturday morning with beer cans and rubbish everywhere. It puzzles me why anyone should want to come up here for the beauty and leave it looking like their own back gardens, tell you what stay at home, have a barbeque and fill your own bin with beer cans.

  • powerful stuff. We've been to the camp so all the best to ZX, No Shoes and Sid etc.

  • i live pretty much as close as you can to the nine ladies and it really is one of the most beuiful places in the world. it should not be ruined.

  • beautiful place.

  • i think this tash is fab, see he posted this, i saw it was his website that was all about the travellers and way of life and ive become sort of interested in those guys for about the last year. This sort of thing helps us all to unify, to build better bridges, viva those bridges. In documenting things , past n present we can learn

  • A lovely area only spoiled by the camps of unwashed dope smoking hippies scum dotted all over the area. Get jobs you work shy leaches!

  • Beautiful place, stanton moor, the people are great too
