I lived on the site for over two years &must say that your comment is narrow minded.

I was working whilst living there,as others did.

Also for some their job is defending the landscape.this included sitting on site because while they were there, they could not quarry. These people had a passion and a belief that they could make a difference and what they do in their personal time is nothing to do with anyone else.

Things aren't so straight forward & the lifestyle was not an easy option.

The protest was not again the quarry workers but against the big bosses who want to rip up beautiful parts of the countryside. The site has now been restored back to nature and everyone has left. Quarrying messes up the ground water, so the trees won't neccessarily grow back. And after the quarrying's finished, then what?
