The idle means that when ur wastelanders not doing any work they will go idle and do the action it is doing xD its like a way over making the village a little more life like :P give a like so that he can see this :)

villagers obtained via that tower are not regular inhabitants, they are just for repopulating of "dead" village. To hire regular inhabitant via house build a watter well finally ( If you read description of house, there is written that you are missing one direct watter source) Srr, I am just curious about your progress so like to help you :)

diplex the (idol marke's) are for when you have villagers then if yu place one wher the thing sit down then your villagers will go there and do the same,

also the wasters don't count i don't think use the computer in the houses to spawn people they will have names and will count as free citizens

the idle markers lets npcs do things when inactive it in not a building just an animation npcs will do

if you dont like the houses then you can blueprint any building then use a "house" door and assign people to ur house! then ur town wont look to Crappy but its fallout so not going to be awsome pretty!

READ THE ON SCREEN MENU's if you did you would realize that you can make the construction sites into industrial/farming buildings and noone cares if you make a cut or two to check the walkthrough since it would help you alot more!
