@theshadowofninjas No. All it does is smash two atoms together to see what's inside. The only reason stuff like black holes are even suggested is becouse science can't ever rule anything out, even stuff that's never going to happen via all possible logic. Who knows, maybe the use of cellphones will cause all of Earth's volcanoes to errupt at the same time in 2 years. Can't rule that out, don't really know what happens.

@theshadowofninjas Actually, we don't know what's inside atoms. Not completely, at least. There could be entire Universes inside every atom. If that is so, we run into the infinite regress thing. But with any explanation of the Universe's origins is the same "the next one and the next one".

HollowFootman is correct...the LHC has the potential to create minute black holes. Stephen Hawkings stated that there is high unlikelyhood that it would occur but if any did occur they would immidiately wink out of existence. The normal gravitational force of the earth would cause it to dissipate...the whole thing is just ppl with flawed physics knowledge scaremongering ppl....humans are sooo prone to speculation and unnessecary panic...its tradition
