They tried way too hard to make this scene look cool. The flow was completely off, they could have done something about music or camera positions, or make it look like anything other then a level 1 critter fighting a level 100 monster. Yeah, she got a lucky hit in, but even that was weaksauce they added to try and make it look cooler.
You know that's how you absorb blows from someone like him right? He's so strong that if she tried to actually parry the blows full force her arm would have flew off.
Cheesy? Seriously? You haven't watched too many fight scenes.
I mean, knock how they replace her with an almost carbon copy right after she dies, but don't knock the scene for being "cheesy. It's extremely well choreographed.
By the way, I think you meant "cliche". A clique is a group of friends.

idrc too much about this game, but it gets more of a cult following than it deserves. Also, lol well choreographed. Subjective, but imo it's really generic. I've seen better from KH2 lol.
Different types of action, my friend. You can't compare those two games. The action in KH2 was designed to be physically impossible. This was designed to be more believable.... not necessarily realistic, but believable.

This is Square first ever try at crytek 3 engine and while the graphics and expressions looks a bit off il have to agree...never been a more realistic duel.

Cliche? im not really sure how you saw this as a cliche, i mean i didn't expect this to happen nor does this really happen often...unless Emma was in a fight and ran to protect Dave, then it could be considered a cliche, although the scene would've been different...
With KH2, ofcourse the fight scene is better [cloud vs sephiroth =) ] still those r 2 complelely diff games, like xelpherpolis said

I never liked Emma, it was annoying how she always pushed Rush out of the way and etc.

That dude has an epic fighting style, his huge size makes him non-acrobatic unlike her, yet he still dodges and pwns her with minimal movement.
