the ridiculous way these minhagim (customs) developed, which have nothing to do with the torah just go to show how corrupt orthodox Judaism has become. get out!!! b4 it is too late! open your minds and stop fooling yourselves!! I did!
Then cover the hair. It's in the Zohar. My son about 12 yrs ago, when was about 6, convinced me to cover my hair!!! I looked like a model and it was very hard for me. Today, you give me a Million dollar, I wouldn't take off my head covering, at my home In front of my kids. Tznius is the best essence of bat melech! Put it on all the time!!!
There was a lady named kimchit in the Gemara. 7 of her kids were cohen Gadol, which is amazing! All of them. Bezchus that even the pillars of her house didn't see her hair. Shy not to help bring Beracha home. You want a successful husband in Torah? Parnassa? Talmudey chachamim kids?
Days of our lives? More like waste of your life:) what a waste of time!!! I cover my hair all the time, except shower time. When I wake up at night and my head covering is falling off, I look for it and put it on. I have a beautiful hair, but really charish the tznius way! It's the best for you and your kids!
To cover the hair for a nidda is machmir, I think halachically you are not required.
Why? You seperate beds, or have a seperate sleeping room, if you are machmir.
Why is this tznius thing? Not to arouse your husband as a fence not to come to a situation where he will touch you in the state of nidda.
So if the beds are seperated it should be sufficient. If you want to be machmir, sleep in a different room, so he can not see you and you dont have to sweat.
If you were to do this, it would be easy to just cover your hair with a satin sleeping bonnet. I'm not married, but I wear one every night. It really is the best thing for your hair in that it prevents breakage especially for those with curly/coarse hair.
If you do not cover your hair at home during the time that you are not niddah, you would not have to cover your hair even while you are niddah. Of course, if you are not sure, ask Rabbi/Rebbitzin- Of course, you can just shave it off like the Satmar women.. just a thought
I am not totally observant(still trying to convince my husband I will still be beautiful..lol) But I have heard of this and personally it sounds scary.. I am a tosser too and would imagine that I'd tagle myself and pissibly get stuck in something. That being said I get the whole concept of making yourself a little inaccesable so hubby doesnt get the wrong impression.I can never get a straight answer about it either so I am very intrested in hearing what oppinions are out there..btw DAYS ROCKS!!
