That was frustraing for Ernie but not as frustraing as the time Kermit was talking about the letter Z and then it turned over and became an N and Kermit said "I don't wanna talk about the letter N I wanna talk about the letter Z! Now turn back into Z before I get angry!" And in the end when he was talking about zoom the letter zoomed away and when he was talking about zero the letter zoomed over him and he quit.
Sesame Street did something simalar to this recently, but it was the letter V and the number 11, and Rosita instad of Ernie. Look at the video responce to see it.
I like it when Ernie starts to freak out after he goes "& here it is in person for-" at 1:24 to when he goes "DGGAAAHHHH!!!!!" at 1:43, & it seems like he was waiting for it to switch at 1:30, right?
Yes, Sesame Street included some clips about counting to 40 until recently (when the audience was becoming "too young" for it). The highest number to actually *sponsor* an episode in the US, though, was 21; that happened twice in the mid-1990s. And yes, this Ernie sketch played on one of those shows...
lol I haven't seen this one in at least 15 years . . . and I still remember it! LOL.

LOL! Now if everyone on earth could try to put a positive spin on their problems, like Ernie does, I think the world would be a better place.

You know what really grinds my gears? When two-digit numbers can't decide to be one or the other! (Peter Griffin)

Disagreeable numbers, letters, they get on my nerves on behalf of the muppets. But Ernie sure showed them here.

Whoa! I remember that, though not the part with Ernie going mad.

LOL @ 1:42!! It's a rarity to see Ernie get so upset!

I know!! This seems better suited as a Kermit sketch, rather than an Ernie
thekingof8 4 years ago
Or even a sketch with Bert!
disneyfan85 3 years ago 3
If Bert saw this, then he would say: Hey Ernie, now you know how it feels.
classicssmfan 3 years ago 7
I wonder how it would go if it Bert doing this scene instead of Ernie.

nicka727 4 years ago
You don't see Ernie get frustrated very often, do you?
samsticka 4 years ago 5
He should have made a poem about 22! Then if the numbers moved they would stay the same!
moatguy 4 years ago 11
Ernie:"Call in Sgt Thersday! The number 12 is impersonating 21 just like the letter W impersonating M!"
moatguy 4 years ago 5

Didn't sesame street teach kids about the number 40 eventually?
