My research focuses on the relation between the mass of a black hole and the speed of the stars in central bulges in galaxies. It is really interesting because what I am seeing shows that the black holes at the center of galaxies can effect the motion of stars beyond their sphere of gravitational influence. This behavior has been checked by verifying the relation using other methods of measuring the mass of black holes such as stellar kinematics from nearby galaxies.

a black hole is a super dense object after a red giant explodes. it's gravitational pull is so strong that not even light can escape. No one knows what's in a black hole. Astronomers can detect them with X-ray and gamma ray scans.
yes, the sun "has" a spot hole and it is a black hole..and i believe our sun has an end like other stars in our universe..the sun will explode and become a big black hole
lol no its not gonna explode and nor it will become a black hole. the sun isn't big enough, it have to 10x bigger than it's current size to create a supernova or to become a black hole
i'm not trying to be rude but i don't want you to walk around with wrong information :-)
i agree that doesn't make sense. it's possible that our sun could explode into a red giant and then expode once more and collapse into a super dense object...and then form a black hole. But to say that the sun has a black hole is incorrect.
the sun has he potential to become a blackmhole, when it reaches the end of its life cycle, althrough it can go three ways, it could create a supernova, or just be reborn as another sun.
so if a black hole slows down time and we are in a galaxy with a supermassive bh then we are travelling slower than we appear. so if we travel between galaxies would we move quicker than expected.
Well theoretically. But in reality I dunno. I mean some people even say that Time is just an illusion created by man to keep things organised; and to create anxiety (lol).
A great comment that what i beleve to time is there 2 have a better understanding, So Time Travel is possible but not "In Time". Its more like This you go somewhere with the speed of light, When you are a your destination you go back twice as fast, youll can see yourself leave so its not time travel its just going faster thatn light case its the fastest that we know sow this is possible if we surpass the speed of light
*Yawn* I can't believe I stayed up until midnight watching this whole thing, but DAMN it was interesting!! 8D
Just a thought: If a black hole and white hole were to collide... . . . Actually, I don't think they can. The white hole would push the black hole away at the same rate it would be sucked into it. Hah hah, I guess that's it then.
Thank you for this video set, Obelisk. It was very informative. :D
Hmm. These interesting fusions of ideas are what helps us answer these wuestions about the universe. Curiosity. If you have it, never let go of it. (But don't get TOO carried away. lol)
So I dunno. I think another universe might emerge and split from our one OR it would just interlock itself to ours; like the Olympic Rings.
ive actually heard that there are white holes which spit out stuff and that if a black hole and white hole were to combine that it would make a wormhole which could be the answer to timetravel
Black holes are ultimate abyss Not really! The fact is black holes are there for purpose and reason. They are serving as recycling plants or reprocessing plants and are responsible for every single star in a galaxy. Without black holes galaxies can not exist, not only they supply fresh hydrogen to every star they keep the galaxy together. Black hole itself keeps a very large number of stars closely orbiting it which acts as a bigger single mass which keep the space depressed even more
This makes the gravity effect extend outward all the way towards the very edge of the galaxy. As I mentioned above that black holes recycle energy back into unit matter which is the hydrogen. You might ask, what about the matter falling in the black hole? Answer is that when matter falls in the back hole, something like a star, it spirals in but the matter stretches and breaks down into simpler and simpler form, due to space distortion, until it is no longer a matter and is pure energy.
This energy then gets converted back into fundamental unit of matter the hydrogen gas which then gets distributed out to stars in the galaxy and the cycle repeats. While black hole is doing that it gives away a little secret Here is what I mean, nothing suppose to escape black hole not even light but if you look closely you will find material is being ejected or escaping the back hole right at the axis of rotation of back hole. The only way material can escape black hole if it has a
Positive Space Depression Signature or (PSDS). Its like this, no matter how big or powerful the negative pole of a magnet is similar charge will always get ejected. Black holes are the only place I have observed material naturally having PSDS characteristic being ejected. How to obtain PSDS in lab Just kidding :)
what we see is not the whole universe. we may be transported to another "part" of the universe trough these dispensers where there will be different laws of physics, where we may be "seen" or "not seen" as matter.
we have three billion years so our first job is to get out of the galaxy. i'm sure by then we will be pretty sure how black holes work.
no no no.. to leave our solar system. To leave our galaxy would be an unimaginable incredible journey even for a civilisation that can easily travel between planets.
they just keep getting closer to each other. they never actually touch.
assuming that the two black holes are equal in mass, the original mass of the black holes will still be closer to their original black hole no matter hoe long the black holes have been dancing around each other.
It's so hard to explain.
They just keep getting closer and closer and closer. And then closer some more.
<----- will kill us by crushing us into the most dense fracture of measurement... but rather, I believe we will come out through another black hole in a backwards flow of time... somewhere in the past. ^.^
The professor using bubbles (If you watched all 7 parts) say's there MAY be a way to link two black holes for instantainious space travel - Meaning you'd end up on the other side of the opposing black hole you stepped through instantly. I don't see this happening, because the catastrophic force of a black hole pulls EVERYTHING in and dis-configures it... even time. Now if it IS indeed sucking time down along with it, that means time is flowing backwards. I don't think entering a black hole ---->
is it true that black holes are time machines??? if anybody gets into it can find a way to another part of universe or another world or another time????
There is a gradient between the singularity and normal space. As you get closer to the former less energy manages to escape. But the act of matter being torn apart releases energy before it has crossed the event horizon (from which no energy can escape)
If a black hole is created because of the weight of a dead star that collapses forever into the fabric of spacetime, into what is the collapsing spacetime actually falling into? The animation it presented our universe as a flat sheet of fabric that the hole fell out of, but what is the surrounding space into which it falls? Simply put, do black holes stay within the boundaries of our universe?
fact* that matter is shot out of the center of some galaxies and sucked through the other side, without ignoring the fabric of space time. I believe that this could be a possibility, and could explain why a black hole works the way it does.
Matter is simply destroyed in the singularity, now you say, matter, can not be destroyed because then the matter's information would be destroyed too in the singularity, but the information belonging to that matter is retained in the singularity's rotation and electrical charge.
in a similar matter. One thing goes in, and it comes out of its opisite... Well the theory is, that sense the black hole ways down space time to the point of braking, that on the other side matter is shot out. The average mind would say that this happens... ----> () into the hole, and shot out as matter ()----> but I say that it is sucked in, goes through the 4th dimension, comes out a so called 5th dimension, and is fired out that way... That would actually support the face that matter is
I developed a theory that is a bit past the 4th dimension... Apparently the black hole tears the fabric of time and space ((the 4th dimension)) and so it sucks every thing in and destroys it... Well, I think that upon entering a black hole, you are sucked through, destroyed, sent through an area of nothing but sheer gravity, and are shot out in your matter form through a "white hole." or just a black hole that works in an opisite way... They were talking about worm holes, which would work
no no no you guys there is no non existance just existance something has to existin some form or another and as far as the big bang goes you cant get something from nothing so i say that if you could break the gravity barier ether it would be the brightist thing in existance or the opposit but a black hole to me is nothing more than the densest material in existance that breaks things down on an atomic level to the point it becomes infinnity but in the opposit dorection
Here's a thought: What if the singularity within black holes are what was the universe before it was created? Would that not help explain the loss of gravity the more massive a black hole is? That basically the secret of black holes are that the singularity within them is the non-existence of existence? Could the conflict that results of non-existence within an existence lead to the phenomenal behavior of black holes and break-down of the established rules of the universe?
well i think thats having to do with a white hole, the theoretical opposite of a black hole, nobody has proven they exist or dont exist, but it lends creedence to the big bang theory, so who knows? i mean if a black hole exist in this universe for all we know or dont know there could be a white hole creating another. of course this is blind speculation at best.
you know, part of me is saying why the hell do we need to know what happens if we fall into a black hole which as we all know is not going to happen. then part of me is saying, wow, this is some interesting stuff!!!
And I think scientists have a possible solution to the singularity when relating to the creation of the Universe. The M-Theory. I watched a video of it here on YouTube called Horizons.
But this form of time travel is improbable because we can't reach those speeds, at least not at the moment. There are definitely some other theories as to how you could travel in time.
p2 - So if you flew around the earth like that and landed, you would see people 10 years older, greeting you from your 10 year flight. But "you" only spent a few days flying, therefor traveling into the future.
p1 - Time passes slower for objects, including us, when traveling at extremely high speeds. From the outside, you can start a timer and watch an object at extremely high speeds reach its destination in 10 years. But, if you were on that object, moving at that speed, it may only be a few days for you.
Also, if time passes slower as you aproach the speed of light, it is logical to say that an C it freezes, and if you could go faster it would go back. The problem is, there isn't enough energy in the ENTIRE universe to accelerate faster than C. That is why it's said it's impossible, because it would require infinite energy.
Time travel is explained in the video, but not clearly said. I explain: A wormhole, if it exsted, would link 2 different zones of space-time. 2 different zones, so the coordinate for time would be random ,could be future, could be past, could be present. In G. Relativity, time is just another coordinate.
The event horizon; the piont at which the difference between infinite smallness and infinite bigness become clear; everywhere and nowhere; always and never.
Im sure theres probably something wrong in my thinking here, but its just a thought that i have yet to reallllly think about and look for any research on, but if anyone could perhaps shoot me down or perhaps point me in the direction of more research on black holes, it would be much appreciated! :D
The thing is man that what you said would imply that the black hole you were in was created at the beginning of the universe because the only light in the black hole would be that which preceded the 'birth' of the black hole. Also technically by if you could faster than the speed of light then you wouldnt actually travel backwards in time all that would happen is you would catch up with light waves from the past so if you looked behind you it would appear that time was going backwards ish :P
What if, since, the space-time warp is so steep, while in the black hole, you continue to travel backwards in time, though still moving toward that singularity, and when you get to that singularity, it is the time the universe began!
Thanks for uploading this man! I have an idea about what happens in black holes...though im sure its completely wrong, after all, i am just a kid. But, theoretically, if one were to travel faster than the speed of light, theyd be travelling backwards in time right? Well, when youre being pulled into a black hole, you would be moving faster than the speed of light no?
If you die in a black hole for a funeral they'd probably put a ship with everyone attending in orbit around the black hole. Heck, perhaps people could be burried in black holes.

Also technically by if you could faster than the speed of light then you wouldnt actually travel backwards in time all that would happen is you would catch up with light waves from the past so if you looked behind you it would appear that time was going backwards ish :P

ahhhh, i forgot about that whole little needing to be created at that point...thanks for the clarification man

What if, since, the space-time warp is so steep, while in the black hole, you continue to travel backwards in time, though still moving toward that singularity, and when you get to that singularity, it is the time the universe began!
thatguy431 4 years ago
Theres a easyer way to see the universe began.
Just look up! Lamo How so? "Speed of light"
Is slow if you think about it.Ex All the light from the sun you see is about 10 secs old so you are seeing 10 secs in the pass.
Darkfoster22 4 years ago
Actually it takes light from the sun 8 minutes to close the gap and reach your eyes...

Thanks for uploading this man! I have an idea about what happens in black holes...though im sure its completely wrong, after all, i am just a kid. But, theoretically, if one were to travel faster than the speed of light, theyd be travelling backwards in time right? Well, when youre being pulled into a black hole, you would be moving faster than the speed of light no?
thatguy431 4 years ago
Not "you" can't go faster then light.
But you can look like you are moving faster then light"Around a blackhole Becuase space/time is not the same for 2 people.
Darkfoster22 4 years ago
First of all, we aren't go theorize about impossible situations like traveling faster or as fast as light.
Traveling 0.9999999999999999999999999999996 times the speed of light would essentially stop time.
When you are entering the black hole, you approach the speed of light, but never reach it.

And you know this through personal experience? What is it that propelles light?

If you die in a black hole for a funeral they'd probably put a ship with everyone attending in orbit around the black hole. Heck, perhaps people could be burried in black holes.

I'm pretty sure that when intersteller travel becomes a reality and becomes common people will probobly be killed by black holes from time to time.

Something tells me that we'll find out a very important descovery about the solar system by accident like we always do.

I agree, 100%

Man, such power and intensity. Our knowledge of space will always exand, but we will never discover all.

And scary.
Nothing is more frightening than the thought of a black hole.
