I remember this song and originally there was an english version to the song as well right? Black for the people, green for the land, red for the price of freedom. And white for peace in Kenya....
Beautiful! All of it - the children, the song, the voice. So warming to my heart to see happy Kenyan children. My wish is that all of Africa will become peaceful, well fed, and happy. Hearing this song and seeing chidlren in this video gives me hope that it is possible. And my hope that these children will be influenced by being involved in Eric's work in a such a way that they'll carry it through their lives and maybe even become inspiring artists themselves. Way to go, Eric!
This might as well be the greatest song in Kenya for generations.. crossing all bounderies of tribe, race, social status, political divide, you can a thousand lines that this song crosses... truly Kenyan and I`m proud to be Kenyan. Thanx Eric for your deep love n waking up Kenya with this truly inspiring song..
I am from Tanzania but I just love this song so much I have listen to this song many, many times and I can't get enough of it. Very powerful song, very inspiring i am proud of you all Kenyans and good job Eric Wainaina for writing this song
Someone please post the lyrics to this song. It makes me so proud of my Kenya. Wainaina is international standard in this song. It is a song of hope. I am hapy that someone like Eric gives hope to young Kenyans. Toronto Canada
Eric Wainaina...this is the spirit of the New Kenya...a world of changes...this is a brilliant masterpiece Eric...hii ni kama National Anthem to me...so so sentimental and the words penetrate to the deepest marrow of my bones...keep it up bro! Bravo
I'm so proud of Eric Wainaina for a job well done, a song well sang!! Sometimes this song gets me emotional because it's a song of a fellow proud Kenyan, sang from deep down his heart. Those kids are just so amazing, and the everyday Kenyans in the video just make me miss this humble life. I love this song so much with one heart, because it expresses the deep love we have for our country. Once again Eric, Kudos!! :)
beautiful people beautiful country, just woke up to listen to this song. I am soo proud to be kenyan though far away. Eric thanks for making us proud.
WOW......Amazing song! So beautiful! So possitive, even if i can not understand the language! Greetings to the BEAUTIFUL Kenya from Greece! I wish the best for your country and its people!
This is my new best song in the whole world....reminds me how privileged I am to be Kenyan n makes me want to make a change in Kenya!!!Kudos Eric, you're my hero!!!
@arjen56 he sings about what the flag means, all the three colours ie black for the people, green for the land, red for the blood of freedom, and white for peace in Kenya. He is singing that people should live in peace, he is proud to be Kenyan a loyal citizen etc etc
@nikosalama Dude.... mimi ni mkenya Damu! I was just wanted the english version coz i heard it on the net radio and i liked it. If you know where i can find it i will be greatfull, if not basi nita look up pahali pengine...
I keep hearing cats say how this dude is one of the best musicians in Kenya, but that's truly not saying enough. It's too small. People don't generally go around saying Michael Jackson was one of the best artist in the U.S. Eric Wainaina is legitimate. Drop KENYA. Dude is one of the best period. Before I was able to understand Swahili I loved this song, and now that I comprehend it, I love it more. Favorite Wainaina songs, "Too far from Home" Nchi ya Kitu Kidogo", and "Mwana Leta Pesa" Mad Love!
I remember this song and originally there was an english version to the song as well right? Black for the people, green for the land, red for the price of freedom. And white for peace in Kenya....
