I remember when I visit kelowna and there was nothing there but Seniors...it started out as a retirement community; that was when I was 5-10 years old...im 21 now and the city has totally changed into a place for young people

@2WIREG  probably because the druggies wreck life for everyone else. Kelowna is almost heaven on Earth, except for the creeps who are there to do drugs and crime.. so it gets magnified. Other than that, it is as near a perfect place to live as I can think of. Getting kind of big though, what, 120,000 with Westbank?

kelowna has 120 000 people in the actually city. the metropolitan area has 180 000 people now. i wouldnt classify it as a small city anymore. i'd classify it as a medium large city. small would be 20 000 to 50 000

medium from 50 000 to 100 000 medium large from 100 000 to 200 000 large from 200 000 to 1 000 000. major city of importance from 1 000 000 to the largest sized cities.

I do focus on the positive I just feel there are issues in this city that are ignored... people may call this a beautiful city but there is a real dark street life problem that has been around since I was in my teens and it seems that nothing is really done about it. I love Kelowna but the community needs to get it's act together....

I hear what you are saying, although I lived on Lawson ave and Richter for 2 years, and I observed a lot of the homeless culture in Kelowna. My opinion is that it is just a result of a fast growing city.
