Unwanted animals are the result of irresponsible owners that allow their animals to run free. In areas that have offered low or no cost spay and neuter and education there have been dramatic reductions in unwanted animals. Remember the story about the contest between the North Wind and the sun. Gentle persuasion is more effective than force.
Here's a question for the 'rsponsible breeder': There are many thousands of animals in shelters desparately looking for homes. How can you justify breeding them when there's so many animals already in need?
The honest answer would be: "Because I want to make money. I don't give a shit about the animals in shelters."
@MrStokeGuy ...you quote the PETA line well. In our area, a large one, Dallas Fort Worth, not one of the dogs in a shelter is a sheltie, my breed of choice, That;s because CONSCIENiOUS breeders have rescue clubs associated with them that DO take responsibility for our breeds in the shelters, and scoop them out, care and rehab and vet care them, then rehome them. You never see them; nor most of the other AKC breeds as they take do the same. None of them are lauded for thier actions..THEY SHOULD
@MrStokeGuy That`s crap. GOOD breeders often lose money. The reason GOOD breeders breed is to improve that breed, and to preserve the breed that others have worked so hard to perfect. Most dog breeds were created for a specific purpose, like hunting, herding, protecting, etc. If all reputable breeders were to give up their breeding programs you`d have nothing but mutts left to do these very important jobs, and mutts just won`t cut it in the world of WORKING dogs.
Good job on the vid we own rotties and this is exactly the type of vids needed to ensure that people get the right dogs for there families. fyi our recent addition got his canadian championship at 11 months very handsome boy
If all breeders were responsible there would be NO shelters ;-)
