SSX's DW5 ending made me lawl, crying over Liu Bei after she ripped his guts out with her chakrams just 10 seconds earlier.

They really need to make this the basis for all Yi Ling battle themes in the DW series. It's absolutely perfect. Yi Ling was easily my most-played stage in DW5 mainly because this music is so badass (though the fact that I got to deal the Shu army a massive defeat they never really recovered from was a close 2nd).

Is this theme in any of the DW7 DLC packages?

Yi Ling was nearly Chi Bi scale disaster. Except Shu-Han was much smaller and weaker than Wei. The loss of territory, officers and manpower was a huge setback, perhaps even a fatal one...

We don't really know what happened to Sun Quan's sister after she returns to Wu. Most accounts don't really mention her further, some place tell us she returned to the Shu court some time after Yi Ling, but that seems unlikely.

The drowning thing comes from the novel, IIRC. And, if not, from Chinese Opera.

Things seemed to be going great, as Shu was rising in power. However, Guan Yu was captured in a Wu ambush and executed, with his son suffering the same fate.

This threw Liu Bei into a rage matched only by Zhang Fei. However, Zhang Fei's anger caused a rift between him and his men, leading them to kill him in his sleep.

Both wings were torn, and the Battle of Yi Ling, a shameful loss for Liu Bei, was the result of this outrage.

Sucks for Shu being the first kingdom to fall out of the original three kingdoms. Followed by Wei which Sima Yi, turned into Jing and lastly was Wu getting defeated by Jing. So out of the three kingdoms the real winner was Wu being the one that lasted the longest.

No. The era of the three kingdoms ultimately ended in Wei assuming control. Wu and Shu ended up being crushed. Wu was rife with internal conflict, and Shu was lambasted on all sides by the other two kingdoms banding together.

Of course, at the end of it all, Sima Yi marches in and sort of just takes over China because he feels like it and, whateva, he's Sima Yi, he do what he want.

This is by far the most epic battle in Dynasty Warriors, the music, the emotion, I mean I dont remember much Liu Bei must have been really depressed through out the course of the battle and only got worse when Sun Xian Shang saw him on the battlefield. This battle just screams EPIC.

If Guo Jia didn't die, Cao Cao would've won at Chi Bi and would've made Wei the undisputed super power.

If Sun Ce didn't die, he would've conquered Cao Cao's capital and the kingdom of Wei probably would not exist.

To be honest, things could've went either way. That's what makes Three Kingdoms so interesting.

@Dudeinator6599 Sun Ce taking Xu Chang is complete fan fiction. The only person who had a snowball's chance in hell was Zhuge Liang, who was held back only by a lack of food. Wei had usurped the emperor, and Shu had supporters outside its borders from Han loyalists. Wu didn't have sh1t for support outside its borders.

Everytime I played as my CAW, Aži Dahāka, I would use this as the music. He's the typicle darklord type; tall, strong build with violet/black demon armor, Fu Xi's broadsword (Holy Avenger), and the Heroic voice. Add onto that Ye as a shadowy wasteland backdrop, and it fit together oh-so well: the diabolical villain that must be crushed so that peace might reign throughout the land.

if you think of each general/generic troop as their own "unit" of troops, and extend the amount of time from minutes to days, it makes a lot of sense. everything does. You get hit and lose HP? more like you engage in a battle and lose that portion of your troops. :P Destiny of an Emperor made me think of this. old Nintendo game.

Alot of people I have talked to are torn between this and Avenging Battle for Yi Ling. I think this suits Lu Xun's side of it better in that he must live up to Lu Meng's legacy. Where Avenging Battle is more suited for Liu Bei.

I like the ending in the novel, it makes the epic story more romantic.
